6G iPod User Interface Redesign and Videos
macrumors.com — There have been rumors that the next "6th Generation" iPod could be released as early as August 7th, 2007. According to some sources, the new iPod may still be housed in the traditional click-wheel design rather than moving to a full touch-screen design like the new iPhone. An anonymous sour...

- Logal, on 10/11/2007, -7/+69Boo! I want touchscreen! Thats all I'm holding out for.
- mrfreeziexp, on 10/11/2007, -21/+13I don't! I don't want some fingerprint prone touchscreen. I like the click wheel, it's easy to use and accurate.
- DaffyDuck, on 10/11/2007, -2/+50Have you used the iPod functionality of the iPhone? I would guess not. It clobbers the click wheel interface and then eats it for breakfast.
- tech42er, on 10/11/2007, -0/+16Now that's product cannibalism!
- MScrip, on 10/11/2007, -7/+1"Have you used the iPod functionality of the iPhone? I would guess not. It clobbers the click wheel interface and then eats it for breakfast."
I think the touchscreen is nice... but can you play music on the iPhone with one hand? Every video I've seen shows the iPhone in one hand and the other hand flicking through the list. The click wheel can be use with just one hand.
Widescreen coverflow is nice looking... but hardly practical.- Jrr6415sun, on 10/11/2007, -1/+8have you ever used an iPhone? I just tried to use the ipod functionality with one hand and it's really simple. I hold it with my fingers and touch the screen with my thumb. Do you not have thumbs??? It was easy, and I have small hands.
- Speed, on 10/11/2007, -0/+18Accurate? Maybe I'm just a clutz, but I'd hardly say the click wheel is accurate.
- Szandor, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3I wish Apple would make a setting where you could change the sensitivity of the click wheel.
- CrazedGeek, on 10/11/2007, -1/+1The stupid thing is, I clearly remember that when I had my 4G photo, it had a feature like that. When I got mt 5G, no dice.
- MacParrot, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1(Obscure movie reference)
No shirt? No shoes? NO DICE!
- Szandor, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3I wish Apple would make a setting where you could change the sensitivity of the click wheel.
- harbrut, on 10/11/2007, -2/+7True, you get fingerprints on the iPhone, but if you can't see them who cares? I'd rather have the fingerprints I can only see when it's turned off than a click wheel and tiny little screen not worth watching anything on. I have a 5g click wheel iPod so there's no way in Hell I'd buy what they showed on that video. That's the problem, after seeing what they COULD do with the iPod, I won't settle for less.
- rpgmaker, on 10/11/2007, -5/+1So now is a device with "a click wheel and tiny little screen not worth watching anything on." even when you have better choices in the same market (i.e. not little screen and not click 'n wheel). That has a name: Consumerism, that's it.
- MacParrot, on 10/11/2007, -1/+1Not necessarily. I refused to buy a 5 or 5,5 g iPod because I felt that the screen was too small. The Zune though a little bigger wouldn't work with Macs, so I didn't buy that either. The iPhone, which finally has close to an acceptable screen, doesn't have enough storage space and is too expensive to be "just" an iPod. I'm waiting for Apple to release an iPod with many of the features of the iPhone without the phone. If it's less the $400, has the same screen and at least 30gigs of storage, I'll finally replace my 1gen nano

