Awesome Dual 30" LCDs + Mac Pro Photoshop Contest!
crestock.com — Crestock has this ridiculous photoshop contest where they gave away a Mac Book Pro last week and are giving away Dual 30" LDC and a Mac Pro this week. It's free to enter. Droooooooool . .. .
- 835 diggs
- digg it
- blarger, on 10/12/2007, -24/+4You can post talent based contests like this for free over at www.youcontests.com.
- keesj, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7Actually it's not talent based.. you just have to rip off that one spectacular style that keeps winning every week.
- gigabitten, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1mod down.. wrong spot
- gudmund1, on 10/12/2007, -10/+6Just had a look at the winning entry for that MacBook Pro - http://www.crestock.com/forum/Topic1776-15-1.aspx
Pretty nice, but not unbeateble I would say ; ) and I could do with a new monitor - or two, hehe- apollyon, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Absolut ...Nature? That is a nice photoshop creation. I wouldn't be surprised to see Absolut buy that and use it for their advertising.
- jocnnor, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5Not unbeatable? Well, to my mere ~100 hours of photoshop experience, it seems so to me. I've done a few contests at worth1000.com (in the beginners section) and best I've done was 3rd :-(
If you think you can beat it, I wish you luck! - betterth, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Don't undermine that entry, that is a gorgeous entry... I'd be very surprised to learn it was created in photoshop alone.
- davdav, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Are you kidding me? The winning entry is absolutely gorgeous.
- gigabitten, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1@jocnnor- there will be a winner therefore rendering it beatable.. yes its epic hard and NEAR unbeatable... but still "beatable"
- pleasureman, on 10/12/2007, -15/+6OMG! If this entry is for real, anyone could beat that - looks like it's made in MS Paint..LOL
http://www.crestock.com/uploads/competition/entries/633016498639535954.jpg- cyrix, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4That is absolutely hilarious.
- Anders, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7I wish my photoshop skills were more admirable
- bbqplate, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2i guess this website generates income by keeping the rights to each submitted photo and resselling to companies?
- BonhamsGhost, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3It's called stock photography, though I've never heard of this particular site.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stock_photography - betterth, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9They clearly state in the #3 Forums that they don't require the rights to the photo.
- BonhamsGhost, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3It's called stock photography, though I've never heard of this particular site.
- TotalTutorials, on 10/12/2007, -8/+1Bluesfear also has a $100 monthly photoshop competition
http://www.bluesfear.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=29171- betterth, on 10/12/2007, -0/+17No offense, but I'm more keen to enter the $10,000 in hardware competition =D
- betterth, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5I'm incredibly impressed with these forums:
Active Users: 5,170 (5,131 guests, 39 members, 0 anonymous members)
I've run some large forums before, and know that an XMB-setup running 150-300 people concurrently takes like a $300 hosting package to run decently.
But to load in a respectable amount of time with 5,170 people there is insane.- neuros, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1I'm not very impressed.... I've seen boards dedicated solely to marijuana that have had three times that many users and guests lurking 24/7 :P
- Wolfbeta, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1it was exactly double that just now.
- leethefilmer, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I'm might have to do this. Too good to pass up.
- painting, on 10/12/2007, -8/+5goddang it who are the morons that digged this. Thanks for increasing my chances of losing jerks!
- Autoclave, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3I suspect it was the "digg this story" button right above the images that did you in.
- kyhx, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3If it helps, your already a looser in my book.
- KSUdesigner, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1If you were any good at photoshop you'd be overjoyed that this got dugg.
- bandomac, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1a looser what? Did you mean loser?
- hyun007, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3I going to submit an entry, but smells sorta fishy to me. Too good to be true?
edit:
from the site- "You can win amazing prizes including a MacBook, a MacBook PRO and the grand prize – A MacPro with Dual 30" Cinema HD LCDs – every designers wet dream!"
you CAN win? so you might not?- polyGone, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I wonder, too. I am gonna submit, but that's a 10K machine right there.
- pleasureman, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Oh it's for real - they've already given away prizes for the past three weeks...you can check out the winners in their forums...they even interviewed the winner of week one here: http://www.crestock.com/news.aspx
- tetsuosf, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0What stuck out to me the most from the Week 3 contest winners was the abundance of ISO50 (http://iso50.com/) design ripoffs... blatant ripoffs at that.
- godfly, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0noticed that too
- Ramble, on 10/12/2007, -8/+1I'd rather get a good screen. Apple screens arn't really the best.
- NiLeS, on 10/12/2007, -12/+2Bunch of Mac fanboys! Go back to your homes...
- MBX1, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1i'm slightly confused. so is the deadline for week4 the dec.20ieth? and why are there votes already. i thought voting is done after all submissions are in (after deadline)?
- polyGone, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2WOW a Mac Pro and TWO LCD's!!!!!
What the?
All I can think is 'ohhh please ohhh please ohhh please'
Looks like it will be tough with some of the submitions. I am sure there will be some that will take till the last second to submit. - Sommerlost, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0I guess we are all just wondering the validity of this contest.
Any one have any info on the contest, previous weeks winners or the company?- pleasureman, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Dude...do you think ANY of the judges would care to join if the company or competition wasn't solid? I mean...they have like every single big design and Mac site in the judge list: http://www.crestock.com/forum/Topic974-15-1.aspx
- mohrt, on 10/12/2007, -6/+1Is it ok if I use GIMP?
- icexe, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5the guys over at Worth1000 could blow those crappy entries away in no time.
- UGM2099, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1What's stopping them? There are probably a whole lot of Worth1000 users who enter this contest.
- kirkness, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4some of the entries suck. I dont think i could win, but i could do a lot better than most of those.
maybe i should enter. - polyGone, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I didn't see anything about software regulations there. I am wondering if there are any restrictions because, with some things, you can blatently tell what it was created in. The last thing I would want to do is submit and and have my one chance be disqualified.
- stephdau, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Sounds awfully like the fark PS contests, but with a prize @ the end.
