But let's just talk about the future here...Will Bonds and Pete Rose get in the Hall of Fame? Have a senate hearing to find out! Oh, and if they have a senate hearing on Clemens and his extra affairs, this country will go bankrupt with the long line of questioning of the women in the case.

      I remember meeting him while he was still playing for the Red Sox when I was younger and wanted an autograph and he blew me and a few other fans off. I lost every bit of respect for him that day and I was glad to see him leave Boston.

        I read the article and I completely agree, but at the same time, my eyes are killing me because I was not able to see the text clearly.

Independent investigation NEEDS to happen here, I don't care who does it but if congress has to step in for it to happen then so be it.
  • trixterIreland, on 05/15/2008, -0/+0The constitution specifically grants congress the right to hold tribunals inferior to the supreme court (Article I Section 8 somewhere around clause 8 iirc). However this is an abuse of both power and tax payer dollars.

    The NFL spygate is not an illegal thing, its a NFL rule violation. Further the federal government is not without limits on its powers (see the 10th amendment, any power not *specifically* given to the feds in the constitution is a right of the state or the people). So unless something like Article I Section 8 Clause 3 (interstate nad foreign commerce clause) is met, and spying on a foreign coach doesnt even seem likely that it is interstate or foreign commerce, the feds dont even have jurisdiction.

    vote for the constitution, if a elected official proposes a bill, votes for a bill, or otherwise proposes an agency, program, or other thing that is not constitutional do not vote for them, if possible recall them but certainly dont reelect them. Make them fear the people again instead of trying to squeze the people beneath their thumb.

The NFL & MLB has exemptions and if there's something that ruins the competition of the leagues the govt. might remove the exemptions that both of them hold. This would involve player's contracts, tv deals, stadium deals, etc.

  • theRedLasso, on 05/15/2008, -0/+0there are so many cheats in the NFL, i love how everyone wants to pick on the the Pats because of the rule violation. what about the well documented steroid abuses by the steelers in the 70s and 80s (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Steroid_use_in_Americ ... what about the salary cap violations by the Broncos when they were winning superbowls (http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A289 ... (they did get punished though...)
    there are so many friggen problems in the nfl, cheating should just be part of the game. i almost wish there was a league where steroids and cheating was allowed....not that would be fun to watch.

    but hey, its fun to bash the best team ever in football though.