- zodieman, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5The click wheel is nice but try using one in a car where I spend most of my time...
Give us a 40 and 100Gig multi-touch iPod and watch their sales and their stock go even higher. - millerbrad, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5I've never used the UI on the iPhone, but I'm not a big fan of blindly porting the same UI to the iPod.
I was mowing the lawn this afternoon with my old-school iPod Mini clipped to by belt, and could skip songs and adjust the volume hands-free without looking down. I like that. It's the nice thing about actual tactile buttons.- DaffyDuck, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Sorry but I don't think a true video iPod is the best choice for mowing the lawn with. If you can afford one, you can probably also afford a $80 iPod shuffle which makes much more sense for that kind of usage.
- theprez, on 10/11/2007, -1/+6http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LpYWvKXJgC4
- fmaxwell, on 10/11/2007, -3/+2Yeah, I'm tired of not seeing greasy fingerprints on the screen while I watch videos. I also want to be able to operate the device by putting my fingers between my face and what I'm trying to watch. Plus, I really dig being able to scratch the screen by rubbing my fingers all over it.
- DaffyDuck, on 10/11/2007, -2/+50Have you used the iPod functionality of the iPhone? I would guess not. It clobbers the click wheel interface and then eats it for breakfast.
- DCJoeDogaswell, on 10/11/2007, -7/+19Their not gonna cut the balls off the iPhone just yet, they KNOW the biggest draw to the iPhone is the touchscreen, I say 7G or 8G iPods will finally get it...maybe
- DaffyDuck, on 10/11/2007, -2/+5Look, if they lose $100 of profit from the iPhone to the sale and $100 profit from an iPod, I really don't think they care. It's about the money at the end. Jobs has even said that if someone was going to cannibalize the iPhone, they would rather it be them.
- kday, on 10/11/2007, -3/+1No, it's not all about the money. It's all about the shareholders. If Apple came out with an iPod that is at the same level as the iPhone, and cheaper, it could take away from the sales of the iPhone. Whether or not this hurts them economically in the long run, I can bet you that shareholders wouldn't like it. For this reason, we probably won't be seeing an iPhone like iPod... atleast for a while.
Things aren't that simple.
- kday, on 10/11/2007, -3/+1No, it's not all about the money. It's all about the shareholders. - icon7, on 10/11/2007, -3/+1I wouldn't worry about what macrumors says. There's no way we're going to see anything less than touch screen on the 6g ipod (even if it does boost the price). My guess is that they call it the iPod Video (like when they had the iPod photo) and keep the 5g iPod around for a while.
- DaffyDuck, on 10/11/2007, -1/+1Yes, I think that is a definite possibility.
- Lightspeed2, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2icon you idiot, the 5th generation ipods official name is "Ipod with video"
- icon7, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1http://www.apple.com/itunes/
It says iPod directly under the iPod so I am pretty sure they are calling it the iPod and not the "ipod with video" . . .

- MateyO, on 10/11/2007, -2/+2Bull. If you're 'holding out' for some random feature, it's code for 'I'll never get around to buying one'.
- markwilcox, on 10/11/2007, -1/+1As long as it's widescreen, I'm sold.

