How to Create a “Sky” and “Wood” Custom Dock in Apple Leopard

      defaults write com.apple.dock no-glass -boolean YES; killall Dock

        You can check the changes it makes by executing:

But to say they always played and sang in tune, always wrote great guitar parts, and always wrote great songs stretches credibility. And I'd say Will Lee's "Fab Faux" is certainly a worthy cover band. They are fantastic.

  • FunkyWitDaSysTm, on 11/03/2007, -1/+2the key is editing the .png images in the /System/Library/CoreServices/Dock.app/Resouces folder. you'll have to copy them out (and hopefully back them up), edit them, and copy them back in, overwriting the originals.

    this guy offers a couple of alternatives, but anyone with a gfx editing app will be able to edit/create their own dock images.

    be sure to back up just in case!

    I like the High Contrast Dock, i hope they make one for the Side Dock I kinda liked the siide dock in the beta builds of Leopard

    • orph3us, on 11/04/2007, -0/+1Currently running danish dock (I like it a lot!) and working on a script to switch between different docks.... have them named "Dock original.app"/ "Dock Ice.app"/ .. .etc.... put those all in the CoreServices folder and have a script that deletes dock.app and replaces with the ditto copy command to Dock.app.. then killall Dock and whala, a script that auto switches Docks! Will finish as soon as I figure out how to ask for password and list a selection of available docks :D

I like it, but I think it could be even better, no offense to the creator. Also is there a way to change the colors of the orbs? I love them, but wish they could be red, green, darker blue, black, white etc.

      Change the pictures, change the dock.

      Open Dock.app, right click and "view package contents," look for the 24bit PNG files labeled "scurve," open them in Photoshop, put boobies / hotdogs / ninjas on them, don't forget to back up the originals.

  • AquaOSX, on 11/03/2007, -0/+0I don't mean to sounds like a jerk, but hasn't this already been dugg in various other forms? There's a folder in Dock.app with little dock wallpapers (24bit PNG files labeled "scurve"). If you want, you can make your own little wallpaper pictures, give them the scurve titles, and dump them in the folder. Now you are officially a L337 Haxor.

    People don't really need to submit a new story every time someone slaps a new picture on the dock. This is like submitting a story every time someone changes the icon on their hard drive.
