- jud420, on 02/17/2008, -9/+760Its cops like this that make them all look bad. What a douche.
- thenativeraver, on 02/17/2008, -151/+31Cops are all douche bags.
- Eiknujrac, on 02/17/2008, -15/+99No, they're not. I come from a family of law enforcement. Douche bags like this make everyone think all cops are bad.
- Bhima, on 02/17/2008, -7/+66But the reasonable cops don't do enough to restrain the unreasonable cops.
- mal1964, on 02/17/2008, -6/+19What can the reasonable cops do? If you have a job and your co-workers screw up, what can you do? Isn't that the supervisors job to correct mistakes, and discipline appropriately, or is it the co-workers?"restrain" you cant do .
- bitterbug, on 02/17/2008, -2/+18Familiar with the term "blue wall"?
Whether it's the police, the military or some other uniformed group, even the good guys will protect a scumbag rather than risk being labeled a rat. - Nitesmoke, on 02/17/2008, -1/+15@ mal1964:" What can the reasonable cops do? If you have a job and your co-workers screw up, what can you do? Isn't that the supervisors job to correct mistakes, and discipline appropriately, or is it the co-workers?"restrain" you cant do ."
Reasonable cops can do their jobs. You made a bad point equating law enforcement to other jobs. It is not the job of a grocery store clerk to ensure other clerks are doing their job correctly, but it is the job of a police officer to enforce the law, especially if another officer is the one breaking it. Police are the enforcers of the law. If someone breaks it, it is their job to arrest them, whether they are police or not. Why is it cops have no problem arresting a teenager with a joint but turn a blind eye to a dirty cop. If more cops would do their job we wouldn't have such a big problem. - dunk71, on 02/17/2008, -0/+19And to be suspended with pay while being investigated? A paid vacation for assaulting a minor hardly seems appropriate action from the Police Dept.
- mal1964, on 02/17/2008, -7/+2@nitesmoke
"Why is it cops have no problem arresting a teenager with a joint but turn a blind eye to a dirty cop"
I respect your opinion, but when generalize statements are used to favor a point, I think it adds up to = bias
I also believe that being a cop is a job. - mal1964, on 02/17/2008, -4/+1@nitesmoke
"we wouldn't have such a big problem"
I think its a problem and at a certain level that will never change, But i also think you are overstating it. - Nitesmoke, on 02/17/2008, -1/+4@mal1964, if you are ever on the receiving end of a "bad" cops anger you might not think I'm overstating anything. Do a youtube search on police and look at the hundreds of videos of cops being dicks.
- mal1964, on 02/17/2008, -3/+2@nitesmoke
Now I can say a fact!. Because yes i have been, and it was from a bad cop in st paul mn, He was one cop, there was not a single file line with the rest of the department behind him.
This a fact. - mal1964, on 02/17/2008, -3/+3I will add a little detail to what happen. I was picked up for a DUI, so I was drunk and stupid. on the way downtown I was being a smart-ass from the back seat, things like i know the mayor and he will fire you, i have the best lawyer in town, You know dumb things that some people say when drunk and i was 21. on the elevator ride he, while i had my big mouth flapping elbowed me a few times in the mouth. I was going to sue everyone in the city that night and they gave me a card for internal affairs. but the next day i just said ***** it, i was a drunk idiot. And just because i was a drunk smart-ass its no different from hitting anyone that's perfectly Innocent . so don't try to argue that.
- mal1964, on 02/17/2008, -4/+24Not me, I'm not dumb enough to think just because a small percentage of cops are bad, that all cops are bad.
- JEWestbrookJR, on 02/17/2008, -2/+29For real. Last night there was a cop outside my house shining his flashlight in my car and inspecting it. I thought he must be some douche bag cop just looking for trouble. I went out there and he said my car had been reported driving through a fence and fleeing the scene ten minutes earlier. If he wanted to be a dick, he could have thrown me to the ground and arrested me. But since he was a nice reasonable man he let me explain that there must be some sort of mistake and I haven't driven in over two hours. So he double checked the reported tag number with the dispatcher and admitted that there was a mistake and was extremely apologetic. That's a good cop.
- SpectralSounds, on 02/18/2008, -0/+2Yeah, that was his story so you didnt bitch at him for looking into your car for no reason. I would have called the police department to verify the officers story. If he was doing his job great, but there was at least a 50/50 chance that he was just looking for something to bust you on.
- bluenullity, on 02/19/2008, -1/+1@SpectralSounds way to let paranoia take over your life.
- SofaKingAwesome, on 02/17/2008, -5/+22Can't the good ones police their own? Weed out the ass-hats? Because if they can't; they aren't good cops either.
- imikedaman, on 02/17/2008, -4/+7That raises two questions:
1. Who's to say they don't? These types of videos only represent a few of however many hundreds of thousands of cops out there, and we of course never hear about all the cases that were correctly handled by law enforcement.
2. It might not be possible to determine which cops act out-of-line when they're not in the station. I'd wager that most people never report bad policing (either out of complacency, assuming the cop acted within his rights, or - in the worst-case scenario - being threatened by the bad cop), and the cops aren't constantly monitored by their superiors. - SteeleJK, on 02/17/2008, -1/+3I doubt cops would do that to there own. They have kind of a pact they keep to protect one another even if they are wrong, to a certain extent of course. Did you see the vid where the cop dumps out the man in the wheelchair. None of the other cops said a word. They all protect eachother.
- mal1964, on 02/17/2008, -3/+1@steel
one had to, how did the tape surface? they knew it was on tape. You don't think they know how to change or alter the tape?
- imikedaman, on 02/17/2008, -4/+7That raises two questions:
- keraneuology, on 02/17/2008, -15/+13Eiknujrac - I'll bet you anything that your "family of law enforcement" will bend over backwards to protect a bad cop. Bad cop is a reckless driver? I'll bet you anything they won't write a ticket. Smoking pot? I'll bet you anything they'll never turn him in. Caught DUI? How many times will they quietly just give a ride home? Bad cop lies about an incident and your "family of law enforcement" sees him planting evidence? If they -don't- cover for the bad cop then the next time they call for help because a burglar has a gun the backup will probably be a little slower in coming. The infamous prison experiment clearly demonstrates what power and authority will do. There is NOTHING in the current system that serves to check this.
Not all cops are bad, but all cops will either cover for the bad cop or put their own lives at risk.- se1zure, on 02/17/2008, -7/+8wrong.
- Eiknujrac, on 02/17/2008, -4/+3Apparently you have watched to many movies from Hollywood. Your ignorance is astounding. Move along.
- Tazmaster, on 02/17/2008, -3/+23That small percentage of bad cops are surrounded by the rest of their coworkers, which you call good cops. These "good cops" don't stop the bad cops from doing their harm.
Just look at the video that was submitted a few days ago of a cop dumping a quadriplegic from his wheelchair. .. in the lobby of the police station. No one did a thing to stop it. One cop even walked away with a big smile on his face, as if it was funny.
If cops want people to believe that the "bad cops" are just a small part of the force, then they need to show us the "good cops" are not willing to put up with their behavior. Period. Otherwise, they ARE bad cops, too.
(good grief, what's up with the spacing in between paragraphs? sorry.)- imikedaman, on 02/17/2008, -3/+5Couldn't it just be that the other cops in the video were bad cops too? Your argument relies on two ridiculous claims being true:
1. That the other cops in the video are good cops
2. If those good cops didn't do anything, then no cop will ever do anything
And the double-spacing is just a visual glitch on the submitter's end; the comment will display fine after refreshing and on other computers.
- imikedaman, on 02/17/2008, -3/+5Couldn't it just be that the other cops in the video were bad cops too? Your argument relies on two ridiculous claims being true:

- Roryking, on 02/17/2008, -9/+78Man, you must be the toughest kid in the 7th grade.
- scrappyvintage, on 02/17/2008, -37/+21Cops for the most part are Douchebags, EXTREMELY. Notice how someone always comes from "a family of law enforcement". It's like a ***** cult.
Proof is in the pudding, most cops are ***** egomaniacs. Dugg up to spite half the "pro-legalization" digg retards in here who think cops are great.
***** hypocrites.- darkmotion, on 02/17/2008, -7/+15Why are you putting his family down? For all you know his family might be better natured than your own. Looking at your attitude, I would not be surprised.
- Volatile, on 02/17/2008, -2/+2You haven't met every single cop in the world. Who are you to say what most cops are like? Your gross global generalizations say a lot about your attitude, which may be what's causing your bad experiences with cops. Or maybe you've never even met a cop and are judging them all based on youtube videos.
- scrappyvintage, on 02/17/2008, -3/+3I also never met every British Redcoat, nor have I ever met every Nazi SS officer. We generalize them, who's to say they were ALL BAD? Me. Because as a collective unit (just like when you choose to work at an arms plant or taser manufacturer) they chose to represent the evil in this country.
Remember Digg kiddies, when you choose to represent a company or organization that tries to play god, making its own laws, THE BLOOD IS ON YOUR HANDS AS WELL. ***** THE POLICE.- mal1964, on 02/17/2008, -2/+1What do you do for a living?
- scrappyvintage, on 02/17/2008, -2/+3@mal1964
Another idiot who can't grasp reality.
I know what your trying to say,"[but, but]...You probably have one of those type jobs, Scrappy *****!"
Yep, you're right. I do.
The Exception? I don't get paid leave for ***** up. We're all guilty, I'm punished for my transgressions on the spot (not AFTER the internal affairs inquiry). If I smoke pot, I'm arrested ON THE SPOT, unlike:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hnZb5wi_jsU
And if I were to
http://www.metacafe.com/watch/115084/cop_beat_up
-or-
http://www.break.com/index/riotfight.html
I'd be thrown in jail INSTANTLY, WITHOUT any INTERNAL INQUIRY, and probably WITHOUT BAIL.
So, move on, move on apologists. Your arguments are baseless. - mal1964, on 02/17/2008, -2/+1I worked in hotels most of my life in the food and beverage area, I retired at 40, 43 now. so you smoke pot for a living?
- scrappyvintage, on 02/17/2008, -0/+3again, @mal1964
What, are you the feds or something? Just cut to the chase. - mal1964, on 02/18/2008, -2/+2Wow good guess yes i am "something"
- takamalak, on 02/17/2008, -7/+17Remember guys, thenativeraver is a well known conservative here on digg. Nice.
- Nitesmoke, on 02/17/2008, -1/+8what difference does that make? a conservative's opinion is less valid?
- EntangledPhysx, on 02/17/2008, -1/+2I'm a conservative, and he does not speak for one conservative I know.
- AndreasTh, on 02/17/2008, -7/+28douche bag cops makes douche bags think all cops are douche bags

