Russian Gymnast Stomps A Triple Backflip Like It's Nothing
At the 2019 World Artistic Gymnastics Championship, all eyes were trained on Simone Biles. Rightly so, as the American superstar gymnast became the most decorate athlete in the history of the sport and codified two new skills named after her in the same weekend.
But elsewhere in the complex in Stuttgart, Germany, other athletes from around the world were also doing good gymnastics. Russia's Nikita Nagornyy was certainly among them. Look at this video of him absolutely stomping a triple backflip on floor, a trick so difficult, gymnasts rarely even attempt to learn it.
For his trouble, Nagornyy walked away from Worlds with an all-around Gold medal. He's really that good. And this is no fluke, by the way. Here he is two years ago landing a triple back flip with a full twist, on a slightly-bouncier-than-regulation rod floor.
Gymnastics is cool!
