- OwdenBowden, on 04/17/2008, -6/+1They have been suckling from the teet of Obama for so long now that they will anything and everything to get the Big Zero into the white house. I cannot believe that these people actually are falling for what will be know as the "greatest Political Hoodwink" the world has ever seen.
I for one would welcome back the Ron Paul heads.
- Dragular, on 04/17/2008, -20/+2Irrelevant tabloid *****? Your symbol of idiocy proclaimed that my gun ownership is because I'm bitter. He says he never heard any of Reverend Wright's comments, yet his book is named after one of his more "fun" sermons and everything else points out that he did. For *****'s sake his wife proclaimed she's never been proud of this country.
But of course you don't want ***** like that brought up. If we bring up things like that, people might remember that Obama isn't Jesus Christ's second coming, right?- Trykt, on 04/17/2008, -1/+12I can understand that since you don't support Obama the massive level of support he gets on Digg is frustrating, but it's unfortunate that your response is that you're buying into a hell of a lot of manufactured outrage.
- Dragular, on 04/17/2008, -8/+2See? This is what I get. I make my point, and all I get is elitist "You don't know what you're talking about" responses instead of an actual ***** argument. C'mon, give me something to convince me that he REALLY had NO IDEA what was going on in his church, he had NOOOO IDEA his wife didn't like this country.
If anything I feel bad for Obama. Do you realize how bad you gotta screw up to give Hillary Clinton a chance to look like the Gun Owner's Advocate? That'd be like Hugh Hefner becoming the poster child for celibacy. - ToadLeg, on 04/17/2008, -1/+10@Dragular: The Republican party is that way ------>
- Suzilla, on 04/17/2008, -0/+4@Dragular: You demonstrated both a poor grasp of fact in your misquote of what Obama said, above, and you demonstrated a willingness to parrot what the corporatocracy are saying -- in this instance, that Obama is an "elitist". You, and millions of others who bought into Bush's baloney are too ignorant to know when you're wrong, and too poor in character to admit your wrong or don't know the facts when called upon to substantiate your claims. Vote for whomever you like. It won't matter. Corporations have obviously trained you well in what crap to buy, eat, and excrete and rational argument is the one thing you can't and won't understand.
Sorry if I sound "elitist". - Dragular, on 04/17/2008, -3/+1Hey, Suzilla, dumbass, I wasn't calling Obama elitist. His ***** fans are. Every time I try to get any ***** information on him I get told I'm being a racist, bitter, or a parrot. I get told I'm owned by a corporation because I have questions about the man's stances on race and guns. Sorry but that's elitist *****. "I'm more hardcore politically look at how I deftly display both my own arrogance by assuming you supported Bush [rather than looking through your history to see where throughout 2004 you were supporting Kerry]."
As for substantiating my claims, I MADE NO CLAIMS. My claim is this: he was asked about things that I have questions about, and everyone responds with bitching. If that's poor in character on my part, sorry. However, since I make none of the claims you say make me "poor in character."
In short, you are at best a brainwashed fool, choosing to merely pounce at the mere HINT of someone who disapproves of your new God. At worst, you're a douchebag.
In even shorter, ***** you. - Trykt, on 04/17/2008, -1/+3Hey Dragular, I vote Republican, I don't support Obama, and I think you're totally full of *****. What now?
Yeah, ***** you too.

- ToadLeg, on 04/17/2008, -0/+5Maybe you misunderstood: This was a Democratic debate, and Obama is a Democrat.
- aadyss, on 04/17/2008, -2/+1You are absolutely right. This is why I didn't watch the debate or any Democrat debate. If the Democrats want to self destruct it's none of my business. What I do not understand is why the Democrats so beloved the the Clinton machine a few years ago but is now it is being looked at as being nearly evil. Looks like one would not want to turn their backs on the Democratic organization for fear of the flying knives.

However, while they own part of the company, they contribute to part of the decision making. Because they are only planning on owning part of the company for a brief period, they will contribute decisions that are good for the brief period that they own the company, but would otherwise be irrational and highly self-destructive decisions over the long term future of the company.