- jman8888, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2the fact apple leagle had it removed makes this infinately more interesting...
- mrfreeziexp, on 10/11/2007, -21/+13I don't! I don't want some fingerprint prone touchscreen. I like the click wheel, it's easy to use and accurate.
- TomPlansMedia, on 10/11/2007, -3/+56judging by the aspect ratio, we're not looking at a widescreen ipod UI here. but thats assuming these are real and not just some three-second movs some applehumper whipped up with qt pro in his mom's basement, which is a pretty real possibility.
- mrfreeziexp, on 10/11/2007, -3/+26I really doubt those are real. They just scream fake to me.
- Loyaleagle, on 10/11/2007, -4/+1actually, somebody on Buzz Out Loud confessed to spoofing the announcement...apparently it's fake....
- SuitCase874, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2That was for the iMacs.
- straylight51, on 10/11/2007, -27/+0Whats the price on the 6GB. I estimate around $225 based on current prices. Does anyone have any clue???
- TomPlansMedia, on 10/11/2007, -3/+286G = sixth generation, not (necessarily) six gigabyte
- JoeDiggsIt, on 10/11/2007, -0/+19Pretty obvious you don't.
- lordigor, on 10/11/2007, -12/+2looks like they're bringing the ipod interface to be more inline with the iphones...
i wonder if they'll extend this to os x at some point? - 7levels, on 10/11/2007, -6/+46Anyone else think this is kinda lame compared to the iPhone?
- DaffyDuck, on 10/11/2007, -0/+13Yes. This would be lame. A slightly spruced up interface with the same screen size is not going to make me want to replace my 5G iPod. If it's a full screen touch iPod as I expect it to be I'll be standing in line for one.
- fitzfan, on 10/11/2007, -2/+12I call fake for that reason..Steve Jobs doesnt release lame products. He knows the new ipods need to be as slick and innovative as the iphone.
- hshadow914, on 10/11/2007, -11/+2the 5.5G ipod was damn lame. all they did in a year was make the battery life larger. i was pretty pissed seeing as my rio carbon broke just before showtime and i was holding out for a touchscreen... i'm gonna buy the archos 605 wifi when it gets relased in the states (unless apple relases something better)
- tech42er, on 10/11/2007, -0/+10But that wasn't a generation change.
- luvs2spooge, on 10/11/2007, -8/+3The iPhone may be "slick" but it's by no means "innovative."
I mean, unless you've been living under a rock for like 10 years.
@hshadow914
I loved my rio carbon too. It's a damn shame they don't make them anymore.- Szandor, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2There's more to good consumer electronics than specs. Apple is top-notch when it comes to design/GUI and that's why their products are so attractive to a lot of people.
- davepascoe, on 10/11/2007, -1/+1are you joking? please name another consumer device with fullscreen multi-touch interface.
the tech may have been around for a while but Apple actually gets it into people's hands, that's the difference between them and the likes of MS's surface - if people can't actually buy it then it might as well be the freaking Minority Report computer for all the good it does.
Apple is in fact one of the most innovative companies in the world, their main innovation being letting their bottom line follow from good products rather than designing products to hit a specific bottom line.
- vanden9, on 10/11/2007, -1/+4Apple Tv.....
- celkin, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1"Steve Jobs doesnt release lame products"
puck mouse anyone?

- ut2k4king, on 10/11/2007, -0/+0This has got to be kinda lame compared to the iPhone. I'm a die-hard Apple fan, but the iPhone sells mostly because of the innovative features. Slap it on a 6G iPod and sell it for 100 dollars less and watch iPhone sales plummet.
- dgblackout, on 10/11/2007, -3/+9i don't know, but as long as it has more than 80gb then i'll buy one no questions asked.
i hate having to resort to splitting my itunes library between two ipods.- samdu, on 10/11/2007, -1/+1I haven't become desperate enough to get two iPods, but I can't fit all of my library on my 60GB Photo, either. The biggest reason I skipped the current gen iPod was the maximum 80GB capacity. Figured I'd skip a generation and hold out for a 120GB or so. Hopefully Apple will make that a reality this time.
- phanfromcheese, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4@ dgblackout
riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight. We'll believe it when you put up pics of your library. - bromac, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2You do realize that once upon a time you actually had to select what you wanted to listen to?
I know, it'd be hard. But I don't think anyone's feeling sorry for you because you have too much music for a 80 GB iPod. With that much music, you couldn't even listen to half of it in a one-month timeframe. So why do you have that much music...compensate much?- dgblackout, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1i just like music, and torrents.
- dgblackout, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1i just like music, and torrents.
- johnnybluejeans, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1I love when people gloat about their mp3 library size. They always have 1) the worst taste in music and 2) small *****.
- stusb, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2rubbish. for an avid music lover, it's not hard to do. if you pick up everything that takes your fancy, particularly with bittorrent these days, 80g isn't out of the question.

- Ireland, on 10/11/2007, -7/+69Three words; FAKE FAKE FAKE.
- indorock, on 10/11/2007, -5/+11If it 's so FAKE FAKE FAKE why would Apple's legal team have them removed? They would have no reason nor right to do so if it was Photoshopped.
insert foot in mouth- CrazedGeek, on 10/11/2007, -4/+2Would you want some lame-ass punk giving false information to the public?
- jackwaters, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2I agree. Apple has no need to remove information that is untrue. There must be some truth in this claim even if its only partial....
- Ireland, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1If people believe that this is the new iPod but it's not, not only would Apple to want people seeing what wasn't their work, but they would have a legal right to get it removed. The new iPod is going to be multi-touch - deal with that.
- greatkingrat85, on 10/11/2007, -3/+3Actually - that's 1 word, 3 times.
- Ireland, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4Yes 1+1+1=3.

