- Matrixsjd, on 10/12/2007, -232/+24Umm, it still says 6. Reported
- aniruddha23, on 10/12/2007, -22/+75Wont say that for long. Those burying it as inaccurate hold you horses. Its gonna be accurate in just a lil bit.
- Bioshocker, on 10/12/2007, -15/+57He's just whoring to be the guy who gets the story first. Leave it up and it'll update itself. Or bury him and punish him for being lame.
Either way, the biggest shame lies on the 148 people who have dugg this without verifying the link is actually what they think it is. - LoungeActx, on 10/12/2007, -16/+50Why is this inaccurate it links directly to the iTunes 7 page, which it states the exact same things summed up by the author. I think some of you guys need to clear your cache.
- aniruddha23, on 10/12/2007, -23/+10This should be interesting. How do you unbury a buried story?
- h00paj00, on 10/12/2007, -49/+10How about burying as SPAM?
- Mejogid, on 10/12/2007, -50/+9Now if only I could burry it as innacurate (it's the iTunes 6 page), spam (he's looking for diggs rather than posting a usefull story) and lame (digg whoring always lame)...
- madpie, on 10/12/2007, -52/+5Wow! More advertising for Apple on Digg! Wow!
- KrazyA1pha, on 10/12/2007, -1/+38The iTunes 7 page is up now.
- decemberfall, on 10/12/2007, -2/+19Clear out your temporary internet files, then refresh the page, it shows the download page for version 7
- gmillerd, on 10/12/2007, -3/+23Who's inaccurate now? We all watched the presentation, knew 7 was going to be released any second and when we saw it ... dugg it.
- madpie, on 10/12/2007, -31/+2ha ha you bitches. you can bury me (as you just did a few lines up) but it doesn't change the fact that a substantial chunk of digg's frontpage content, every single day, is little more than advertising for apple.
- cell00, on 10/12/2007, -10/+37 is up now.
edit: beaten by a bit. :( - koregaonpark, on 10/12/2007, -4/+23Get this... I was seeing the iTunes 7 page all along. The US got it late. I was IMing a few friends and they confirmed this. I don't submit something unless there's quality content on the other side of the link.
- TomP, on 10/12/2007, -2/+15NEW iPODS!!!
- jadedknight, on 10/12/2007, -6/+1I think i found a bug :S when I press the back button in Windows Explorer the sound gets totally messed up. Anyone have similar results?
- kejistan, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7Yay, the first iTunes installer that doesn't force its shortcuts onto my quick launch bar!
iTunes is great, but seriously, I shouldn't have to disable the Quicktime system tray icon every single time I update! Hopefully the new iTunes updater will fix that. - fishbert, on 10/12/2007, -14/+2if it doesn't want to install on a 64-bit OS yet... then I don't care yet.
- siMac, on 10/12/2007, -7/+12"if it doesn't want to install on a 64-bit OS yet... then I don't care yet."
That's strange, it's running fine on my G5...
(Couldn't help it) - maiku00, on 10/12/2007, -1/+42I cant believe you morons marked this story as inacurate. Digg is full of *****.

