- alapoet, on 06/18/2008, -8/+31Johnson must go. Having him in charge of the EPA is having the fox in charge of the henhouse.
- GhostPanther, on 06/18/2008, -4/+15I'm tired of these corporate traitors to our country. Johnson's lucky he's not in jail.
- Fangsinmybeard, on 06/18/2008, -3/+29The whole appointed administration should resign, immediately.
- neognostic, on 06/18/2008, -5/+9Signed and sent, now who is next on the list of these traitors?
- ufia, on 06/18/2008, -7/+3Ron Paul is next on the list. All traitors must go.

- westbay1, on 06/18/2008, -7/+4Fox in charge of the henhouse... thats like having Michael Jackson run a children's daycare! Stephen Johnson is the king of special interests...
- evilcaptain, on 06/18/2008, -6/+8I hope at the inauguration when Bush shakes his hand, Obama should whisper "Don't leave the country."
- girwen, on 06/18/2008, -5/+4No he should give him a ride on a CIA chartered Gulfstream G500 to The Hague where:

Global warming FTW - Thrilltone, on 06/18/2008, -7/+3He'll just have to accept his Fellowship early.
He should be sent to Abu Ghraib instead. Some corporations will eagerly conceal data about poisonous ingredients, if it means an extra 1/20th of a cent profit. The officials who are supposed to prevent that sort of thing are in collusion with the Evildoers.- blackbamboo, on 06/18/2008, -2/+2Abu Ghraib is closed. How about sending him to a Code Pink convention? Talk about torture!
- pajeff2, on 06/18/2008, -12/+7Sounds like the lunatic fringe groups are pushing this.....The only nuts you didn't mention was the John Birch Society
- BillE3, on 06/18/2008, -2/+3Yeah, isn't that some sort of tree hugger group.
- pajeff2, on 06/18/2008, -1/+1it's a highly racist organization that wants to do away with civil rights legislation
- flip, on 06/18/2008, -1/+2The John Birch people are delusional at best.
- pajeff2, on 06/18/2008, -1/+1it's a highly racist organization that wants to do away with civil rights legislation
- BillE3, on 06/18/2008, -2/+3Yeah, isn't that some sort of tree hugger group.
- mbraynard, on 06/18/2008, -4/+13If you need a reason to ignore this, just look at this sentence from the letter demanding his resignation:
"There are those who will argue that Steve Johnson can not inflict exponential harm to the public or the environment in the remaining six months of his term. However, as we watch American cities submerged under water, I would ask whether we, as a society, can afford his misdirected leadership in the areas of climate change and deregulation of important environmental protection laws."
WHAT!?!?!?!?!?!? So he is causing 'exponential' harm? And he has anything to do with a 500/100 year flood? Because he caused it?
He is the head of a government agency who serves at the pleasure of the President and is carrying out the policies of an elected President. Calling for his resignation solely for carrying out the President's policies is an affront to the Democratic system.
If you dislike the guy, your only recourse is to choose differently in the quadrennial election, dumbass.- chikensrule, on 06/18/2008, -2/+1I agree with you. If anything, this statement sounds like they should have more of a problem with FEMA than EPA.
- mbraynard, on 06/19/2008, -0/+1Yeah, except FEMA seems to have gotten their act together - or at least it appears that way in the media because the victims are not wards of the state incapable of leaving and instead drowning as a direct result of their poor choice of mayor and governor. Voting D can kill you.
- chikensrule, on 06/18/2008, -2/+1I agree with you. If anything, this statement sounds like they should have more of a problem with FEMA than EPA.
- Ganja420, on 06/18/2008, -2/+20Online petition.... YEA THAT'LL SHOW EM!
- Ganja420, on 06/18/2008, -3/+1NOT
- bigsteve3OOO, on 06/18/2008, -3/+5the trouble with libtards is they really believe that by doing a silly event or signing a petition they are doing the hard work to effect change when all they really are is a bunch of lazy b@stards who don't fix anything.
- zomglolcats, on 06/18/2008, -1/+2As opposed to the conservatives who fix everything?
- lettruthout, on 06/18/2008, -1/+2The conservative-backed neocons apparently have ruined quite a lot, including the reputation of conservatives. Their hate filled arguments are growing quite thin.
- rudy23, on 06/18/2008, -7/+9Just as an FYI Online petitions count for nothing.
- ludditte, on 06/18/2008, -8/+3As rudy23 points out, Digg stuff does not count for the GOP, they are still watching "Leave it to beaver" and go in their segregated bathrooms. Vote in November, that is the only way you'll get rid of that scum. Venting on the Internet does nothing but make you feel good.
- blackbamboo, on 06/18/2008, -1/+0voting won't help...the guy is leaving anyway with the rest of the appointees no matter who wins
- ericthegreat, on 06/18/2008, -3/+5I'm sorry but this will do nothing. You need congress to pressure someone in that position to step down and even then the administration would need to be involved. They aren't going to do anything to rock the boat with the election coming up so close.
Just be sure to vote in November! - davbmn68, on 06/18/2008, -10/+6Spam! Another We hate bush site because...blah, blah, blah. Get a life and get off Digg. Buried!
- ethanpack, on 06/18/2008, -3/+5I wonder if Russ Cargill will get another shot.

- NintendoFan, on 06/18/2008, -2/+12"EPA EPA EPAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!" - Grandpa Simpson
- superjonboy, on 06/18/2008, -6/+6Well if this is true that he is doing all this, thank God!! At least there is someone in our government who hasnt bent over and grabbed his ankles, and then let radical enviromentalists have their way with him. Enviromentalism has become a religion, and its primary tenets are to hold back anything which might help America, and also to hurt America as much as possible. Nixon was a fool to have ever created the EPA, and Reagan should have disbanded it. The EPA stands for Evil- Progressive Antiamericans, and the weaker it is, the less harm it can do to our country. And yes, Global warming is fake.
- flip, on 06/18/2008, -3/+2what an asshat comment this is.
The EPA was created as a watchdog to protect the common interests of this nation's resources and public health. AFTER abuses by businesses and individuals raped, poisoned and destroyed this nations resources in order to keep or make a quick buck!
In short, it's created to protect the rest of us from people such as yourself.
what is it?
Are you all too lazy to think up of ways to do things that preserve what you can't create?
Oh, I get it... I'll use a business analogy:
You see a bank's reserve and refuse to live off the interest it generates for the en tire company.
So you think it's best to steal from everyone else by reducing the principle and funnel it into a personal account.
well the EPA was created to stop you from doing that buttmaster.
BushCo has intentionally appointed this assbag to the position to allow some companies to profit and abuse what is more valuable to protect and use wisely for all people.
nobody is being harmed by the EPA doing it's job
I find it incredible that some people use the clean air such governance protects to spout such trash. you're short sighted, narrow minded and stupid dolt.
sometimes I wish we could move all of you onto a little planet of your own and then sit back and let you have at it.... let you all die neck deep in your own *****.
it would cost us an extra planet but you know what? we would be rid of your genome of retards forever.
- flip, on 06/18/2008, -3/+2what an asshat comment this is.
- Barackalypse, on 06/18/2008, -2/+4I love all these lefties calling for the man's resignation, but yet at the same time they're demanding more government power to regulate and subsidize industry and private citizens, as if the government will somehow use that additional power better than it is using its current power.
- amightywind, on 06/19/2008, -3/+1I think Stephen Johnson has done a fine job. I can't wait to see what ANWR looks like after it is stuck like a pin cushion with oil wells. The liberals will forced to acquiesce. Go GDub!