- metalica77, on 10/11/2007, -19/+4buried As spam
- DaffyDuck, on 10/11/2007, -3/+87Here's a compilation of some of details people spotted that prove this is fake:
1. spacing of clock numbers is sloppy (uncharacteristic of Apple).
2. seconds clock hand is continuous, not ticking.
3. clock second hands are not correctly synchronized in one of the views.
4. font is too large.
5. "Love" playlist is incorrect.
6. battery indicator looks wrong.
7. battery level increases.
Personally, I think some of the text spacing looks off and I don't think the transitions are what Apple would choose. Also, I think Steve is tired of the click wheel. They put a lot of research into the iPhone. It makes sense to put it to use in more products. All this nonsense about cannibalizing the iPhone is just that. Nonsense.- Alegoo92, on 10/11/2007, -3/+1I think youre right. But I'd expect/like Apple to release a touch iPod called 'iPod Pro' or something to that nature- because click wheel should not be dumped.
- ronaldpoi, on 10/11/2007, -1/+1This may not be a fake-signal, but when you chose a song (in the Beatles example) the cover art comes from the sky and falls to hard. It's not an animation Apple would chose, i'm pretty sure of that...
- utch, on 10/11/2007, -6/+1My opinion on this is that the new 3.5" will be announced at macword in Jan, much like the iphone (look how good it did) I know it hurts to hear see more of what is hoped for in the 6th Generation ipod here - http://www.mp3buzz.net/index.php/2007/07/12/6th-generation-ipod-what-we-hope-for/

- meatmcguffin, on 10/11/2007, -0/+8Rumour has it (via Think Secret, Appleinsider and MacRumours) that the macs should see a refresh on the 7th August
- Matrix_Prime, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5I hope so. I'm a PC user, and I'm stepping into the world of the Mac for the first time (unless we count the Apple II I used in elementary school. Go Oregon Trail!), and I am tired of waiting for the new model.

- rudy23, on 10/11/2007, -3/+4since this story is dead anyways lemme ask my off topic questions. Whats gonna happen to the mac Mini?
- daza, on 10/11/2007, -1/+1It's going to die.
- patm1987, on 10/11/2007, -2/+2I never entirely got it, what's the draw of an iMac. It's not as extensible as a mac pro, but about the size of a macbook/macbook pro except you can't really carry it around. If I'm gonna have something that isn't a laptop (or smaller), at least I want to be able to remove the motherboard.
- Szandor, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Or at least upgrade the video card.
- Sprules04, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3It's simple, elegant, small enough to fit into most spaces, and has more than adequate power to fit the majority of peoples needs.
- JasonPrini, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3Why would you need to remove the motherboard?!? You probably still could with the iMac, although again, why!?!?
The time it would take me to do anything beyond upgrading the RAM would not be worth the upgrade. It would be cheaper for me (in time and money} to wait a few months and get a replacement iMac than to fool around with the inards.
My iMac facilitates my hourly billing as a web/multimedia developer. It does it better than any Windows PC I've ever used.
It's also a Macbook Pro inside with a better video card and is ~ $1000 cheaper.
I use the first 1.83Ghz Intel iMac 17" with a second 24" Dell screen. This is STILL cheaper than a MBP.- Bootes, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Except that the MacBook Pro currently has a better video card.
- nick2, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2i sure do hope they will come out on Aug 7th like rumored. I am saving my money for an iMac.
- zodieman, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Sounds like you want a PC. Plenty of those around.
Not everyone NEEDS to tinker with computer components. As long as I can expand the RAM and storage (external is fine) then the iMac makes perfect sense. I have a 20" model and I love it but the 24" is calling my name. Not until the new ones come out though.
- meatmcguffin, on 10/11/2007, -0/+8Rumour has it (via Think Secret, Appleinsider and MacRumours) that the macs should see a refresh on the 7th August
- independentjac, on 10/11/2007, -11/+3Anyone else notice that was the Beatles?
Thats kinda weird considering Apple was in a HUGE fight with the holders of The Beatles Music? Not to mention the Beatles are available in the iTunes store. This doesn't make sense.
I didn't like it anyway.- Protoss, on 10/11/2007, -0/+7Yeah they sort of mention The Beatles in the article, saying the 6G iPod launch could coincide with the announcement that The Beatles would be available on iTunes.
- Bootes, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Steve also played music by The Beatles when showing off the iPhone.
- colincornaby, on 10/11/2007, -6/+13This makes sense. They're going to want an interface that's they'll be able to put on the cheaper iPods, and let's face it, a touch screen is expensive. Can you see them doing a $200 Nano with a touchscreen? Or a $250 full size iPod with a touch screen? I can't. More likely they'll keep the existing click wheel system intact. It works better on smaller iPods, and it's cheaper.
Yeah, a touchscreen would be cool, but it's unnecessarily fluff for an MP3 player.- cjmal, on 10/11/2007, -3/+5Touch screen expensive? Did you read about how much it cost to manufacture an iPhone?
- ut2k4king, on 10/11/2007, -0/+0Prices come down over time, look at the iPod, iPod Nano, iPod shuffle, Mac Mini, etc.
- DPyro, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3Touch screen expensive?
Nintendo DS, anyone?- bromac, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1The touchscreen is the most expensive part of a DS. It's not like there's hard drives or flash memory to drive up costs.
That's all that a touchscreen iPod would do: drive up the costs. There's no such thing as a free lunch...

