I remember reading this in the 'Daily Mirror' a number of years back. I was rather disgusted that they had mentioned this story within a tiny box on the corner of a page. What was said consisted of about a dozen or so words - what happened, death toll and their verdict, which of course was "Accident". At the time, I was rather confused as to why there was little mention or highlight of what I deemed as one of the most important news article that day. Now I know that this is a tabloid - actual news is more of a side attraction. The front page, on the vast majority of days, is dominated by a celebrity news article - often ridiculous and unimportant stories, that are often found to be false. Space is also used up advertising promotions. Papers like the Daily Mirror are not there to inform, I'm now aware. These people just want money, and there is fierce competition between these tabloids. So the most insane and ridiculous headline is usually the winner. Seeing sales of 'The Sun' - Rupert Murdoch owned propaganda, it's obvious that the British public are quite happy reading about *****, celebrities and terrorists. How is anyone going to know anything when 10% of Britain's best selling newspaper actually reports news, always with blatant bias?
I've just realised that the particular event I'm talking about is a different, similar event. The one I'm talking about left 7 dead. A happy couple's relatives decided to celebrate by firing a few rounds into the air, not realising that the US military was nearby. So, they shot missiles down there. Which was a bloody disgrace. The US military obviously did not open their eyes. Wedding parties are hard to mistake. - GrandmaSheila, on 07/07/2008, -1/+15Yes, we're busy making the world safe for democracy, and giving the countries of the ME (aside from Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait, and Dubai, and a couple of others) the benefits of "democratic" rule, so we won't have to fight them over here. To do this, we have to massacre numberless innocent Muslims, anywhere, anytime, even during a wedding, because they shouldn't have been within 50 miles of a potential terrorist hiding place, and anyway, they need to understand that they shouldn't allow terrorists to use them as "shields", since that means we have to kill them to scare off the evildoing, suiciding Islamofascists. And, being Muslims, they're all de facto terrorists, so it's OK to kill them if they happen to be "in the way". And we'll "detain" any survivors, in case they know anything, or even if they don't, because we want to reinforce that message.
THIS depraved ***** is new face of America, courtesy of the NeoCons, and the World understands perfectly, having seen it many times, across many centuries, before. Please digg & shout. - girwen, on 07/07/2008, -1/+10They have the radar set for weddings instead of BinLaden. That's what happens when a guy who couldn't make any one of three oil companies he ran work gets a fourth chance to make his fortune in oil. This time he manages to damn near ruin the best military in the world chasing after oil.

- stienster, on 07/07/2008, -1/+6To The People of The Middle East: Most of us in the west are VERY SORRY for what the governments are doing to the middle eastern countries and peoples. We're doing what we can to get them out of office and even behind bars. Please understand that we have such little control over their actions, but we are heartily sorry and grieved for the astonishing violence, callousness, and murderous evil being perpetrated against the good people of Iraq, Afghanistan, Lebanon, and Iran.

No, you aren't. Maybe 20 people in your country are actually working on this. We watch your news too.- stienster, on 07/07/2008, -0/+1don't watch the news. It's BS. Get your news from alternative web sites. Please.
- ColonelTribune, on 07/07/2008, -1/+3Not to take away from your great comment, but Afghanistan isn't really in the Middle East.
- stienster, on 07/07/2008, -0/+2give me a break here Colonel! I had 9 years of school, no parents around, and was drinking and smoking weed from age 9 until 20 (then I only continued drinking during binges). I have no idea what part of the world Afghanistan is considered to be included in... Northern Asia?-

- russr2001, on 07/07/2008, -0/+1not that the Military has much credibility but ... apparently there is some question as to whether this is true, "...if this incident turns out to be true...". Has there been any verification/follow-up on this story?