"if it doesn't want to install on a 64-bit OS yet... then I don't care yet."
That's strange, it's running fine on my G5...
(Couldn't help it)
---
Starting with 6.0.5, iTunes for Windows checks to see if you are running a 64-bit version of Windows (XP, Vista, whatever). If you are, it throws up an error message and refuses to install. Rather than find and install a 32-bit version of my OS, I'm stuck with 6.0.4. So, unless iTunes 7 chooses to install itself on my 64-bit OS, it doesn't matter to me... and as such, I don't care about it yet. - sych0, on 10/12/2007, -4/+18iTunes 7 - Now with twice the memory consumption :(
- falcon707, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6If you keep refreshing the page, iTunes 8.0 might be released (like last year).
Don't flame me... I'm kidding. I love iTunes. - mattfairw, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3way more than twice the amount of memory! after looking at the new album art cover browser, ITunes was using 250MB of memory!
- tidu, on 10/12/2007, -7/+1IF ANYONE IS HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE PLAYBACK IN iTUNES 7 CLICK THIS TO GO DOWN THE PAGE TO WHERE IT IS BEING DISCUSSED...
http://digg.com/apple/iTunes_7_released_loads_of_new_features#c3025410 - nreynolds, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2@ fishbert
It looks like they fixed that for this one. Working fine on my x64 XP... for now. But then again, 6.0.5 worked on my computer for a day once somehow (wouldn't open up after that). - cjvino, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Just download a Flaming Lips album using v7 and I noticed a brand new download screen. It downloads 3 songs at a time and looks a little like the file sharing app Acquisition... Coolness.
"Full price for gum?! That dog won't hunt, Monsignor." - andrebrown, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Am I the only one who doesn't like the overall look of it as much? It reminds me of those programs that try to be iTunes. It has cool features though, and maybe it will grow on me as itunes 6 did.
- fraggle35, on 10/12/2007, -30/+31Look's like they've stolen cover flow,
- UGM2099, on 10/12/2007, -3/+36hopefully they licensed it because it is awesome.
- Mejogid, on 10/12/2007, -15/+17You'd hope so, but Apple is known for re-developing rather than licensing/purchasing - take dashboard/konfabulator, for example.
- weareglass, on 10/12/2007, -2/+19I don't know if it's stolen or licensed but they offered a job to the developer, who I vaguely know. I heard from a close friend of his they flew him to Cupertino. I thought he turned them down but maybe he licensed it instead of hiring him or maybe he changed his mind. Or maybe they just took the idea, who knows...
- felchdonkey, on 10/12/2007, -1/+15I hope the CoverFlow developer got his reward on this one. I've loved it for ages, and he deserves to cash in on this one.
- subtle, on 10/12/2007, -8/+3Nice icon, Fraggle! (Looks like you stole it from the Apple Store's "We'll be back soon!" page though ;-)
- deuceswilde, on 10/12/2007, -14/+9Apple is notorious for just "borrowing" (read: stealing) the best programs that the dev community comes out with and making them their own. Konfabulator became Dashboard, and Desktop Manager will be getting a Cupertinized version in Leopard.
- h3xley, on 10/12/2007, -2/+17 cool "Catfish dropped by IRC and said that he can't comment and that Apple DID NOT STEAL IT!!!
Congrats Cat!"
catfish being the dev of coverflow - Balanced, on 10/12/2007, -0/+38More like purchased it, actually:

- rkettner, on 10/12/2007, -37/+26This is posted when it's still v6. Shame on you.
- ipodman715, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7iTunes 7: http://www.apple.com/ipod/start/
- rusty0606, on 10/12/2007, -24/+10What is this today. See who can guess what apple link will show the first iTunes7 info. Preemptive digging? Lame
- aprocter, on 10/12/2007, -7/+14actually they just announced it, he probably read it on a live blog
- rusty0606, on 10/12/2007, -14/+19I know it's been announced. Anyone reading the macrumorslive knows it's announced. The point is posting a static apple link just to get diggs, even though the page hasn't been updated yet.
- miles01110, on 10/12/2007, -16/+9rusty...
...you're a newbie. - 5thfreedom, on 10/12/2007, -8/+12A newbie with more common sense than the people that dugg this story, apparently.
- miles01110, on 10/12/2007, -11/+8You could complain about the link leading to iTunes 6, but in an hour you're just going to look like a moron.
- fraggle35, on 10/12/2007, -28/+13it's been announced you idiots.
- Matrixsjd, on 10/12/2007, -13/+24Yes, but he said "released" which implies that you can download it already.
- koregaonpark, on 10/12/2007, -16/+8You can! It seems it isn't working in the USoA though.
- Lewisham, on 10/12/2007, -21/+17That's a lie, because it doesn't work in the UK either.
I hope this story gets really, really buried. - geminem, on 10/12/2007, -5/+6doesn't work in Taiwan yet either.
it's 2:11 AM (sept. 13) here right now. i can't believe i'm staying up for Showtime updates. - Frankie4Fingers, on 10/12/2007, -7/+2announced is different then actually on their website... it is a race to see who gets the diggs in first
- aprocter, on 10/12/2007, -22/+4So they actually completely and totally ripped off Cover Flow. Including the name. That's pretty incredible.
- fraggle35, on 10/12/2007, -3/+17unless the developer's been paid off, he wouldn't have been able to say anything before the announcement
- dullin, on 10/12/2007, -2/+13Coverflow's author dropped in to say that Apple didn't steal anything :-)
- Stecchino, on 10/12/2007, -10/+1Do go on. Where did you see that Cover Flow's author said that?
- trieste, on 10/12/2007, -0/+16" CoverFlow

