The second-gen iPhone: 3G, GPS, only slightly thicker
engadget.com — According to an Engadget source it'll be the iPhone we wanted from the beginning, only uglier.

That black iPhone is not 3G. It's some protection case from HK. - aguynamedreece, on 04/26/2008, -0/+1Perhaps the reason Apple *may* be deciding to move away from an aluminum back has to do with radio frequencies. Maybe with a 3G chip and GPS the reception was too weak with just the lower quarter in plastic. This might benefit iPhone users in terms of signal strength, even though I agree it is uglier
