- smartmarket, on 08/20/2008, -0/+4I saw a documentary film produced about this last year at an Environmental Awards show produced by Waste Management. It was deplorable how badly some trash disposal companies are treating and using some of these small countries in Africa and developing countries like India and China to dispose of e-waste from the US. Luckily companies like Waste Management have taken a lead to try and stop this from continuing before more damage is done.
- rabasure, on 08/20/2008, -0/+3An interesting as well as a threatening article.E-waste gathers to an alarming proportion in India and China. But it is equally alarming to know that most of the MNCs have not adopted take back option. But it offers a little solace that Indian companies like HCL offers take back option and also supports the Indian Government's initiative to check the e-waste.But we should not forget that India and China have embarked upon a massive compueterisation programme without taking into account environmental hazards.Similarly they should take initiatives in this regard to solve this problem rather expeditiously.