- omjeremy, on 10/11/2007, -6/+5c'mon everyone... THIS IS FAKE!
Just another fake, just like the hundreds of fake iPhone pictures we saw a year ago.- GreenAlien, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2Umm, if you read people's responses, nobody thinks this mockup is for real.
- philberttheduck, on 10/11/2007, -4/+2buried as fake
- dimplemonkey, on 10/11/2007, -4/+2nice fake while it lasted...touch screen is the next rung in the evolutionary ladder for the iPod.
- damnyooneek, on 10/11/2007, -2/+3the screen ratio doesnt remotely come close to widescreen and there's no way they would make an ipod thats not widescreen
- DaffyDuck, on 10/11/2007, -1/+4I agree. Apple wants to sell more videos on iTunes and a true video iPod will help them do that.
- TVarmy, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3Maybe they'll make the next iPod be somewhere between the size of the 5G's screen and the 5G's body size? And then the entire surface is just a touch screen?
While we're dreaming, imagine a nano with no buttons, but just screen. Sure, it'd be expensive, but it'd be fun and cool looking. Or even a shuffle with a touchscreen and no buttons. Apple's intelligence with a touchscreen now gives it the skill to do away with buttons on many of its devices. Granted, tactile feedback is something that would be missed. Maybe they could have it be like the Click-Wheel, where the surface is a (rectangular) touch screen but the platform the surface is on can be pressed up, down, left, or right to play, stop, skip, and so on. And general left and right movement across the screen raises or lowers the volume. And the screen wouldn't trip up, because it won't react with anything without galvanic response. - sakuraz, on 10/11/2007, -3/+4buried for inaccuracy
- Dylson, on 10/11/2007, -2/+3Im gonna go out on a limb and say fake. This doesnt seem like something apple would do. Its not clean enough.
- GreenAlien, on 10/11/2007, -1/+1Agreed 100%. Apple wouldnt be seen dead making something like this.
- CaseyTokyo, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2the animations are linear and not easing in and out which means its fake

