- brentinkc, on 01/18/2008, -0/+8What the hell is wrong with giving this woman a shot at raising her children? The man, Wince, is still in the picture, whom apparently has lupus and has to get dialysis three times a week. How exactly does this preclude him from being able to care for a child? I have a cousin with lupus, and at no point has she been unable to care for a child.
These are loving parents that should not be denied their daughter. How would you respond if Big Brother tried to take your children?- Herostratus, on 01/18/2008, -0/+1With lead, hot lead... and lots of it.

- chitowneddie, on 01/18/2008, -0/+1I can't believe that!!
- Rikushix, on 01/18/2008, -1/+1Someone with cerebral palsy should be able to raise their children. However, I don't feel as though just about "anyone" is fit to raise children. Some diseases are simply so extreme that the offspring would live much better off in another environment, it's a simple truth.
- chernesq, on 01/18/2008, -0/+1I'm not sure what is the story with a society that feels it is appropriate to essentially unilaterally rescind a parents right to raise her kids. We live in a country where we should not expect to have to see things like this happen. Why is she even having to fight to keep her kid? If she is not presenting an imminent danger to the child, I am not sure I see the concern. Her heart is certainly in the right place. It seems like we have enough public programs to assist mothers hooked on drugs or who only care as much about their kids as is convenient for their abusive boyfriends. Why is no program providing her with assistance. Maybe that is a stupid question when we all know how flawed our public assistance programs are, but when it affects someone's basic human rights, you would think that someone would stick up for this woman.