- mrASSMAN, on 04/17/2008, -0/+22I just watched the debate and was absolutely disgusted with the way ABC handled it. I haven't seen every debate aired this season, but I can say without a doubt-- despite the fact that there were many other bad debates --this debate was the absolute worst I have ever seen. They didn't even attempt to do a professional job. I'm being serious when I say this: Fox News' debates had more integrity than today's.
I was screaming at my TV from anger while watching. I seriously had to get up and get a drink midway just to calm down. No, I'm not an insane person in need of anger management, if you watched the debate like I did, you will know what I'm talking about. At least half the debate was spent asking about Obama's patriotism ("do you love America more than Wright?" "Do you hate America's flag?" "Why do you support terrorists?" "Why do you want to ban hand guns?" "Why do you attack religion?" "you want to tax teachers and firefighters?") then they asked softball questions to Clinton and apologized for letting Obama respond to the moderator's attacks.
Just simply unbelievable. The media has sunk even lower than I imagined. The best debates are the ones in which the moderators say the LEAST. - runCMD, on 04/17/2008, -23/+2We are not early int he campaign. This was not the first debate. You've heard all the responses to the questions you ask over and over and over ....
ABC did something courageous tonight. They went outside the box they were supposed to sit in and hit the candidates from a different angle. It was refreshing to see how the candidates - and especially YOU guys reacted to that.
The economy didn't suddenly tank - his answers, her answers would have been the same tonight as they have always been - so hooray for ABC for thinking outside the box.- artliquide, on 04/17/2008, -1/+17Thinking outside the box? All they did was ask Obama the same questions about what shouldn't be controversies in the first place. They were hacks, not original. Man, your box must be really small to believe that they were thinking outside of it.
- Dragular, on 04/17/2008, -12/+1And you must be wearing a box over your head, blindly following. Yayyyy Obama.
- artliquide, on 04/17/2008, -1/+3You sound like a child when you talk like that.
- runCMD, on 04/18/2008, -2/+1LOL. Stop thinking about the size of my box. The debates ALWAYS ask about war, and economy, and healthcare ... always. To ABC's credit - they started out a differently - something no one was expecting - and it totally threw the candidates off. How perfect was that. A great introduction to how these candidates will be able to take the heat in a general election. OR not take the heat very well. LOL. I saw a little human behaviour instead of the canned Obamaspeek I'm used to seeing.
- artliquide, on 04/21/2008, -0/+1Ok, I see your point about how the candidates would handle the national debates and mudslinging, except that the questions asked were nothing all that shocking or new.
- Dragular, on 04/17/2008, -12/+1And you must be wearing a box over your head, blindly following. Yayyyy Obama.

- josereyes0, on 04/17/2008, -2/+2Clinton/Obama's policies are very similar, there are only minor differences. There was no need for a debate in the first place, you can't successfully debate two almost identical policy stands. The only differences between these two candidates are that Barack Obama is honest and Hillary Clinton is a lying scumbag. So you debate the way they do politics rather than policies or not debate at all.
- 140Suffolk, on 04/17/2008, -7/+4Obama is honest? You certainly are easily seduced.

http://query.nytimes.com/gst/fullpage.html?res=9B0 ...
"Walt Disney executives and their families donated $56,500 to Mrs. Clinton's Senate campaign, more than any other company."
I'm not saying there's a correlation, but it's worth thinking about. - hammburglar, on 04/17/2008, -0/+4the moderators shouldnt be fired. the people who wrote the questions for them should be.
- poxonyou, on 04/17/2008, -0/+6Pretty sure George wrote his own questions. He was on Hannity's show earlier asking him for some questions to ask. No joke. George was part of Bill Clinton's White House.

- jtryba, on 04/17/2008, -3/+9Like many here, I was outraged by tonight's sham debate. In addition to complaining loudly so that the powers that be can hear, I suggest like-minded supporters head to http://donate.barackobama.com to make a donation.
ABC's unfortunate lack of journalistic integrity motivated me to donate another $50. - goomba323, on 04/17/2008, -0/+8I'm a 21 year old college student. I was watching the debate with some friends who don't really know that much about politics, but they are excited about Obama and want to see why I support him so much. And then came the horrible questions, where I was forced to explain the dumb tabloid issues. They couldn't understand why the reporters were asking questions about Pins and Association to people that seem to be irrelevant. I told them I didn't understand it either. Horrible questions, horrible debate, I think Obama stood his ground though.
- Cagnazzo82, on 04/17/2008, -0/+2This article is slightly misleading... it wasn't merely the overall night's questions that got the audience booing at that part. It was specifically the fact that prior to where this video starts, they brought on a 'debate analyst' who 'claimed' Clinton won the debate. *And* this is before the debate even ended!
The crowd booed because they went to a commercial break without the commentator ever even mentioning anything positive on Obama's side.
Total sham debate all around.
- Tex, on 07/28/2008, -4/+59They should be fired, and their network should be boycotted.