- BackwardsPanda, on 10/11/2007, -2/+1The Beatles! Perhaps a hint that apple has settled their differences with The Beatles, maybe they'll be in the itunes store for the next ipod launch?
- pr5owner, on 10/11/2007, -7/+0can it play xvid? FM radio? voice recording? album art? no? STFU then, its a total failure when compared to mp3 players avalible today, the Meizu M6 8GB is only $150 right now and is going to drop below $100 by the end of oct
- deadbaby, on 10/11/2007, -0/+9Album art? iPods have done album art since the iPod Photo.
- titlesaysitall, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5Who the hell uses FM recording? And yes the iPod does Album Art.
- bradkovach, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2My iPod does voice recording.
- omarciddo, on 10/11/2007, -2/+7Working on OSX based iPods? What difference would OSX make? The ability to do...nothing new with it, just to be able to say it has OSX?
- ut2k4king, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3Cept run full fledged .app applications like the iPhone does. Also means that they could (emphasis COULD) be planning Wifi for it or internet apps.
- daza, on 10/11/2007, -1/+1Remember, it's not a PDA, it's a portable media player. Adding OS X would bring nothing to the iPod.
The 1G iPod still plays the same music my 5.5G iPod does. What I would like is a bigger screen with the capability to play H.263 and MPEG-4 ASP (DivX, XviD). You don't need OS X to play a few codecs.
- daza, on 10/11/2007, -1/+1Remember, it's not a PDA, it's a portable media player. Adding OS X would bring nothing to the iPod.
- GreenAlien, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3It's all about the user experience. OSX will bring ALOT to the table on a media rich device. Simply look at iPhone demos and skip the phone specific stuff. People are crying out for an iPhone but without the phone functionality for a reason. We're not all deluded - or at least I hope we're not...
- ae6ai, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0OSX is not required for a nice UI. Adding OSX to an iPod will do little other than make is slow and expensive.
- ut2k4king, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3Cept run full fledged .app applications like the iPhone does. Also means that they could (emphasis COULD) be planning Wifi for it or internet apps.
- clark24, on 10/11/2007, -2/+1Damn - just bought another 5G two weeks ago!
- schoate09, on 10/11/2007, -4/+2I automatically bury anything from Macrumors. Not because it's Apple (I like Apple), but because it's never true.
- jftitan, on 10/11/2007, -2/+2An Anonymous sour...?
OHHH, Source.... Damn, and I thought for a moment someone was mad that Apple was releasing a product early. - gamemaster357, on 10/11/2007, -10/+4Here's the REAL 6G iPod
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:EdisonPhonograph.jpg- StarBeamAlpha, on 10/11/2007, -0/+7next time use tinyurl to not give away the joke :)
- cubs2234, on 10/11/2007, -2/+1wow so photoshopped.
i want one. - zodieman, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1I call FAKE.
- generalLEE, on 10/11/2007, -2/+1Yeah. If you can't pick these as fake there is something wrong with you... straight to the optometrist.
Apple wouldn't try to display album art in a sliver of screen real-estate like that and then scroll the image so that you can see different bits. Neither are they going to have the album art drop in like it was done in aftereffects, on something without a graphics card.- GreenAlien, on 10/11/2007, -3/+2Makes me appreciate Apple's spit and polish when I see cheap knockoffs like these. Must be cool for a company when the whole customer base can spot imitations within seconds without even trying. Now if this was Microsoft or some other innovation-starved company it would of fooled quite a few I bet.
- pierreb, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2I would thing that Apple would want to release a new IPod configuration before the very important back-to-school and Christmas seasons. What makes sense is if there would be PC updates before the back-to-school season (much rumored Imac upgrade for ex.) followed by an Ipod upgrade in the October zone for the Christmas market.
- RobotJesus, on 10/11/2007, -1/+5A iPhone-like touch screen iPod with Safari built in. I would buy one of those on release. Please apple, just give me a portable browser.
- markdelete, on 10/11/2007, -2/+1probably fake as others say, nothing is ever true from macrumors. (unless its posted hours before an announcement)
even if its OS X under the hood, why couldn't you just update everyone to that software/visual style? what would the hardware matter? - scrambled, on 10/11/2007, -6/+4If this is the next iPod, that Zune is looking pretty good...
- siglesias, on 10/11/2007, -4/+3I remember when you morons were saying that a touch screen iPod would incorporate a touch-screen wheel and digging me down for saying such was an idiotic idea.
- GreenAlien, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Maybe because saying the idea is idiotic is idiotic in itself. Who is to say the touch screen wheel wont work well. Apple just went with a different design thats all. If you insulted everyone with your earlier drivel maybe that contributed to you getting dug down too.
- USB2point0, on 10/11/2007, -2/+0grasping at air molecules anyone???
looks somewhat promising and could be a demo video, but let's not get our hopes up 'till we hear something from Apple, hmm??
Also, did anyone think that Apple could be releasing these "undercover viral things" to get people hyped??
Plus, this is what they want to do, get their stock soaring before the holidays, with new iMacs, iLife, iPhone, iPod, OS X Leopard, and who knows what else, then they make $$$$$$$$.
Apple's very smart, even smarter than most people know they are.- DaffyDuck, on 10/11/2007, -1/+1"Also, did anyone think that Apple could be releasing these "undercover viral things" to get people hyped??"
You don't follow Apple very closely if you believe they would do this. - GreenAlien, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Plus Apple were probably the ones that requested this fake news be taken off the website.
- DaffyDuck, on 10/11/2007, -1/+1"Also, did anyone think that Apple could be releasing these "undercover viral things" to get people hyped??"
- ElMoselYEE, on 10/11/2007, -2/+1though a valiant attempt, this is very fake

