- DiggLive, on 03/16/2008, -2/+3There's no information about if the hardware is similar or not. Putting a MBP against a budget laptop with less RAM and a slower processor, it's going to boot slower. Not to mention if it's some pre-loaded piece of *****, and not fresh installed.

Although I imagine there's little discrepancy between the hardware in the MB compared to the Windows box, a fairer test would be to time an OS/X boot compared to a bootcamped Vista on the same machine, both fresh-installs and extensions.

"on the Toshiba it's a 1.8 Ghz, and 1 GB of Ram. The Macbook is 2.2 Ghz with 2 gigs of ram. I'm sure if the Toshiba had 2 gigs it would load a little faster, but still do not think it would beat the Mac." - TypeEE, on 03/17/2008, -0/+1Isn't it very clear by this time that vista is a bloated OS. It might have some cool feature compared to XP, but you will pay for that in performance.
