- LewP, on 05/15/2008, -1/+13Has anyone noticed more senate hearings revolving around sports these days? Steroids, and the whole Roger Clemens fiasco. But let's just talk about the future here...Will Bonds and Pete Rose get in the Hall of Fame? Have a senate hearing to find out! Oh, and if they have a senate hearing on Clemens and his extra affairs, this country will go bankrupt with the long line of questioning of the women in the case.
- jemka, on 05/15/2008, -3/+2"Investigate My Ass!"
That's what she said.- VinceNoir, on 05/15/2008, -1/+2And then I proceeded to. With my fleshlight...

- icantseeyou, on 05/15/2008, -2/+16I agree with the article completely. Can't we enact some sort of law (well duh... the people who enact the laws are the ones doing it so we can't) where congress is restricted in what subject matters they may have hearings on.
Cmon, we have a failing economy, a war, and a ton of other real issues.- usgovterrorists, on 05/15/2008, -2/+4All by design:
The housing bubble was designed!
The invasion of Iraq was based on a 1000 lies!
The real issue is the United States Government has been taken over by terrorists!

- RuelJ, on 05/15/2008, -5/+4Dugg it!
- AliceMarble, on 05/15/2008, -5/+2Yes, we have the economy, the war and natural disasters. To say nothing about the election! But Senate oversight in sports does seem to be more focussed than, on, say payoffs to politicians from Big Ag.But as American's heroes are not statesmen, but athletes, I guess it makes a sorta sense. (Roger Clemens hurt me so bad. He, like Marian Jones was a god to me. I feel personally bitch slapped.)
- twiztidsinz, on 05/15/2008, -1/+4Roger Clemens is a dick.
I remember meeting him while he was still playing for the Red Sox when I was younger and wanted an autograph and he blew me and a few other fans off. I lost every bit of respect for him that day and I was glad to see him leave Boston.- supermanred, on 05/15/2008, -0/+2***** him.
- VinceNoir, on 05/15/2008, -2/+1Man! And here I thought he was the sax player for the E Street band back in the 80s. I guess I'm not up on today's celebrity golfers.

- usgovterrorists, on 05/15/2008, -17/+129-11 WAS AN INSIDE JOB!
9-11 was covered up, not investigated!
9-11 the evidence was destroyed rather than investigated!
9-11 investigation didn't test for explosives, and that's also against the law!
9-11 investigation never explained the molten metal, yet they knew it would expose the reason for the three collapsed buildings!
United States Government are terrorists, war criminals, and horrific liars.
Where's the evidence that kerosene fires melted steel?
How did the huge molten pools of metal get under the twin towers and building 7?
9-11 was an inside job! 9-11 official story was a lie! What happened to building 7?
Depleted uranium is a weapon of mass destruction!
Play Wall Street like a PONZI SCHEME!
The elections are rigged, unsecure voting machines & ballots!
Terrorist United States Government mandated a fivefold increase in the use of biofuels.- LewP, on 05/15/2008, -3/+3(sigh) Why am I not surprised at this comment with a username like usgovterriosts?
- usgovterrorists, on 05/15/2008, -5/+9What do you call a government that stages attacks against its citizens?
What do you call a government that invades Iraq on 1000 lies?
What do you call a government telling lies about Iran, so they can attack Iran next?
What do you call a government that deploys several thousand tons of weapons of mass destruction?
United States Government are terrorists, war criminals, and horrific liars.
The word terrorist just doesn't seem to do it justice.
The terrorist United States Government makes any so called terrorist look like a boyscout!- greenlight2001, on 05/15/2008, -1/+4Com'on! You're not even writing new material now! You're just copy and pasting the same old ***** into every story.... at least be original if you're gonna be crazy.
- Metman, on 05/15/2008, -0/+1I was expecting it in his post above and was thinking. Oh well at least he wasn't pasting the same ***** as nearly every other one of his posts. Alas, I digress....
- insanebrain, on 05/15/2008, -0/+2The problem is we can keep on posting old *****, because the American people didn't get it first time and probably will never get it until it is too late.

- werries, on 05/15/2008, -0/+1propaganda. just because it goes against the government doesnt mean its not someone just taking facts out of context to manipulate your thoughts into believing them. dont just blindly follow.
Have you actually researched any of those facts in something that isn't a conspiracy theory site?

- DickMasterson2, on 05/15/2008, -1/+3I call you a *****... if you don't like it get the ***** out of the country. Oh wait you won't because you don't want to lose your freedoms that you are given in this country. All of you people disgust me, nothing is stopping you from taking your whiney asses elsewhere... PUSSIES!
- usgovterrorists, on 05/15/2008, -1/+1Now now what ever happened to defending the Constitution from enemies foreign and domestic?
- DickMasterson2, on 05/15/2008, -0/+2***** them... kill them all!
- JonyMill, on 05/15/2008, -1/+1So your idea of defending the Constitution is spamming your insane theories on websites?