- devophl, on 04/17/2008, -1/+10Exactly... The media in this country has become so subjective and biased that I can't really can't watch, listen or read anything from it and not treat it was outright propaganda. The main stream media seems more interested on pushing their own agenda and maximizing their profit than actually reporting on anything newsworthy. It is getting worse every year.
The bad thing about this is that the founding fathers treated the media as the final check on the power of government. But today, the media is just as corrupt as most of the government its actually reporting on. Without it, we're teetering on the edge of a totalitarian state. I guess the only thing left is the Internet and lets hope we don't lose that as well!!- catbeller, on 04/17/2008, -0/+2Well, the right wing blogs and commentators are gushing about the fairness and balance of the debate. All their talking points and personal attack memes were covered. Which give you all you need to know about what's going on about "bias" in the media.
- über, on 04/17/2008, -0/+1In the past tense, even.
- thedragon4453, on 04/17/2008, -0/+10The mainstream press IS irrelevant. Every mainstream news outlet is bought and paid for by companies that have a vested interest in electing a specific candidate.
The truly sad thing is that in this I'm preaching to the choir. I don't think that many diggers get their news from a mainstream outlet, but a lot of this nation still does. I talk to family members about politics occasionally and all I hear is this weeks tagline regurgitated. And as usual, I encourage them to turn off the TV, and go look up what they are saying.
Just realize, diggers, that most of the nation is still swallowing whatever the media tells them. Still believing that the media has their interests at heart. Still believing the media is neutral.
Its not really GWB, or Clinton that I fear anymore. Its a nation of people that believe whatever the TV tells them to. The fact is that our president is a war criminal, but far too few realize it because far too many just don't know what is going on.- aadyss, on 04/17/2008, -0/+0If what you say is true, where would I get the 'real news.'
- thedragon4453, on 04/18/2008, -0/+1Thats a good question. Personally, I look to a variety of outlets. For regular local news I'll usually turn to a mainstream outlet, but when we start talking about international or political things I look towards the internet.
The big thing though, is that I do not look unquestioningly at either. Whether its an article on the net somewhere, or something on CNN, I question its validity. If its something important I will usually try to verify against multiple sources.
What I have a problem with is that there is still a lot of this country that assumes that the media is reporting only the truth and its unbiased. They accept what they are told as fact, as canon. There is just to much blind faith being put into MSM.

I found another ABC number, though I don't "officially" know what it connects you to. All I know is that supposedly the number has been ringing off the hook with people complaining, and some people are being hung up on but others are getting through: 800-560-1000
Here's another comment line, though I personally haven't tried this one yet - it might get you to the same one I listed first in the original post: 818-560-1000, then enter 2, 6, and 639
This may seem silly, but I think there's always the Disney Channel: 818-569-7500. Tell them you're not going to let your kids watch Hannah Montana anymore, but are instead going to teach them how to torrent her songs and TV episodes. Heck, might as well tell ABC you're boycotting their shows and are just torrenting them from now on ...even though that's probably what you do already... :)
ESPN: 860-766-2000. Though it'd be hard to pirate anything broadcast on that channel, you can always let them know their parent company blows, and make sure you tell WHY you're pissed.
And even though they've already got 7000 comments, you can add a couple more to the ABC debate thread: http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/DemocraticDebate/co ... - okayokayokay, on 04/17/2008, -2/+35Here's a feedback webform:

- Dartos, on 04/17/2008, -6/+3You should know that Stephanopoulous and the Clintons had a fallout when he left them after the first administration and wrote a scathing book about them. There really is no conflict of interest there.
- insomniac8400, on 04/17/2008, -3/+5What are you retarded? Everyone says he is biased for her, and you are claiming he is fair because he is in fact biased against her? Please read your own comments!
- ski360spin, on 04/17/2008, -0/+1I agree, have you ever listened to him on air... a bias is obvious, not to mention his ridiculous name
- Dartos, on 04/17/2008, -0/+0You have to look at the historical context. "Everyone says" is not a strong argument. Everyone on Digg? I daresay that Digg does not represent the general populace. Stop being a drone and think for yourself.
What I'm claiming is that it's unlikely that he is biased in her favor after writing his not so favorable book on the Clintons. AND if you watch his weekly Sunday show, you'll see that he's actually fairly impartial. As far as the "media" goes, there are way more biased people on the air (Olbermann, Matthews, anyone on Fox....)

- Livvy5, on 04/17/2008, -3/+84they should have been heckled. Heck they should have been chased with pitchforks. It was a tabloid debate with no substance and two hosts who appeared to be salivating for a big moment that they could embarrass someone. Certainly not journalism. Last ABC news I'm tuning into. The American people are worried about their futures and George and Charlie thought we cared about more 24 hour cable news nonsense.
Both candidates did fine under the circumstances but the circumstances stunk to high heaven. - azprof, on 04/17/2008, -2/+45Disgraceful beyond description. The torch of Edward R. Murrow will now be irrevocably passed from the on-air media to the on-line world.

