Beachgoers sunbathe beside bodies of gypsy children

news.scotsman.com — THE bodies of two drowned Roma children lay covered by towels on an Italian beach while holidaymakers carried on, unfazed enjoying the sun. Cristina Ibramovitc, 12, and Viola Ibramovitc, 11, were left on the sand for an hour among "indifferent" holidaymakers after being caught in rough seas.

  • Rabbit63, on 07/22/2008, -0/+2I am not sure I get the point. What were these people supposed to do? Stand around in groups and gawk at the corpses? Hold a prayer vigil? Bury them?

    Someone covered the bodies with towels which is a decent thing to do and about the only thing which people should be expected to do since authorities were notified and things were in hand.

    ***** it, if they were at the beach they were there to enjoy themselves and whilst they may for the most part have been sorry about the girls' deaths there wasn't anything they could have done about it at this stage.