- schotty, on 02/17/2008, -1/+7Actually, this ignorant american thought that comment was pretty well done. Nice summary. Ignorant or not, I salute you.
- usingpond, on 02/17/2008, -6/+2That sums up your post nicely.
- AndreasTh, on 02/17/2008, -4/+6Sorry for the "douche bags" vs "douchebags.". My bad, sorry :P // Ignorant Swede
- SRSco, on 02/17/2008, -11/+1I'd like to bring up the point that douchebag should be one word...not two.
- AndreasTh, on 02/17/2008, -6/+5Ops. Sorry, my bad / Ignorant Swede
- Bhima, on 02/17/2008, -0/+6yeah? So what is Douchebag is Swedish? Digg a multicultural affair we should all be learning how to be insulting in various languages, Vollidiot!
- AndreasTh, on 02/17/2008, -0/+5:) We don't have bad words in Sweden (...)
Except "yaarrr", "landkrabba" ("gå på plankan din landkrabba!"" (walk the plank, landlubber!)) :P
Kedding.. Well, idiot is Swedish for idiot.. Pretty much international. I love the word "Vollidiot", thanks for "sharing" that :)
- AndreasTh, on 02/17/2008, -6/+5Ops. Sorry, my bad / Ignorant Swede
- lordmetroid, on 02/17/2008, -6/+6O ahree they are all douches, working for the state forcing peaceful people into slavery of their masters!
- hmunkey, on 02/17/2008, -9/+2So, you must be an anarchist. I'd recommend you to Kenya or Nigeria.
- se1zure, on 02/17/2008, -5/+3Remember that next time somone robs your house, steals your car, tries to stab you, or pretty much any time you need law enforcement. Because if ever call the cops for help, your way more of a douche bag than you claim they are.
- cmackattack, on 02/17/2008, -2/+3
someone robs your house; see insurance.
steals your car; see insurance.
tries to stab you; see second amendment.
pretty much any time you need law enforcement; To get a pistol permit, as the second amendment is dying? Okay...- Verdanic, on 02/17/2008, -3/+2...
robs a bank, kills a guy, kidnaps somebody, traffics drugs, runs a red.. need I go on? I don't think the argument that police don't do anything is an easy one to make.

