- HollowMarkeD, on 11/19/2007, -0/+4Worthy cause; more people die in traffic than due to terrorism, lets pour money into preventing that?

- typicalusername, on 11/19/2007, -1/+1So, you're telling me that people get killed around the holidays and that I need to drive safer? Is this different than any other holiday season?
- ACrazyGerman, on 11/19/2007, -0/+1"Cullum Owings and his younger brother were driving back to college following the holiday when a speeding tractor-trailer struck their stopped car from behind and tragically killed Cullum. Steve and Susan" and they are telling us to pull over to the side of the road to take a nap every hour...?
- agoddin, on 11/19/2007, -0/+1I believe their car was stopped because of traffic, not on the side of the road. http://roadsafeamerica.org/message/
It's probably best to pull of at rest stops or other locations for naps, if available, however -- not the side of the road. - Seeker135, on 11/20/2007, -1/+1No. They are telling YOU, specifically, not to drive with your head up your &ss, Like it was when you made that comment.

- JohnFromChicago, on 11/19/2007, -0/+1Dugg to promote safety ... but I noticed that site led to another that was for reducing speed limits on trucks nationwide. Like anything else nationwide it's stupid. Most truck accidents happen for two reasons - sleepy driver or equipment failure. By requiring trucks to slow down in reasonable places (like desert interstates), you only increase the time it takes to get the day's work done and encourage sleepy truckers. Most truckers are skilled pros who are more than capable 99.9% of the time. The best thing for cars to do is give them their space. Drive awake and drive sober, and everyone should get home okay.

- MaryLynn321, on 11/19/2007, -0/+1Great article, thank you for sending the link. It definitely can be dangerous during the holidays. Or for that matter when everyone is in a hurry. Hugs Mary
- Seeker135, on 11/20/2007, -0/+1People are cattle. Put 'em in cars, you're gonna have problems. Drive defensively. There's more of THEM than there are of you.
- sassychick12, on 11/20/2007, -0/+0Dugg! This is such an important issue, and the cause is really worthy too.