- Peacekey, on 04/17/2008, -3/+87I was impressed by the honesty of Obama but It was a shameful debate. ABC and its moderators demonstrated how cheap they are. Even by looking at their selection of video clips and the titles before and after the debate one can recognize their dirty psychological tricks to follow the politics of Clintons's Dynasty and lobbyists. People deserve a better Media.
- p0s3r, on 04/17/2008, -19/+4Were you impressed with his honesty when he pledged not to raise any sort of taxes on people making under $250k then within 2 minutes say he would raise the payroll tax on people making over $97k? Pretty honest there!
- goomba323, on 04/17/2008, -0/+1A contradiction isn't a lie, it's a half truth or a half lie, depending on how you look at it.
- goomba323, on 04/17/2008, -0/+7I think the best part of the night is when Obama, out of frustration says along the lines of "I think it is...ABSURD...that just because someone did something 40 years ago when I was 8 and he works at the same institution as me, that that would have any standing on my beliefs".
His facial expression was priceless and that is exactly what I was thinking...

- FemaCampBoy, on 04/17/2008, -2/+60I don't even support Obama and I was getting mad as hell. as others pointed out, the economy is imploding and we are losing lives in Iraq every day while the Bush psychopaths want to attack Iran. and all geogie poo and sick chuck can ask about is petty crap? the MSM hates our guts time to tune them out.
- joeanon, on 04/18/2008, -0/+2You should change your mind. Obama supports many good science programs that are helping us end our oil dependence.
Of all the candidate, he is addressing the oil addiction the most.
McSame just wants to give us a tax break.... but he won't stop the oil companies from just raising their prices to compensate..... that would be regulation OH NO.
The answer is biofuel and thin film solar, things that Obama has going on to some degree. Obama still needs guidance though, but among the candidate his energy policy is the strongest.
Energy is clearly the REAL ISSUE.
The reason the war costs to much, the reason all prices are up everywhere.. it's all simply linked back to oil and transport costs.

(Source: Daily Kos)- superkendall, on 04/17/2008, -11/+3So what's the plan then other than just whining about it all? That's the real problem, it's easy to complain that everything is going to hell but rather harder to figure out a way to get back up and dust off that actually works without just digging the hole deeper.
You also have a number of things up there that bring tension between them - you have Energy and Food Shortages, when an attempt to "fix" Energy problems with ethanol results in more expensive, and less, food all over. What other kinds of "fixes" will we rush into in other areas that cause unintended consequences?
You have the financial crisis and housing values collapsing. Yet is it wise to bail out either the borrowers or the lenders? If you don't bail either out the housing values re-assert themselves when people who can realistically buy homes do so instead of those that cannot.
You have Trade and Organizaed labor listed. I am assuming (since you are echoing Kos) you are more for the Democratic candidates - and yet the Democrats, even Clinton who supported NAFTA, are killing free trade as we know it with Columbia and poisoning the well for future trade negotiations by showing that whatever we agree to now, as a nation we are not going to be as good as our word. This is all at the request of the unions!
If everyone really wants to solve those problems it's going to take some hard choices, with real discussion and NOT demonization going on by all the people of the US, not just one political faction.
I realize that in your own way you are trying to help by saying, why were these things not talked about in the debate. But I just had to say something because these kinds of laundry lists come up all the time with no further thought attached to them. That is no longer good enough.- pgm_01, on 04/17/2008, -0/+1For energy we need a windfall profits tax that will be split between increasing renewable energy and helping to drive down the cost of fuel (there are many ways to do this the best would be to get people to decrease demand in the US), I would recommend trying to increase the use of public transit in areas that already have it available and working to expand our system and maybe even pay people to carpool. We need states outside of the Midwest (particularly New York and the New England region) to focus on increasing their agriculture.
We need to focus on getting agribusiness out of farming, and put more businesses (including farms) back into the hands of small buisness owners instead of multinational corporations. We need to promote green energy, green building and high tech and we need it to be based here in the US. There is no simple solution because this is the culmination of years of abuse by Republicans and Democrats.
Oil prices will decrease if we stop the threat of wars among oil rich nations (particularly Iran and Venezuela). Also if Brazil's claim of a new huge oil field is proven true then the worlds potential supply of oil will have increased dramatically which should result in a price drop, as well. Everything is tied to oil, including global warming and we should have started untying the system years ago.- Arcueid01, on 04/17/2008, -0/+1IT would be nice if there was effectuve public transit in MI, however, there isn't effective transit at all. Plus you are stuck on the bus for ages.
- motivatedmama, on 04/17/2008, -0/+1The Brazilian oil find worries me. I sincerely hope that the Dems will keep moving forward with alternative energy anyway. I'm sure the Repubs. wouldn't. They'd milk it dry and worry about it later. As for public transportation, we live 20 miles from the nearest town. Ain't gonna happen in my lifetime.
- wageslaven, on 04/17/2008, -0/+6Hey, some of us are very literate on these topics. We want our media to engage in an INFORMATIVE discussion with the people who are asking for our votes.
I want to know what the CANDIDATES think of these things! - DiggyWiggy, on 04/17/2008, -0/+1"Well, we have to end apartheid for one. And slow down the nuclear arms race, stop terrorism and world hunger. We have to provide food and shelter for the homeless, and oppose racial discrimination and promote civil rights, while also promoting equal rights for women. We have to encourage a return to traditional moral values. Most importantly, we have to promote general social concern and less materialism in young people." -P. Bateman