- Cirrius, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3The technology is DONE for a touchscreen iPod, so it will be inexcusable for the next iteration not to have it.
- hak715, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0A touch screen for an iPod would be stupid. How often do you change a song or change the volume without looking at the screen? Try doing that on a touch screen without looking. Just cause the technology is available, doesn't mean it has to be used.
The iPod is successful because it is easy to use. I hope they keep it that way.

- joshpar, on 10/11/2007, -1/+1Hmmm... 20 songs on Rubber Soul??? I think not. But, the focus of the Beatles shots does seem to focus on Paul which, when viewed upside down, means he is dead. Regardless... I'm with all the fake votes on this one.
- kingyubba, on 10/11/2007, -3/+4i want a touchscreen ipod with wireless.
a magsafe adapter would be cool too.- DaffyDuck, on 10/11/2007, -1/+6"a magsafe adapter would be cool too"
That ain't happening. Sorry. - TheCheeks, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3magsafe? no way, ipods are so light that the magnets would still have a good connection and fling it right from the table.
- DaffyDuck, on 10/11/2007, -1/+6"a magsafe adapter would be cool too"
- whoucares, on 10/11/2007, -5/+1Where do I place my order. I am sure the 6G iPod will be a nice addition to my iPhone.
- xxbrighteyed, on 10/11/2007, -4/+3your iPhone IS the 6G iPod, and noone is interested that you have one
- cubs2234, on 10/11/2007, -1/+5Maybe a firmware update?
- arbulus, on 10/11/2007, -7/+4The site is called "Mac RUMORS"
That's all this ***** is: rumors.
Until it appears on Apple's website, all of this kind of crap is just *****.- theprez, on 10/11/2007, -1/+8"I had to remove the video/images, per request from Apple.
arn"
I find it strange that Apple would request macrumors to remove the post of a fake video. (Arn is the person behind macrumors btw)
- theprez, on 10/11/2007, -1/+8"I had to remove the video/images, per request from Apple.
- SyDIGG, on 10/11/2007, -4/+2This thing is so fake. It does not have the refine Apple look and the screen aspect ratio is so yesteryear. The interface design is hideous. I don't know how anyone could pass this off as something Apple would come up.
- ChrisLowder, on 10/11/2007, -7/+2I call *****
- jthomp, on 10/11/2007, -6/+1obviously fake
- iplayyouandme, on 10/11/2007, -8/+2This is for real. - Steve Jobs
PS - Keep making fun of my products and I'll hack your Windoze box in 60 seconds.- retrosexual, on 10/11/2007, -1/+1If it was "for real" and you wanted people to know that, then why would it be "[removed per request from Apple legal]"
It's stupid how people pretend to be people, you're probably a 13 year old boy whose looking at porn at the moment and whose using a PC.
