- Irfit, on 10/12/2007, -5/+14Ive seen plenty of guitar, piano, bass , etc mario versions, but never a drum mario version, this is really cool!
- jenel, on 10/12/2007, -15/+4Best. Super. Mario. Bros. Theme. Cover. Version. Ever.
- rhettnyedotorg, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7what about Group X Mario Twins? http://www.albinoblacksheep.com/flash/mario.php
totally awesome, original drum version of mario bros tune. also group x is too funny. - rhettnyedotorg, on 10/12/2007, -4/+3here's the correct link for group x mario twins.. full screen. newgrounds. http://uploads.ungrounded.net/20000/20935_mario.swf
- nottidredd, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1yup group x did it first
- rkettner, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6Kinda seems like the guy is hitting on all the buzz some of these other youtube clips are getting (flute beatboxer, etc). Although he is clearly a good drummer - this isn't really about Mario.
- romeyinfc, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3Yeah it is about Mario. Granted a lot of it is just him showing off of his chops, but he hits all of the accents in the right places, and does a pretty good job translating the rhythms through his kit.
- praisethelard, on 06/06/2008, -4/+1Group X should be the official band of Borat.
- Shando, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4rkettner - I agree. If I would have heard that drum beat without the backing track, I would have absolutely no idea it was mario
- webdevil, on 10/12/2007, -2/+23Guy: You are like... amazing... dude.
Garth Algar: Thanks. I like to play. - RationalAntaxia, on 10/12/2007, -6/+1just sick
- fcra, on 10/12/2007, -11/+10The guy's talented, but there's nothing recognizably Mario about this.
- Culled, on 10/12/2007, -3/+18Yeah, except for a few places in the video I didn't think I'd even recognize it as Mario without the actual song playing over it.
- pplante, on 10/12/2007, -3/+9I totally agree. It was a nice beat, but not what I expected.
- comrademikhail, on 10/12/2007, -1/+18Coming from a drummer, there's not really much you can do to make it painfully Mario except playing it on the proper toms to get the right pitches out of the drums to resemble the Mario theme. What this guy did was amazing, and I really hope to be that good someday.
- DaFunk, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6It's basically a drum solo with Mario music playing over top of it. That's both a bad and good thing. It's good if you want to hear his proficiency at drums, but bad if you expected it to be verbatim Mario themes. He's obviously a talented solo drummer although I thought it was a bit excessive. It's true a solo drummer can't play a Mario theme by himself, but a solo drummer can easily overpower one.
- LEDDY, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1super
- Pic0, on 10/12/2007, -7/+10cant really tell it is mario... but ok
- xenoploid, on 10/12/2007, -9/+3make it stop
- D3koy, on 10/12/2007, -3/+4If I hadn't been told Mario, that would be the last thing on my mind during this...
Still pretty kick-ass... - scotticus, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Really well done. His playing is very, very similar to that of Mike Portnoy (which is a good thing). I even think part of the 3/4 section (swimming Mario) was lifted out of a Dream Theater song...
Amazing drumming. Great job.- underthelinux, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Agreed - i think this dude has heard too much portnoy. I know they're both good... but i'd like to see some more originality on his part. Lots of the patterns/fills were taken straight out of portnoy's book. Not a terrilble thing, but tons of people can replicate. I'd like to see him innovate.
woot. - berfmurret, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3i agree with underthelinux. he is a pretty good drummer. hes got talent but i wouldn't say amazing. bland fills. bland riffs. nothing innovative. tons of people can sound that impressive with a huge kit like that. but then again when it comes to interesting drummers i much prefer jazz.
- musicfreak21, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1Yes, Mark Portnoy would be proud.
- romeyinfc, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1He had a pretty interesting tom configuration, especially for a right-handed setup.
- scotticus, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1dang berf... no need to hate.
When I say amazing, I don't mean it in the over-hyped digg sense... I mean for a guy banging away in a basement making YouTube videos.
If this guy had a full (and talented) rock ensemble, and wasn't sacrificing a sacred cow (the Mario theme) everyone would be singing his praises.
I mean, he's no Dave Weckl, but then again, very few are.

- Kumaku, on 10/12/2007, -3/+5It doesn't really sound like Super Mario but he plays alright.
- pigsbladder, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1dugg for quality drumming
- bjorno, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Drummers should be felt and not heard
- scotticus, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8Like your mom.
- Perulish8, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Whoa... flashback to high school where all I listened to was Dream Theater. Props on the chops buddy.
- Kking199, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1This comment comes from a drummer... sometimes less is more and absolutely WAY too much double bass. BTW I love all the cymbals!
- bluechips23, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1Super Mario theme song is my NEW RING TONE!!!
- Paperthin, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1We did this in our drum line at our school. I wish we would have recorded it...
- Vito82, on 10/12/2007, -5/+3lame
- homestar2525, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Lets see you do better then. I thought it was tight.
- truekid, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1i'll give him props for the skill demonstrated, but it wasn't particularly enjoyable to listen to.
- Zoctogon, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1Great drumming. His kit is kinda overkill though. I'm pretty sure anyone could sound bad ass with a few hours of practice and a kit like that.
- micklerlop, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2hate to be his dorm-mate
- scjones, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Wow he can play to the Mario rhythm. Astounding.
- Blue_Eon, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1As a drummer I am impressed and yeah, his fills and whatnot were pretty standard stuff, (especially the double bass stuff), but I am still impressed. The sound quality was good compared to what I seen on Youtube.
- dimplemonkey, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1What?! No cowbell? I've got a fever and the only prescription is MORE COWBELL!