- jetblackjp87, on 04/17/2008, -1/+1To me it seems that this is more a list of symptoms than it is causes. The primary cause is almost certainly Big Government. Isn't it time we end this dream of the 'Great Society' and return government to a more rational size?
- Pritchard, on 04/17/2008, -0/+2Ouch. Had to add Global Warming to that? Is Global Warming really an issue? - p0s3r, on 04/17/2008, -70/+7Obamessiah finally gets asked a few tough questions and you morons can't take it. Do you think the GOP is gonna be asking The Black Jesus "do you like diamonds or pearls?" in the general election? Get over it. Consider it a preview of the general election. You should be thanking the moderators for prepping Obama for the run against McCain.
- dinot, on 04/17/2008, -2/+45Tough questions? Like "who's more patriotic, you or your pastor". Flag pin? WTF.... how does ANY of that help you pay less for gas? How does ANY of that help you find a job? How does ANY of that help provide you with healthcare?
- p0s3r, on 04/17/2008, -33/+5I guess it helps me pay less for gas the same way raising taxes on gas and oil companies will do. Or it'll help me provide for healthcare the same way Obama voting no on an amendment that would allow me to deduct my healthcare insurance from my taxes back in March.
- bbatsell, on 04/17/2008, -1/+25It would have been nice if ABC had asked just one of those questions, since they're actually based on important issues that affect the American people rather than last week's issue of Weekly World News.
- p0s3r, on 04/17/2008, -26/+6Heres what would've happened:
Obama: "Windfall profit tax on Oil companies will provide relief to consumers."
Gibson: "How would taxing oil companies reduce gas prices?"
Obamabots: *feint* How dare them! So unfair! Call ABC!! Pitchforks! Torches! - solesoul, on 04/17/2008, -1/+15p0s3r, I don't think you understand that we're upset BECAUSE he wasn't asked those questions! The questions he was asked weren't tough as in "these are the issues the leader of the free world will deal with", they were tough as in "oh my god, my brain wants to explode at the stupidity of these quesitions".
- lickmylovepump, on 04/17/2008, -4/+2maybe people don't trust him now, so we question the little things about him to find out if he has the character to lead the country. the "Obamasiah" isn't trustworthy, but then neither is mccain or clinton. of course i'll get buried for stating the truth, but then calling a spade 'a spade' is usually unpopular.
- hierophantus, on 04/17/2008, -0/+3Not buried for "truth," buried for using "calling a spade a spade" in reference to a black man. Either your ignorance in not realizing what you did there or your childish malignancy in doing it on purpose earns the bury.

- brion182, on 04/17/2008, -0/+1There is not a whole lot any president can do to effect gas prices in the short term, not much more to create new jobs except get out of the way and as far as health care we've heard both their positions ad nauseam. What we really don't know about Obama them man.
- kevinvsgodzilla, on 04/17/2008, -2/+12Obama needs no "prepping." As he's shown recently, he isn't affraid to hit back and hit back hard. Hillary's got a bloody nose.
- p0s3r, on 04/17/2008, -20/+5Couldn't tell from tonight. He looked helpless.
- karagekun, on 04/17/2008, -9/+6god youre a dick.
***** off and die.- Coffeedemon, on 04/17/2008, -2/+1Way to conduct yourself. I can see why you are here criticizing the debating skills of others.
- karagekun, on 04/17/2008, -5/+6so after some reflection...i apologize for my previous comment.
the shear audacity of this debate put me in no mood to deal with troglodytes like poser.
rather than wishing it to "***** off AND die," i simply wish it to "***** off"- p0s3r, on 04/17/2008, -13/+3Apology not accepted. Don't care enough to.

