Obama’s performance at the debates fits well with what union workers have been telling their working class comrades in places like Ohio and Pennsylvania for months. “He’s alright. There’s nothing to be afraid of.” Or as Latisha Price, a union worker canvassing for Obama in one of the most bigoted county’s in Ohio put it “He’s one of us.”

Going into tonight ‘s presidential debate, John McCain didn’t just need a win. A knockout probably wouldn‘t have even done it. He needed one of those power-punch, drop-the-other-guy to the mat fight-finishers that go down in history among some of the greatest comebacks of all time. His failure to achieve it may have effectively ended his bid.

If Obama can manage to win just one of the eight states currently listed as "tossups," as well as all the other states in which he's currently leading by five points or more, he'll be guaranteed victory. Bad news for John McCain- Obama is currently leading in six of them.