- bluezinc, on 02/17/2008, -2/+43It's like he's on a mission to be a complete asshat. Like there's an angel following him around and he can't go to heaven unless he makes Rivieri the most hated man in the world.
- Nerfdude, on 02/18/2008, -0/+2i'm picturing more of a Quantum Leap scenario.
- rspeed, on 02/18/2008, -0/+1So just replace "an angel" with "a guy named Al" and "to heaven" with "home".
- fatlip, on 02/18/2008, -1/+1THAT MOTHER *****
and no i'm not sorry for the comment abuse.
p.s. that whole suspended with pay thing is b.s.- mal1964, on 02/18/2008, -0/+1Its a union thing, Plus it has to be investigated. what we see looks very clear, but it still has to be proved. This statement is always popular ; We really don't know the whole story.
- cawpin, on 02/18/2008, -0/+1So is he suspended WITH or WITHOUT pay? The description says without but the video says with. Maybe they changed it after this video popped up?
I'm usually one of the few on here to defend the police in these situations. Even the first video of this guy with the skateboarder didn't show him doing anything against procedure but this one makes me think the guy really need to be taken off the force. He's obviously too high strung for the job. I personally can't believe the guy in this video didn't release it when it happened.
- Nerfdude, on 02/18/2008, -0/+2i'm picturing more of a Quantum Leap scenario.
- gernblansted, on 02/17/2008, -3/+47Bad cops are a cop's worst enemy.
- taboam, on 02/17/2008, -0/+110someone one should just tip over his tiny car and sit on the door.
- tectiki, on 02/17/2008, -2/+8roflmao
- moonshn, on 02/17/2008, -3/+50it's probably because of that little car they make him drive
- mecenday, on 02/17/2008, -1/+81He was totally jealous that the RC car was bigger than his. Compensating.
- Ultra99, on 02/17/2008, -0/+1I wonder how much it cost to buy that silly ass looking 2 mph electric buggy thing to haul that guy's fat ass around in. Seriously, what's the point? It sure as heck isn't gonna win any pursuits or anything or offer any more protection than a friggin raincoat. Or is this just what they give to the idiots who don't have the hand-eye coordination to be bicycle cops?
- Gregd, on 02/17/2008, -5/+19Where are his fellow "good" cops when this asshat is acting this way? Seriously. If the good cops starting ostracizing the bad cops, we might begin to see a change in police forces across the country. Ignoring it is just as bad as condoning it.
- grgt1994, on 02/17/2008, -2/+11Ignoring bad behavior IS condoning it. I think you meant to say it's as bad as doing it.
- Syric, on 02/17/2008, -4/+2Where are they? They're investigating his ass and putting him on suspension.
- wickedawsome, on 02/17/2008, -0/+11...which means they are waiting on things to cool off and putting him on paid vacation.
- vampacman, on 02/17/2008, -1/+1im starting to think that the romans had it correct. their armies fought harder through means of decimation. if they lost a battle 1/10th of their surviving number would be killed. a similar system would work wonders to straighten up guys like that.

- adrenaline33, on 02/17/2008, -0/+2It's standard procedure that cops get suspended with pay while under investigation. These two weeks might be a vacation for him, but you can bet he wont be happy when he gets fired and the 17 years he worked toward his pension go up in flames.
- NDUO, on 02/18/2008, -1/+2Anyone got his mailing address?
http://www.mailadouche.com/ - OriginalReplica, on 02/18/2008, -0/+2No. Wrong. If he had been fired after the first time, then it would be "one bad cop" but they put him back on the street as soon as the media backed off. That means the Baltimore Police condone his actions. Every single cop in Baltimore is part of the group that supports this guy. They are all bad cops. Push any long time cop to be honest and they will tell you that they view everyone as criminals, except soccer moms and other cops.

There's his address! - laserpig, on 02/18/2008, -1/+0I totally agree. I've never had a bad experience with a cop -- I mean yeah I've had confrontations, but they've never crossed the line from doing their job to being an *****.
Then just one in a hundred are douchebags like this guy, and they end up giving all cops a bad rap. - Noods, on 02/18/2008, -0/+1The police here in Baltimore are CORRUPT. It is well known they don't file police reports and incorrectly report the reports they do record to make the numbers look better. I can't say how many times I have been at family gatherings to hear my relatives who are Baltimore City police officers brag about how they have stepped all over "the ***** in the city". ***** police here are dirt. O'Malley is just as corrupt. Remember that name. One day you are going to hear it in national politics.