- zephyear, on 04/17/2008, -1/+26"tough questions"
what? the questions are absolute *****
"OBAMA DO YOU LOVE THE FLAG"
"OBAMA ARE YOU AS PATRIOTIC AS WRIGHT" - JavanSClark, on 04/17/2008, -0/+4Guys P0s3r is a WN troll. IF you would take a look at his comment history, you would see that. Bury Report Ignore. Pretty Easy.
- plhearn, on 04/17/2008, -1/+1He doesn't like diamonds or pearls! Hes likes platinum!
- motivatedmama, on 04/17/2008, -2/+57Early on NPR hosted a radio debate. They asked listeners to email in during the weeks previous, to convey which topics to discuss. Then the moderators chose those issues most expressed. This is while all the dems were still in, and they still managed to host a quality debate. There is no excuse for the farce we witnessed tonight.
Gotta hand it to Obama for calling the moderators out, by name, over and over again! - BabushkaBlue, on 04/17/2008, -1/+29A lady told me that George's voicemail is no longer "working" when I called to leave a message and then she gave me ABC's main number. Ha! I hope the lines are smoking tonight. What a horrible debate. I'm furious. The National Enquirer would do a better job than ABC did tonight.
- wageslaven, on 04/17/2008, -0/+6You know what, I bet you the National Enquirer would host the best debate of the bunch. I'm not kidding. They are totally outside the newscycle, and wouldnt let these people get away with lying.
- catbeller, on 04/17/2008, -0/+1The Enquirer would test the wind, and bring on whatever sold the most papers to the most morons.
- MammasMilk, on 04/17/2008, -0/+1Hell, I've dropped turds that can host a better debate.
- wageslaven, on 04/17/2008, -0/+6You know what, I bet you the National Enquirer would host the best debate of the bunch. I'm not kidding. They are totally outside the newscycle, and wouldnt let these people get away with lying.
- okayokayokay, on 04/17/2008, -0/+15You can leave a comment with the local Philadelphia affiliate of ABC News, which helped host the debate.
http://abclocal.go.com/wpvi/feature?section=resour ... - aldenhg, on 04/17/2008, -1/+81I had to turn it off when George Stephanopoulos asked if Obama thought Rev. Wright loved America as much as he did. It was a half hour into the debate and they hadn't touched a single issue. To hell with ABC and the mainstream media in general.
- dinot, on 04/17/2008, -3/+25I thought CNN and MSNBC were a farce, but compared to this, that ***** was academic.
- wageslaven, on 04/17/2008, -0/+4Oh, I see what you did there.
You want fcuking farce: Fox fcuking news.
CNN and MSNBC havent even been as bad as we saw ABC tonight. But Fox? They're a goddamn disgrace every minute.- letdowntourist, on 04/17/2008, -0/+1Perhaps, like the other people who are above infantile intelligence, Dinot wrote off Fox News 5 years ago.
- catbeller, on 04/17/2008, -0/+1ABC's bosses went hard-right Republican a long time ago, and have been weeding out the "biased" reporting for years. And now you see the result. Apparently good reporting is biased, while this Foxified drek is not. God, please bring back Ted Turner to CNN, and may he slay the dragons that have roosted there. As for all rest of the now "bias" free news reporting on the major networks, now free of all them "liberals" asking "biased" questions, I have no solution. They have been gutted of intelligence. Reality has a well-known liberal bias, and it has been expelled.
- wageslaven, on 04/17/2008, -0/+4Oh, I see what you did there.
- MrTito, on 04/17/2008, -1/+9My mind started to wander during that question, and I was thinking "So, how bad would it be if Obama just threw up his hands and said 'Sorry, guys, I'm done with this' and walked out?" I think he could have saved himself and all of us a lot of grief if he had just done that instead.
- catbeller, on 04/17/2008, -0/+1You know, they have been far harder overall on Clinton. The domination of right-wing attack points in the "debate" went both ways. As for the Republican debates. My God, they practically wiped their buttocks in tearful gratitude for being in their holy presence. To show how far right the news networks have gone, note that the right wing blogs and commentators are gushing their surprise at how professional and unbiased that candidate knifing was last night.
- dkmich, on 04/17/2008, -0/+0I kept flipping channels waiting for the "real" debate to begin. The last time I flipped in I heard that love America question and couldn't believe my ears. If I had been Obama I would have laughed in his face and told Georgie to not be so stupid. I never did see the whole thing because ABC and this crew of jerks drove me away screaming.
- sallywally14, on 04/17/2008, -0/+0Yeah, then you shut it off before he asked it AGAIN.
- dinot, on 04/17/2008, -3/+25I thought CNN and MSNBC were a farce, but compared to this, that ***** was academic.
- BishkekBuddy, on 04/17/2008, -2/+29Tabloid crap tonight.... they should have started jeering long before the end of the "debate"!
- mrASSMAN, on 04/17/2008, -0/+2"The crowd is not allowed to applaud or make any noise." They didn't respond until they had a chance at the end of the formal debate.
- abby11, on 04/17/2008, -21/+3 What a BUNCH OF BS all these REPORTERS will be SORRY when Obama is President!
- rexreason, on 04/17/2008, -2/+2How so?
- p0s3r, on 04/17/2008, -15/+4Well they're both white, so they'll be in the White Prison Camps while the Black Panthers confiscate all their property to pay for reparations when Obama is President, for starters.
- MacEnvy, on 04/17/2008, -1/+12You stay classy, p0s3r.
- p0s3r, on 04/17/2008, -15/+4Well they're both white, so they'll be in the White Prison Camps while the Black Panthers confiscate all their property to pay for reparations when Obama is President, for starters.

