I'm willing to bet that the UAE lets these people go after the foreign ministry calls them and asks them to. I recall a few months back a brit was arrested in UAE for having some cannabis stuck to their shoe and they were released, same thing will happen here that is what diplomats are for. I'd be really surprised if they actually had to stay in jail for the whole sentence...

Well he was in another country and has to abide by their laws. Makes sense. If you go to a country with more strict moral standards, you might want to watch your back. No singing in Saudi Arabia, No copulation in Dubai and no gay sex in America (save california)
