BREAKING: Google Chrome Just Launched
Comment in News (15 diggs, 1 reply) - on 09/02/2008
Nice thing here is that it is open-source. If there is some sort of spying going on you can bet that there will be a spy-free version released by someone with all google specifics ripped out. (see comment)

Automate backups on Linux

Great script, however not really 'secure' since you are using an unencrypted private key... Check out the keychain script in the article. Pretty cool compromise. (see comment)

Automate backups on Linux

I think the gem here is mention of the keychain script for using making a more secure rsync, ssh, scp public key system. I didn't know about it and have been using passwordless private keys for automated tasks, far from ideal. No longer. Digg. (see comment)

Faster Linux: Prelink in Ubuntu benchmarks and HOWTO

Good article, bad conclusion. The time you spend setting this up will take you more time then the time you save with prelink in a couple years of usage. Prelink pixie dust is not worth it. (see comment)

Kind of dumb comparison. The Eee is all about ultra portable and solid state. If you don't care about size, ya, get a low end laptop from Dell. (see comment)

Great taskbar idea
Comment in News (1 digg, 0 replies) - on 04/26/2007
This idea has some great potential. I see your point about the quick launch buttons moving, but I also do like how the windows attach to the launcher too. It does save some screen real estate by only needing to show one icon for multiple windows. Would … (see comment)

Run Your Existing Windows Installation on Ubuntu with Vmware Player

Unfortunately, You can not suspend a VMWare virtual machine when it is using a physical partition. So you have to 'boot' it every time. Having an image file is nice when you need to just 'pop' in and out quickly by using suspend. (see comment)