- rexreason, on 04/17/2008, -2/+2How so?
- jho406, on 04/17/2008, -1/+55Worst debate i have ever seen in my life. My 5 year old cousin could ask more relevant questions than ABC.
- SusanWAstate, on 04/17/2008, -2/+8Thank you for the contact information. It's important to let ABC/Disney know how disgusted we are with this farce.
- thezettabytes, on 04/17/2008, -19/+4Someone should launch a DDOS attack on the abc website. The idiots have now shut down the comments after all the criticisms.
- rexreason, on 04/17/2008, -6/+2Yes, because if someone broadcasts something you don't like, you should censor them.
- mrsammercer, on 04/17/2008, -1/+8Oh, you mean like what ABC did to the people leaving comments on their site?
- rexreason, on 04/17/2008, -2/+3ABC can do what they want to ABC's websites. You can't.
- wageslaven, on 04/17/2008, -0/+5The citizens of this country own the airwaves.
Looks like deregulating the news industry wasnt such a good idea. From Regan's removal of the Fairness Doctrine right through the multiple relaxing of ownership limits. - rexreason, on 04/17/2008, -1/+1ABCNews.com is broadcast over the airwaves and is FCC-regulated? Really?

- solesoul, on 04/17/2008, -3/+2Dont dig rexreason down for this comment, he's absolutely right. Free speech isn't covered there. They could delete every single comment except those that mentioned fuzzy kittens and they would be within their rights. Ethical, no, but its their website. We dont have the right to commit an act of cyberterrorism.
- Lagstorm, on 04/17/2008, -1/+1Exactly the word they'll use too. Cyberterrorism. It shows you how wide the chasm is between the newest generation and the old and its pathetic.
- solesoul, on 04/17/2008, -0/+1Are you saying that a ddos on a website you don't like isn't cyberterrorism?
- hierophantus, on 04/17/2008, -0/+1I don't condone a DDOS, but "cyberterrorism?" Come on, now. No need to resort to such obviously loaded and overblown terminology.
- solesoul, on 04/17/2008, -0/+1@hierophantus, Its not "loaded" and "overblown"! You look up any list of things deemed as cyberterrorism, and I can almost guarantee that DDoS will be on that list. And even if you dont want to classify a DDoS as cyberterroism, you do have to classify it as an attack, since its in the name.
@Lagstorm, I'm a non white dude who just turned 19 last month, so explain to me how I'm part of the old generation?
- rexreason, on 04/17/2008, -2/+3ABC can do what they want to ABC's websites. You can't.

- cjshamrock, on 04/17/2008, -7/+9I have to agree, this debate sucked. Hillary yacked away and Obama looked tired as hell.
- ski360spin, on 04/17/2008, -1/+0I'd be tired too if I had to constantly listen to Hillary yack in my direction for this long.... I somewhat feel for Bill
- xerigen, on 04/17/2008, -17/+6Coming from all the people on digg who have dugg up HOW MANY BITTER STORIES? It's your fault for caring about that stuff. Ratings people, ratings.
- ramunenke, on 04/17/2008, -0/+1well we expect that from cable news but that is not the point of debates. the point of debates is to talk about issues. They talked about nothing more than pop culture
- ElatusDeus, on 04/17/2008, -2/+13This debate made me wish I were blind and deaf.

- hierophantus, on 04/17/2008, -0/+1I assumed so too.

- one1plus1one, on 04/17/2008, -4/+1For some this might be a pleasant thought. But I for one, don't enjoy being slapped in the face with ABC's penis.
Instead I prefer... Instead... hmm... how shall I put this, in language that we can all understand?...
I got it: let us say that instead of being slapped in the face with ABC's penis, I prefer a nice caress upon my lips with the vagina of slashdot, or the nipples of Digg grazing my tongue. As the milk and honey that is the data of cyberspace flows fourth...
- DanDotOrg, on 04/17/2008, -1/+5They brushed our teeth with their d*cks
- GrodyChamp, on 04/17/2008, -29/+6Just what I was hoping for when I checked Digg tonight. More Huffingtonpost Obama spam! Sweet!!!!!!!!!!
- SenorCardgage74, on 04/17/2008, -1/+5Well at least you still have bearsfistingtwinks.com, so the night isnt a total wash, right?