- DCJoeDogaswell, on 02/17/2008, -1/+76This video is great because it shows one very important thing, that he has a history of aggression and abuse of authority
- stopbrorape, on 02/17/2008, -0/+8never see this on the wire.
- franklymister, on 02/17/2008, -0/+7Yeah, actually - this season one of the cops dragged a schoolteacher out of his car because he honked his horn. Part of the storyline is how the other cops react, and whether they decide to turn him in or let him get away with it.
- PabloMac, on 02/17/2008, -0/+25So far only two videos of this (insert expletive here) in action have surfaced. That makes me wonder how many similar incidents have occurred that weren't recorded.

just losing his jobs isn't enough
they need recognition of having been wronged and there was not always a camera present

what procedure will be in place to get those corrupt, violent thugs sons of a bitch ? - shodanx, on 02/17/2008, -6/+0what about the 100s others that were harrassed and had their freedom curtailed

- metalgel, on 02/17/2008, -10/+2you know what else never changes? the attitude of punk ass teen skateboarders. i love watching them get abused and act like douches just as much as the cops do.
the cops AND skateboarders are both entertainment to me. :D- lougoose, on 02/18/2008, -1/+2Thank you. And is officer Rivieri your older or younger brother?
- metalgel, on 02/18/2008, -1/+1nope, im 23. im just saying i laugh my ass off every time i see these videos because its funny to see skateboarder kids get roughed up and their boards tossed and broken. its funny to see the cop lose his mind too. like i said both are quality entertainment. good *****. keep burying!

- BrapAllgood, on 02/17/2008, -0/+17No, I do believe that it would be the stick that is obviously quite painfully jammed up his ass that is causing him the most discomfort. Well, one can hope, anyway.

- mycoplasma, on 02/17/2008, -0/+3I sure hope he doesn't lose his wheels. His first video provided me with so much entertainment. It would be shame to see him and his go-kart leave the Baltimore police force
- Yamahaha, on 02/17/2008, -0/+8I see a pattern here. The skateboard and tiny RC car are way cooler than his little clown car so he must destroy them.
Either that or there is just not much crime around that area of town so he gets bored and has to attack people who are having some fun. - blasian, on 02/17/2008, -0/+2I'd like to see him in a low speed getaway attempt if they do try to take his ride.

- smacksaw, on 02/17/2008, -5/+25I was thinking that this guy deserves a taste of his own medicine, someone in power over him harassing him and threatening his well-being.
But then I realised that it's probably what made him this way to begin with. As a child, he was probably beaten by a revolving door of drunk men screwing his mother while his father was in prison for something violent that he has clearly passed along to officer Rivieri's gene pool.
We can wait for him to meltdown with a heart attack, but he'll still be hurting people until that happens. Really, he should apply for a lateral transfer to be a guard at Guantanamo Bay or work for Blackwater. Not that it would be a punishment for someone like him. He'd think he had won the lottery. I don't think he's losing any sleep over the regular people he abuses.- DephexTwin, on 02/17/2008, -3/+14Yeah, he can start abusing Middle Eastern people who haven't been convicted of any crime... at least it will keep him away from the white people.

- richardpryor, on 02/18/2008, -4/+0Yes, there are cops like that out there but those are the exceptions to what cops are supposed to do. You can't live your life and base opinions on the basis of exceptions. You need to graduate high school, son, before you try to make opinions.

- BaronSamedi242, on 02/17/2008, -1/+4What he'd have to do is rat out another cop beating his wife, or selling drugs.
THEN they'd fire him.
His job is secure. It just means a longer paid vacation. - AmICoolNow, on 02/17/2008, -0/+16Exactly. If we have two videos of this cop abusing people, imagine how many altercations there have been NOT caught on tape.
- Frnnkdlxx, on 02/17/2008, -11/+3In texas, cops are being caught just blowing black peoples heads off with their guns. They stop them at a light, come to their window, and shoot them. I know of three cases so far. It's absolutely unbelievable. I believe it was in Austin or Dallas. The police state is gearing up, and blacks always get the worst end of the stick. Nice to hear everybody being so civil here. "OOH! HE SHOULD BE FIRED! WE SHOULD SUSPEND HIM! HA HA! LOOKS LIKE HE'S GOING TO LOSE HIS AWESOME RIDE!" Whereas if he was a black cop, or these were black victims, the cult of personality of you freaks would shift. You all disgust me.

- SydBarrett420, on 02/17/2008, -0/+3Don't think for a second security gaurds aren't in cahoots with cops. Around here we have Wackenhut security and believe you me, if Wackenhut says something to the police about someone they police will be on that person wrestling them to the ground. A good majority of these security types used to be cops. I have even seen Wackenhut use physical force on people and cops pile on with them after the fact.
- SlimFastForYou, on 02/17/2008, -0/+4Well, if you can document it, it's abuse of authority - security guards can only ask you to do things and call the cops if you don't comply. If you're stealing something, maybe they can try to take you down but typically they are only allowed to defend themselves. Unless your area has different laws than around here (central california).
- Combat, on 02/17/2008, -0/+6I've worked as a security guard before. They don't have any power whatsoever.

