Dude, sign ups aren't a community. Obviously, this event has been quite buzzworthy (and it will be pretty cool, me thinks), but it ain't a community. Community may be what comes out of a great event. It takes time and energy. (see comment)

Well, it does represent another instance of irresponsible journalism, which further blows a hole in the theory that traditional media is responsible and accurate and blogs are bunk. :) I, personally, liked the story. I had no idea. (see comment)
