- ryanlerch, on 10/10/2007, -16/+3how many duplicates of this story are there?
- emot1con, on 10/10/2007, -9/+0I think about 20 of them were posted at the same time.

- drum_bum, on 10/10/2007, -24/+8greatest ever.
- g00ee, on 10/10/2007, -3/+6If Hank can give Barry the benefit of the doubt why can't the rest of you haters. Dugg back up (though it probably wont help).
- morninglorii, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3because Hank Aaron would look like a huge ***** if he didn't. however, free from the scrutiny of the public eye, and without being the record holder himself, i think it's a lot more socially acceptable to accuse someone who is breaking a record of cheating.
- Pluckie, on 10/10/2007, -20/+4congrats?
- hablo4u, on 10/10/2007, -24/+5Hank Aaron is rolling over in his grave. Oh, wait.
- aten, on 10/10/2007, -16/+17and tomorrow on sportscenter this is all we will see ...
- zetamilk, on 10/10/2007, -4/+3Well that should be expected.. I'm more annoyed that they keep showing him during the game (before he hit it). The camera's on him in left field even though a ball is hit to right.. "Hello..? Game going on here guys?"
- dirtyfrog, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2That's ESPN for you. With NFL games they have the cameras on the guys doing commentary while the game is going on. You multiple plays a game because of this.
- zetamilk, on 10/10/2007, -4/+3Well that should be expected.. I'm more annoyed that they keep showing him during the game (before he hit it). The camera's on him in left field even though a ball is hit to right.. "Hello..? Game going on here guys?"