- Qtip42, on 02/17/2008, -0/+52I like how the investigation takes weeks or months when it's on video that the guy is whacked out of his skull.
- WinMacLin, on 02/17/2008, -1/+22That's not how justice works when a police officer is the perpetrator.
In the real world, cops look after cops and even a guy like him will find his cop buddies taking as long as possible to go through that investigation. I bet his not even worried about retribution from this. At the least he will be back working in the police force, maybe not on the streets but in an office. And at the most he'll get a referral for a security guard job.
There really is no justice in this world for the average people when it comes to police brutality. People who really want to make a difference speak out. People who want power become Police officers. And people who want respect without earning it become Police Commissioner.- bliz, on 02/17/2008, -1/+5Sadly, that's the real world.

- VANOS, on 02/17/2008, -0/+7Ah... with pay. You don't have to work, but we'll still pay your sorry ass. Just like suspending little punks at school. Do something bad because you hate school? We'll punish you by not making you come for a few days.
I miss common sense. - COBalance, on 02/19/2008, -0/+0He can stay at home and watch the news reports of himself while getting paid. I bet he's calling his buddies, proudly telling them he's on TV. What a sad, power-tripping fat man.

- doctorfungi, on 02/17/2008, -3/+80I'm usually the one on here that defends cops. This guy, however, I'm not sticking up for. He's the exact kind of cop that make the rest look bad. What a douche.
- OriginalReplica, on 02/18/2008, -0/+1They put him back on the force after the first time, that isn't one bad cop, that's a bad police force. There maybe a few honest men in the Baltimore PD, but there are no good cops if they allow him to still be a cop. By letting him back they are condoning his actions, that makes them sanctioned thugs. To be the "good guys" you have to have a strong moral core, the Baltimore PD has shown that they lack a moral core, so now they are just self-righteous jerks with guns.

Am I missing something?- duffahtolla, on 02/17/2008, -0/+7Listen to the video report. It actually says "with" pay at the end. Google his name and 'pay' and the majority of sites state "with" pay. Still, there's room for doubt but he's a cop and its just an internal investigation. My money is on "with" pay.

- TheJokerV, on 02/18/2008, -0/+3Well it would suck if someone accused an innocent cop of something and he was suspended without pay. Remember, the foundation of our legal system is innocent till proven guilty.

