Israel's response to Kassams must be disproportionate!

I can only think that you and Israeli rag of a right-wing website are sub-human and uncivilized to believe that meeting violence with overwhelming violence actually works. For peace, Israel must recognize Palestine's right to exist and withdraw its troops and settler/squatters back to the 1967 Green Line and formally declare its borders.

Israel has been able to make peace with both Egypt and Jordan? Not diplomatic enough? The only people they seem to have trouble making peace with are the countries that continue to support terrorist action against it. As for disproportionate that is a totally subjective statement. Hezbollah had thousands of rockets trained on Israel. Israel's response to their attack and kidnapped of their soldiers was to try to get them back. The resulting fighting caused Hezbollah to launch it's rockets and thus escalated the conflict even futher. So Israel's actions weren't disproportionate, their actions were fighting a war that Hezbollah started. Oddly enough Lebanon's government said they were unable to disarm Hezbollah like they were supposed to do but they seem to have ample military might to fight the Palestinians in the refugee camp. One can only speculate that people in their had ties to Hezbollah and that is the real reason they refused to do anything.
Finally the 1967 Green Line is not a border, the Arab countries made sure that was in the armistice. The border needs to be negotiated but the Palestinian government seems incapable of even doing that. - chrisjj, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3@hadees
You raise many points but they all look like excuses to me. Well since, (given your perspective) you're not likely to value Arab lives as much as Jewish or Western European lives, consider the fact that Israel is perfectly willing to kill UN Peace Keepers, British journalists, and American peace activists. You and your ilk always blame the Arabs for your aggression and never do any kind of introspection and self-criticism. There is absolutely nothing to stop Israel from unilaterally declaring its borders at the Green Line and withdrawing its military and settler/squatters out of the occupied territories. One can only speculate that the reason Israel has not obeyed international law is that they want to drive the indigenous Palestinians into Jordon or some such 'non-Jewish' country. Basically you do not have any good argument as to the justice of Israel's actions because Israel has always failed to respect or obey the justice as enshrined in international law (most notably the Geneva Convention re Home Demolitions/imprisonments/Jews only roads, and the Palestinian 'Right of Return') . The Palestinians are a proud people and need to be freed, and there is a fast growing movement among the general public in the USA to have our government reign in on Israel's rampant and indescriminate violations of human rights.