- usgovterrorists, on 05/15/2008, -2/+2Did you ever notice these neocons aren't able to answer my questions?
Did you ever notice these neocons pretend they have the high ground?
Neocons are horrific liars, and have nothing to lose by lying!
These neocons know they can't debate me because the truth is NOT on their side!
I dare you neocons to answers the questions, debate if you can, and try to pretend the truth is on your side.
Behold, I will show you how phony these neocons are! - etx313, on 05/15/2008, -1/+1You got it all but the caps lock there buddy.
- harrisyw, on 05/15/2008, -0/+9There already is a law preventing this type of stuff, it's called the Constitution. We just choose to ignore it.
- usgovterrorists, on 05/15/2008, -2/+3The terrorists in the Whitehouse are ignoring the Constitution as well!
The only difference is the terrorists in the Whitehouse swore an oath to defend the Constitution.
The terrorists in the Whitehouse are getting paid to defend the Constitution, and that should bother you.- dynelol, on 05/15/2008, -1/+1Nobody likes you at all. This likely includes your family.

- zadadka, on 05/15/2008, -0/+2Whilst the phrase "the Devil's in the detail" may be true, I fear far to many senior politicians have their heads so far embedded in minutiae that they simply cannot have anything else but a distracted view of their country and its people's overall needs, going forward.
There is a very good reason why the phrase "heads up" exists. - defy, on 05/15/2008, -0/+8I'll have to uh... respectfully decline your invitation.

- greenlight2001, on 05/15/2008, -0/+4You're being dug down, but you are, in fact, correct.

- bcuban, on 05/15/2008, -2/+2A true geeks response. Do you just evaluate Interface designs or have you ever actually read a book?
- Jsmuli2, on 05/15/2008, -0/+1My job is to evaluate interface designs, and reading a book is a big hobby of mine (average book has black text on white background).
It looks like you created this website, so you can take what I said as something that can help your site or you can cry and pretend everything you do is perfect.
I read the article and I completely agree, but at the same time, my eyes are killing me because I was not able to see the text clearly.

- linkjuice, on 05/15/2008, -0/+0Thanks for pointing this out and providing links to the published reports of some interesting senate investigations...
- BrokenVisage, on 05/15/2008, -0/+1Goon-dell is a biased, apathetic, appeaser who just wants Spygate to go away. Why should we trust his assessment in this situation? Independent investigation NEEDS to happen here, I don't care who does it but if congress has to step in for it to happen then so be it.
- trixterIreland, on 05/15/2008, -0/+0The constitution specifically grants congress the right to hold tribunals inferior to the supreme court (Article I Section 8 somewhere around clause 8 iirc). However this is an abuse of both power and tax payer dollars.
The NFL spygate is not an illegal thing, its a NFL rule violation. Further the federal government is not without limits on its powers (see the 10th amendment, any power not *specifically* given to the feds in the constitution is a right of the state or the people). So unless something like Article I Section 8 Clause 3 (interstate nad foreign commerce clause) is met, and spying on a foreign coach doesnt even seem likely that it is interstate or foreign commerce, the feds dont even have jurisdiction.
vote for the constitution, if a elected official proposes a bill, votes for a bill, or otherwise proposes an agency, program, or other thing that is not constitutional do not vote for them, if possible recall them but certainly dont reelect them. Make them fear the people again instead of trying to squeze the people beneath their thumb.- wildthing202200, on 05/15/2008, -0/+1Well the only reason why the US govt. gets involved is because of the Anti-Trust exemptions that the pro sport leagues get. The NFL & MLB has exemptions and if there's something that ruins the competition of the leagues the govt. might remove the exemptions that both of them hold. This would involve player's contracts, tv deals, stadium deals, etc.
- whatthefu, on 05/15/2008, -0/+2Dugg for the title.
- theRedLasso, on 05/15/2008, -0/+0there are so many cheats in the NFL, i love how everyone wants to pick on the the Pats because of the rule violation. what about the well documented steroid abuses by the steelers in the 70s and 80s (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Steroid_use_in_Americ ... what about the salary cap violations by the Broncos when they were winning superbowls (http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A289 ... (they did get punished though...)
there are so many friggen problems in the nfl, cheating should just be part of the game. i almost wish there was a league where steroids and cheating was allowed....not that would be fun to watch.
but hey, its fun to bash the best team ever in football though. - Nerolus, on 05/16/2008, -0/+1Dugg for the title. My mind is in the gutter.