- SausageSmith, on 02/17/2008, -7/+54Why can't power-scum like this understand that skateboarding (like many other outlets that humans need to adopt in life) is an important activity that helps with personal challenges and motivation building? Would they prefer kids to, aww I don't know, get involved in REAL criminal activity for instance?
- tghd, on 02/17/2008, -0/+8That is not the problem here. If your not allowed to skate in the area then stay away! The problem is the form in which he reacted. Although I agree, skateboarding is a great thing to do it's not the issue.
- Tahiri, on 02/17/2008, -4/+2Skateboarding is not important at all.
- barandon0D9, on 02/17/2008, -0/+7But busting kids for skateboarding is so much easier than dealing with actual crime. Plus they are easier to bully, which is good for cops self-esteem.
- sdigroup, on 02/17/2008, -52/+9hey dude, Not all Cops are douchbags just because the actions of a few assholes does not make it right for you to say all of them are. They deal with alot of BS out there to protect your ass.
- scrappyvintage, on 02/17/2008, -16/+47Wait, let me make sure I get it straight.
"They deal with a lot of BS out there to protect your ass."
Yeah, and that's on MY ***** dollar. That is THEIR ***** JOB. THEIR JOB IS TO ENFORCE THE LAW, NOT TO CREATE IT, *****.
"[but, but]..Not all cops are douchebags just because the actions of a few assholes...."
WOW, WHAT AN UNDERSTATEMENT. When the COLLECTIVE POLICE FORCE of Baltimore puts this guy on PAID LEAVE, they just put their names on my *****. EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM.
Your argument is so out of touch with reality. WHO ARE YOU REPLYING TO, ANYWAY? Not one person in here has said anything about cops in general. Well here, don't want you to feel like to much of a retard, let me give you some appreciation. ***** COPS. ***** THE MAJORITY OF PIG SCUM in this country. They remind me, as A WHOLE, of the British Gov't of old world America.- SRSco, on 02/17/2008, -24/+3Okay, turn off your RANDOM CAPS LOCK GREASEMONKEY script you have on and CALM THE ***** DOWN.
I just wanted to point out what a MORAN you ARE for saying "on MY ***** dollar." Give me a break. I can't stand idiots who have this sense of entitlement because they are taxed a few dollars (there is no way somebody who types as stupid as you [and uses ethnic slurs like you do elsewhere on this thread] has a job that pays over $25,000 a year). - ventralnet, on 02/17/2008, -4/+11Hey i love making generalizations about large groups of people based on the actions of a few.... for example
1. All police suck ass and should be killed because of hte video we see
2. All black people are worthless because all they do is run gangs and drink 40oz and eat watermelon
3. All mexicans are so lazy and are beneath me since they will work for minimal wages
4. All jews are money grubing scum
Right, scrappyvintage??- KLowD9x, on 02/17/2008, -6/+3Replace "all" with "most" and you're about there. Except the Jews part, Jews are cool.
- ventralnet, on 02/17/2008, -2/+3shutup kyle
- scrappyvintage, on 02/17/2008, -2/+3Who's making broad sweeping generalizations now?
You know, you're just the type of idiot I like to have comment on me. We (the collective United States of America) voted a president into office who is a complete *****. WE ARE ALL GUILTY. When the COLLECTIVE police force chooses to put a scumbag on PAID leave for video that PROVES he is a violent egomaniac, THEY ARE ALL GUILTY.
Let me drill this into your puny little mind: The collective police force is a large group of ASSHOLES. Do you refer to the BRITISH REDCOATS of the 1700's as hero's? Cuz' I'm sure some of them would have been super in your opinion, too.
You're incorrect for labeling me a racist, and ***** you for doing that. I'm Italian, I can say GUIDO all I want you ***** scumbag.- ventralnet, on 02/17/2008, -1/+1Well I wasn't really calling you a racist, but i suppose you are an idiot. I was calling out the hypocrisy of your statement. I'm not sure what the redcoats have to do with anything. The redcoats were a military enemy.
- scrappyvintage, on 02/17/2008, -2/+1No, dude, they were sent to police as well. Remember the quartering acts (you we're legally obligated to quarter British troops)? Executions of citizens, legal raping and other abuses were enacted by the British AGAINST AMERICAN CITIZENS. Read a ***** book before you comment, *****.
But you don't read, you get your facts from Digg.com. So stay ignoramous moron, we don't need docile imbeciles like yourself reading the constitution anyway. - ventralnet, on 02/18/2008, -1/+1oh wow you're right i see such parallels today! moron
- KLowD9x, on 02/17/2008, -6/+3Replace "all" with "most" and you're about there. Except the Jews part, Jews are cool.
- Syric, on 02/17/2008, -2/+3I guess you're against due process of law, which, may I remind you, is in the ***** CONSTITUTION?
The Baltimore City Police have set INTERNAL AFFAIRS on an investigation of Rivieri, while he is SUSPENDED, may I remind you. If that's not handling it in your book, I have no respect for you.- scrappyvintage, on 02/17/2008, -0/+3Paid leave, ***** retard. He's on vacation for:
a.) Telling an individual that he cannot be in a public place (ILLEGAL BY OUR CONSTITUTION)
b.) Disorderly conduct (If I were to kick over a toy car in public, and act like Rivieri, I'D BE IN ***** JAIL ON PRETENSE)
c.) You know, ***** IT. Half the morons on Digg will bury my comments before they finish reading all my reasons anyway...
I hate police apologists like yourself. You side with the proverbial British Redcoats.- ventralnet, on 02/17/2008, -0/+3Hmm obviously you don't know digg.. those are the comments that will be popular lol
- sovietninja, on 02/17/2008, -0/+3Lmao and Due Process of Law involves "law enforcement" officers to break this due process of law in order to enforce it. As protected by the Constiution and the stupidity of Syric. And a department of internal affairs that has to investigate a youtube video is not doing their job if they have to even see it more than once. What takes so long? Most people on digg could see that he was way out of line within the first 20 secs and the rest of the video just proves how ***** crazy this ***** is.
The amount of time they are spending just shows you how retarded this whole Internal Coverup I mean Affairs department is. It takes a cop 2 secs to decide to pull you over and cite you for a moving violation but it takes weeks for them to do so internally.
IS that due process of law?

