- kigcoopa84, on 07/08/2008, -7/+1Maybe if we pretend everything is ok like FDR did in the beginning of WWII you can have a dollar or so shaved off a gallon of gas. But how long did FDR's policy work? What happened that proved him wrong?
- yellowcakewalk, on 07/08/2008, -2/+7a) It's not the price of gasoline that bothers me. Tax it to death, make it go to $20 per gallon and I'd be happy. What I object to is the greedy plutocrats fleecing everyone. They are driving the price up for their own benefit. It's called profiteering. See how it works?
b) Perhaps you are referring to the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor. That has nothing to do with the current situation. In 1941, Japan was the aggressor. In 2008 it's the neocon lackeys in the USA and Israel that are the agressors. See the difference?
If you need any more questions answered, I'll field them, if they are brief. - kigcoopa84, on 07/08/2008, -8/+2Its not called profiteering its called speculation. The only thing bush has to do with it is world policies, he is not making money.
So with your logic if the U.S took preemptive action on japan, the U.S would have been considered the aggressors.
I was also referring to FDR's polices in Europe.
I don't know why I am wasting my time with you, your obviously lost. I should have left work two minutes ago - medfreak, on 07/09/2008, -1/+4A preemptive action is not preemptive if Iran continuously says it does not want war with the US and Israel

Not to mention, Iran never started a war in the past 150 years, while japan was already occupying most of china on the borders of India when it attacked pearl harbor. - kigcoopa84, on 07/09/2008, -3/+1Ya but japan also said they did not want war with us as they continued to build up there military, and then conducted a raid on Pearl Harbor. And yes they were at war with china so they had a reason. What is Irans reason for building up there military while they are in the process of becoming a nuclear radical country?
- medfreak, on 07/09/2008, -0/+2Erm... because they want to defend themselves from the continuous hostility shown against it since 1978? Because they fought an 8 year war against Iraq that killed millions of their people thanks to the constant support by the United States to Saddam? If any country on earth should build its conventional military, it should be Iran.
There is no indication whatsoever that Iran would ever start a way with the US. They might be religious, but they are not retarded, and know their annihilation would soon follow. But if the US starts an attack or Israel, they sure will sure go into an eternal fight. - kigcoopa84, on 07/10/2008, -1/+1I must have missed when nucular weapons became conventional.

- Waiting2awake, on 07/09/2008, -0/+1Are you comparing Iran to Germany in the 30's? Not sure where that comes from but what if we take a look and see if there is any country that really does resemble Germany back then?
See any Nation that really stands out in the similarities? - kigcoopa84, on 07/09/2008, -0/+1Actually I was comparing iran to japan. I hope your not comparing the U.S to nazi germany, but if you are that's all the proof i need to classify you as a radical idiot. If the two were at all similar your country would have been taken over along time ago and you would be in a death camp.

No, it was Japan that took 'preemptive action', just like the US did to Iraq. - Starbucks99, on 07/09/2008, -2/+0...Its important to see source of this news story...It is Press tv , and thats Iranian governments international news television network. Im not sure if what they have reported is right or wrong ...but I can see the rhetoric in this story that tries to prove the fact that U.S has started its military action against Iran...in other words they are trying to show that Americans have started their first steps to the war..and showing themselves as victims.
- RuffRidr, on 07/09/2008, -0/+1I thought the Generals were asking for more air support in Afghanistan, and the warship was moved closer for that reason. But I guess the Iranian press can spin this however they want.