- BlackSheepx, on 04/17/2008, -1/+108At the end of the debate the moderators were met with a lot of audience booing, and rightfully so.
On countdown tonight Keith Olbermann pointed out that the Weather Underground question was suggested by Sean Hannity of Fox news... go figure... Obama handled the question extremely well, getting angry and saying that asking about these question "Doesn't make any sense, George."
I Really like how Obama can answer most questions very quickly and to the point while almost every question Hillary is asked she'll quickly veer off topic and say "But I think that the important thing is: _________"
The ***** also asked Hillary one question on Bosnia and that's it. They continued to hammer Obama on Reverend Wright and consistently actually INTERRUPTED Obama without letting him finish up his point. I've never used ABC as a source for anything and I will never in the future. On the same level as Fox for me...- mcnasby, on 04/17/2008, -1/+16I noticed the same thing. After the Rev. loving America question, I knew it was time to immediately turn off the television because there was something very wrong with that debate. I'm sure it couldn't have had anything to do with the fact that George Stephanopoulos was a former Clinton advisor. It's really a shame what Clinton will do to undermine someone as visionary as Obama. Not once has he taken the offensive to Hillary. He has been forced into defensive mode - negating all the important issues - all for the sake of saving face.
Sure, he may not be the greatest person to walk this Earth, but he sure as hell is one of the most hopeful and visionary politicians we've seen in a long time. For once, someone wanting to do good - for the people. Listen to a debate between him and Hillary - Count how many times he says "we" and she says "I" -- tells a lot about the candidates.
- mcnasby, on 04/17/2008, -1/+16I noticed the same thing. - solesoul, on 04/17/2008, -1/+7He has. More than likely, he would have tonight if he had been allowed to.
But thats not what we want to hear. We need to talk about how American he is, don't we? Ugh.

Congrats, ABC. You've won the douchebag vote tonight.

- bigdsinferno, on 04/17/2008, -0/+6..commando. I know, i'm as surprised as you!

- pgm_01, on 04/17/2008, -0/+8No, but that would have been a step up from the crap they decide were relevant "questions".
- mrASSMAN, on 04/17/2008, -0/+3It wasn't good, it was TERRIBLE. I have it recorded and I haven't deleted it yet because I'm having trouble believing what I just watched. It was like straight out of a dystopian nightmare.

- jontalisman, on 04/17/2008, -39/+4Lmao! Quit your bellyaching Obama fanboys & girls! Your savior got his ass whipped tonight by a typical white lady who knows how to shoot a gun.
- RichardGozinya, on 04/17/2008, -1/+17You're an idiot. All that happened was Gibson and Stephanopolous asked a bunch of right wing framed questions, and Hillary joined in the fun. As for her shooting ability, I highly doubt she could handle even an airsoft. She may as well just follow her buddy Lieberman and start performing analingus on John McSame.
- mcnasby, on 04/17/2008, -1/+6wow.
- dinot, on 04/17/2008, -0/+2If the only time your typical white lady with a gun can win a debate is when the moderator was Senior Policy advisor in her husband's cabinet, then your candidate is in trouble.

- xtensive, on 04/17/2008, -1/+27Man I am glad to see all this outrage, I was so upset after watching that debate, and to see this makes me feel like we still have a chance at saving this country that has lost its way. Now to see if the fine folks of Pennsylvania see through these shenanigans...
- mrASSMAN, on 04/17/2008, -0/+1Same here, I was so angry I just had to come here hoping I wasn't the only one screaming at the TV.
- sallywally14, on 04/17/2008, -0/+1The good news is that it was completely obvious.
- chrissku, on 04/17/2008, -1/+34It's alright. ABC just toughened Obama up even more. No matter how hard Hillary's people try they can't keep him down. Obama will be our next President. I'm convinced. He sold me tonight.

- AWBoy666, on 04/17/2008, -15/+9God it's fun being a Republican and watching the dogs fight for the scraps. Clinton is just destroying the Democratic party at this point. Shame really. Obama seems like quite a visionary even though I don't agree with his politics.
- abarefootboy, on 04/17/2008, -5/+8Take a step into the 21st Century ... Vote Obama. Why hitch your wagon to a fallen star... ?
- Qtip42, on 04/17/2008, -1/+4Or......vote for the only republican in the race who isn't a warmongering neocon.....?
- AWBoy666, on 04/17/2008, -3/+1Because I cannot vote for someone who would support raising my taxes, taking my handgun and carry permit away, and federalized healthcare. I (and 50% of Americans) don't agree with those ideals. I would have preferred Romney, but now I HAVE to vote for McCain, along with the rest of us conservatives. Obama scares us so much precisely because liberals love him so.
- emildorbell, on 04/17/2008, -0/+5Anyone else notice how the only reasons people vote republican are selfish?
- Stavrosian, on 04/17/2008, -0/+6It always troubles me the way Americans (at least those on the Internet - the only ones I have frequent dealings with) tend to align themselves unswervingly to a political party rather than political ideals. The tone of your comment makes it sound like the Republican party is a sports team, and you are a die-hard fan. That you would vote for whomsoever they chose to put in front of you. I hope it isn't the case.
- thepotatoman, on 04/17/2008, -0/+2Trust me, its waaaaaaay worse off the internet then on here.
- AWBoy666, on 04/17/2008, -0/+1If you read my 2nd comment, you'd notice I have specific issues and beliefs that preclude my voting for Obama. McCain aligns with what's most important to me.