Yes, they do a tough job, but only because we neglect society so that it's a tough job. I mean, a cardiac surgeon has a tough job to save heart attack patients all the time. Then again, if these people didn't eat ***** Oreo cookies and Crisco-fried chicken all the time they wouldn't have heart problems and the cardiac surgeon would not have the opportunity to perform heroics.- sovietninja, on 02/17/2008, -0/+1You should read Hobbes Leviathan and come back with your findings and your changed opinion.

- tastypaste, on 02/17/2008, -0/+174He should be thrown in jail for assault. He grabbed that skater kid in a choke hold and slammed him to the ground, without provocation. If ANY adult did that, they'd be prosecuted. And if this other video is any indication, this isn't the first time he's done this, just one of the few times he was caught on camera doing it. I see no reason why Officer Dude should be above the law.
- deadcrickets, on 02/17/2008, -0/+23Never happen. Extremely rare for cops to get the same charges for the same incidents that normal civilians get. That's why a lot of them do stuff like this. No accountability.
- isaactwito, on 02/17/2008, -0/+5And that's why America is about to ***** die. People can't stand up to any ***** anymore because THE ENTIRE ***** GOVERNMENT WORKS AGAINST US. Why have we lost our voices and our abilities to confront this system in a fair way? We're the criminals when we try to correct the problems that the government causes.
- thecatcantalk, on 02/17/2008, -0/+2...and that's why hardly anyone trusts the government, in any shape or form, anymore. Every time an otherwise good cop conceals knowledge of a crime committed by his colleagues, or a police chief refuses to condemn violent criminal activity committed by officers under his command, they destroy public trust in their profession, and place good cops in real danger of being killed in the line of duty by citizens whom have learned that their local police are the most dangerous and lawless gang around.
Assault and battery is a felony; if a cop does it, it's aggravated assault and battery; but like you said, good luck getting any D.A. to prosecute.
They won't change their behavior until it gets so bad that citizens start shooting at them whenever they get out of their cars...it's gotten so bad that only the promise of sudden, violent death is powerful enough to frighten a modern American cop into acting like a decent human being. Not that I advocate any such thing; that would be a terrible state of affairs.
But the alternative is for District Attorneys to start actually prosecuting criminals in uniform, and that may never happen. We've become just like Mexico, in this regard. The only people who are safe from police terrorism, are gangsters with automatic weapons, and the very rich. It's open season on the rest of us, and the cops know it. That's why they don't even try to control themselves, even when they KNOW they're being videotaped attacking little kids, as Officer Silvieri was.

- BaronSamedi242, on 02/17/2008, -1/+2Yeah, if only we had some kind of proof, like video of him screaming out his name while assaulting a kid. I mean, if someone was to scream out his name while committing a crime, that would be "retard criminal of the week award" - unless of course the crook has a badge.

- AvidPreatorian, on 02/17/2008, -0/+2i totally agree, suspended with pay means he's on paid vacation - it's total *****. he should be suspended without pay until the matter is resolved. especially since we all know he'll be back on the job just relocated to a different area. it's injustice and it's becoming trivial these days.

- mutiger, on 02/17/2008, -0/+3i agree, *****. A lot of the public thinks officers become like this from having seen the worst of the worst, so much, but having gone to both highschool and college with a lot of future officers, unfortunately i can say most are like this before they ever get their badge. Not all, there are a few really good people out there who want to be a policeman for the right reasons; probably a quarter of those stay honest, after released into the public. One of my law professors was a metro-dade county veteran, and one of the first few classes, he literally stood up before the class and said, 'You're not supposed to lie on the stand, but seriously: When you're called to the witness stand to present evidence against Joe Blow, who do you think a judge or jury is going to believe? You, an officer in uniform, sworn to uphold the law, or Joe Blow?' We all got his innuendo, loud and clear. Most of the class laughed. ;/
- TwoDeuces, on 02/17/2008, -0/+8The day you see a cop in the ***** part of Baltimore I'll eat my keyboard. They definitely DO NOT go into areas like Sandtown/Winchester. I did some work for Habitat for Humanity one summer and one day while at a build site we were eating lunch and this old cracked out dude came up to us on the front porch and asked us if we wanted to buy nails for our pneumatic nail gun. I said "no we have a whole box in the back". He smiled and said "You sure? I don't think you do." And I responded "Yeah, I'm sur.... wait..." and thats when I realized that he was trying to sell us our own nails that he just stole!!!! We called the cops and 3 hours later a patrol car showed up. fat lot of good that did us.