- rkettner, on 10/12/2007, -14/+7It's announced... but the link is to a v6 page that is not updated. LAME
- pmcall221, on 10/12/2007, -18/+8I just bought an iPod 2 weeks ago! This always happens to me. Bigger and better and I missed the band wagon.
I waited 3 years to get one too!- rkettner, on 10/12/2007, -5/+23Gotta watch the news, aha.
- pmcall221, on 10/12/2007, -9/+4I'm guessing Best Buy won't take my return.
- blueskydiver76, on 10/12/2007, -35/+5You asshat..its for iTunes not iPod...you could have bought your i pod 5 years ago and iTunes v7 would still work with it. Get a clue....I mean wait...ill buy your iPod off of you for $30 and you can get yourelf a new one that will work with iTunes v7.
Ohh yeah iTunes is free so dont worry you wont have to buy that again either.
Ill sell you a copy of itunes v7 - stryker2you, on 10/12/2007, -8/+2@pm
Me too. I just jumped on the bandwagon last week. However, I purchased mine from Costco :) so if something bigger and better comes out soon, I won't have to fight with best buy...that's exactly why I did it. Plus it was $10 cheaper. - pmcall221, on 10/12/2007, -2/+14hey blue asshat. The iPod got updated too. Get with the program.
- threepio, on 10/12/2007, -1/+830 Day return policy, folks. Relax.
- blueskydiver76, on 10/12/2007, -11/+1hey pmcall asshat...the title says iTunes thats what i was talking about...it says nothing about ipod
- chesterton, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I hear ya... I got the iMac G5 in Nov 2005 figuring it was a new product and wouldn't be updated to Intel for a year. Boy, was I wrong! It's all good, tho... a Mac is a Mac, an iPod as an iPod, and they're all good devices.
Wish I could get gapless playback, tho... ;) There's always one more thing... - aragami, on 10/12/2007, -8/+1erm itunes is just the software on your computer, ipod's haven't been updated
although tbh if you can't tell the difference between the two then you shouldnt really be using one lol.
only thing i've seen updated on the ipod is the ipod nano which seems to be in the same colours as the old ipod mini now - playerZero, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5@chesterton: They did it! They finally added gapless support! Years after all of their competitors, iTunes 7 and the new iPods have added gapless playback support. I have not verified this, but it is listed with the features. ABOUT GODDAMN TIME.

- mymoustache, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Interestingly, when I updated my Quicktime to version 7 it gave me Pro for free, telling me it was the free player.
This was after being sent to the QT download site from iTunes 7 when trying to play a trailer.
Fullscreen without VLC...woot.

- COYOT3, on 10/12/2007, -18/+6This digg is weak. It isin't even a link to what it claims.
- nosferatu, on 10/12/2007, -8/+16This is the fault of both the poster and retarded people who reflexively digg without looking at the link.

- monkeybutler, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4What can the iTV do that the Mac Mini can't? It just seems like a ripoff at $299 when a macmini can do the same thing but also gives you internet, email and the ability to play ALL file formats.

- cubejockey, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10@flippedcracker that really would be inaccurate then. This was posted *while* Jobs was giving his keynote on iTunes 7 and he announced it and called it that.
Normally I wouldn't say anything, but the abuse of the "inaccurate" tag is getting really annoying.
