Latest Poll: McCain's Backers Less Fired Up Than Obama's
news.yahoo.com — John McCain is facing an excitement deficit. While overall interest in the presidential campaign has swelled since last fall, backers of Barack Obama are more fired up and express more loyalty to their candidate than McCain's do, a poll by The Associated Press and Yahoo News showed Friday.

~LMAO~
In the end, of course, it's not how fired up they are, but how many supporters each candidate actually make it to the polls to vote. Of course, while past performance is not a certain indicator of future outcomes, the smart money's on Obama. - SheilaNoya, on 07/18/2008, -0/+3McCain also has the conservatives worried about his recent meeting with Hillary's top donors. At first his "base" was excited that 25 top "Hillraisers" were meeting with McCain's staff because they each rasied over $100,000 each for Hillary in the past. However, now that the details of the meeting have come out, McCain supporters are freaking out.
THE OFFER: If McCain agrees to move more to the left and adopt Hillary's policies, then the "Hillraisers" promise him millions of votes and lots of cash. Is McCain going to become "Hillary light" to get some pocket money for his campaign? Just the fact that he is even considering this offer should be enough to make his conservative supporters cringe in fear.
No wonder they can't get excited by him. He still doesn't know which crowd he's going to suck up to next.
