demonoid.com — Looks like someone on demonoid found a crack for the latest beta of Photoshop CS3 - it involves editing the hex value of a file after it has been installed.

      Open that file with Hexedit
      Click Find on the menu bar and select "Go to Address"
      Input the 0x30AE5EA address.
      Once you're there, do the Find>Find and Replace bit (do this ONCE)
      - make sure that when you do the find and replace that "Hex" is selected (it defaults to ASCII)
      Save the file.
      Enjoy.

It actually worked for me and bypassed the whole needing the CS2 key to get the download link and with this it should be great.
  • mroberts, on 10/12/2007, -8/+1As a long-time *NIX geek I formatted my HDD as case-sensitive / journaled. It seems Adobe has a a problem with this. I have PS CS3 cracked, and I'm dying to try it out.

    Does anyone here know of a work around, without having to reformat as case-insensitive?

It's pretty clear that the reason is just incompetence of the programmers, who hard-coded paths with no regard for case (/Macos/, /MacOS/, /MacOs/, /macos/, etc.), and only realized a day before the deadline that they ***** up.

      Obviously, they were in a rush to meet their deadline, so they swept it under the carpet, and added an apologetic notice to the installer. Not a very good thing, if you ask me. What else did they forget? You won't know until it's YOUR deadline, and the software ***** up on you.

      The patch better come real soon.

    I would actually pay for an upgrade to CS3 NOW so that I can at least run the beta - in exchange for a free/low cost disc for the CS3 final. Wonder if Adobe would offer such an option...

  • tuartboy, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7That Hex edit is only good for the Intel machines. There is a patcher posted on the same site that has worked for most people on both PPC and Intel. It requires a clean install of CS3, so don't muck around with your hex's or anything first.

  • vinbot, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3The patch worked great on my 10.4 OSX. I tried using hexedit, but the go to address part wasn't working, so I tried the patch instead. The patch program itself is cool - you drop your application icon into a little window, and voila, it's done! No warnings about the beta expiring. My old (legit) copy of CS1 still works fine, too. (When i say fine, I mean excrutiatingly slow, like usual!) The CS3 opens up wicked fast.

      Hi all,
      following these steps you should be able to get it running without a valid serial number at all: it should just work fine for 30 days (or even more), but i've not extensively tested it out.
      Expect some unexpected crashes from this beta Tongue
      Here the 3 simple steps:

      1) Complete the installation as usual
      2) Go to AdobeAdobe Photoshop CS3AMT
      3) Rename the file called application.sif to something else, like application.sif_
      4) Enjoy Cheesy

      PS.: Smart filters are awesome. Really.

Forking over $700 or so dollars on a program you hardly use is outrageous! (ie can't see the circle that indicates where the brush will actually paint to) I've had photoshop CS2 bug out on me before and do similar (windows version though, tI'm running CS3 in an intel mac) I've changed the pereferences...and even gone in and deleted my prefs file, all to no avail.

    Oh well, it is beta, one expects bugs...I'm hoping someone knows a workaround though as it makes painting in anything pretty much hit or miss.

    Cracking Adobe Photoshop CS3 Beta is rather straight forward and easy. First you launch a hexadecimal editor and then go to the hexadecimal offset 0x30AE5EA and change the hexadecimal bytes from 81ECDC00 to E9E20200.


    Windows User:

    Why is it always so complicated on the Mac? All I need to do on Windows is find the application.sif file and delete it.

  • asf99, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0The pre-patched version of CS3 for Mac available on demonoid.com (called "-_Demonoid.com_-Pre_patched_Photoshop_CS3_(Intel).torrent ", look for it) works beautifully on an Intel MacBook and CS3 is MUCH faster. There are some minor issues, and many filters don't load. But it proves that the native thing is so much faster than the CS2 over Rosetta!!! Now, if someone could send me an invitation code for demonoid.com, I'd appreciate it and start seeding more (point.mutation (at) gmail.com ). I can reply with a gmail invitation.

    its a file that for "example" you would change the name from application.sif to application.sif_ and it "would" get rid of the serial number and everything

    As always if you were to do anything like this you most have photoshop closed...