- schmons, on 10/10/2007, -10/+24wow, hank aaron coming on with a congratulations to barry. that was great to see
- g00ee, on 10/10/2007, -2/+10Hell yeah, thats the way it should be.
- TBobes, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4I guess even with all the controversy it was nice that Hank could come on and show his appreciation. Hank is a great guy.
- merdiesel, on 10/10/2007, -26/+18Hell Yeah!
Congrats Barry, Greatest HR hitter of all time!
Digg me down 756 times, haters!- g00ee, on 10/10/2007, -2/+9I dugg you back up. Sad that even after Hank Aaron passes the torch to Barry all these haters wont shut up.
- theshizzler, on 10/10/2007, -21/+36Sorry, I still think he cheated.
- merdiesel, on 10/10/2007, -4/+5Key word there is THINK.
- theshizzler, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1Yup, and so it'll still go into the record books. Doesn't change how I feel about it one bit. I also think OJ is guilty. I don't know it for sure, but just because he wasn't proven guilty doesn't mean I have to think better of him. Same thing here.
To all you burying metaphor nazis: Calm down. I know there's difference between steroid usage and murder. It's still an accurate analogy about innocence and perceptions of guilt.
- merdiesel, on 10/10/2007, -4/+5Key word there is THINK.
- TBobes, on 10/10/2007, -17/+7If Babe Ruth was still around Bonds wouldn't have had a chance. Babe Ruth did nothing but smoke and drink, and hit homeruns like nothing when the ball was mush. Now with "hitting machines" and everything Babe would have had no problem reaching 1000. Have fun with the record for a few years, A-Rod will break it anyway fatass cheater!
- projectI, on 10/10/2007, -4/+5Come on, can't you appreciate the fact that someone broke a record. Give me a break and just be happy for someone once in your life you know damn well if he was on your favorite team you wouldn't be talking *****
- TBobes, on 10/10/2007, -2/+1The giants are my favorite team you idiot. I have hated him ever since he got on.
- philthiest, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5This is retarded argument. Babe Ruth hit homers in smaller parks against some horrible pitching. He didn't play against blacks, not to mention Dominicans, Venezuelans, Cubans, Mexicans, Japanese, or anyone who wasn't a white American. He didn't play in a time wear managers, pitching coaches, pitchers, and catchers watching hours of film breaking down every hole in your swing and what your tendencies as a hitter are.
I'm not saying Babe Ruth isn't great, but don't say that if played now, with hitting machines and steriods, he'd have 1000 homers, or any more than he actually has.- huszar02, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Then again, Ruth also played in a time where EVERYONE played baseball, not like now where kids are divided into a hundred separate sports.
- TBobes, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Maybe 1000 was a little carried away, but come on. The pitchers cheated more than ever during his era. Lets just say if he had the same rules and equipment as we do today, (the same number of games in a season) he would have most likely had many more homruns, and PROBABLY would have had higher than 756. Yes, we never know, but I am just saying. Anyone that can get fat and drunk all the time and still hits a ***** ton of homeruns deserves respect up the ass.
- projectI, on 10/10/2007, -4/+5Come on, can't you appreciate the fact that someone broke a record. Give me a break and just be happy for someone once in your life you know damn well if he was on your favorite team you wouldn't be talking *****
- iPirate, on 10/10/2007, -6/+12Did anybody else see that other baseball that was thrown into the crowd from behind them?
- Alegoo92, on 10/10/2007, -18/+5I think, since they play 2x the games per year, hit lighter balls that go further, and (in Bonds case) use steroids to enhance their games, Babe Ruth is still the true homerun champion.
- iPirate, on 10/10/2007, -3/+8As Chris Rock pointed out once... Babe Ruth played in a segregated league. A sport without black people isn't a sport, it's a game.
- Herv3, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1You know there is this guy named Hank Aaron who hit more home runs against white and black players and didn't use steroids.
- philthiest, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1I argued this point in a comment above. What you say is true, but it is also true that Ruth played against much weaker pitching than Bonds and didn't have every aspect of his game broken down. It's not a fair comparison for several reasons. All we have is what a player did in his era and by that standard, Bonds is the home run king.
- APHughes, on 10/10/2007, -17/+12Babe Ruth was wasted half the homers he hit, Bonds was juiced up on the majority of his
- theshizzler, on 10/10/2007, -7/+4Some people use steroids, some people use gin.
- zetamilk, on 10/10/2007, -10/+8haha Mets fan caught the ball.
- TBobes, on 10/10/2007, -3/+4Haha ya I thought that was hilarious. He looked like he had 1 too many beers as well.
- skyshock1, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1He should have thrown it back. Just like the cubs fans do.
- NumberFour, on 10/10/2007, -15/+10I thought Aaron said he wasn't gonna be there when Bonds broke it. I would have stuck with that stance if I were him.
- abird, on 10/10/2007, -3/+7He...wasn't there.
- NumberFour, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3Someone above me said he was, I didn't hit the reply button and I guess he edited it. I feel stupid now.
- abird, on 10/10/2007, -3/+7He...wasn't there.

I'm tired of hearing Hank Aarons crying ass and all these old bitches whining. GOOD JOB BARRY!- rootsthatruin, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0I saw an interview where Hank Aaron said he just didn't want to be part of it. He said it was a moment for Bonds, not himself.

- mark_1581, on 10/10/2007, -9/+2God it sucks to be a Nats fan right now.
They could have at least waited until the end of the game to do the Hank Aaron message/Bonds speech.
He also could have at least finished out the game. Yeah, Bonds playing this season wasn't about the record at all.- mark_1581, on 10/10/2007, -3/+1Oh, Sorry I forgot that half of Digg users live in San Francisco.
- expat001, on 10/10/2007, -6/+14Good for him.
- huszar02, on 10/10/2007, -12/+2Terrible.

- acid0426, on 10/10/2007, -11/+14Innocent until proven guilty. Leave the man alone until you can prove he did it. (Yes I know there's lot of evidence and testimony but ***** WAIT before you make yourself into a retarded echoer.)
- 9Digits, on 10/10/2007, -6/+3You're the one that's retarded. Have you read any of the testimony of the Balco chemist? The guy that made the stuff?
- dboy3587, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1i think thats more than enough evidence, the inventor ratting him out

- merdiesel, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Thats just the thing... most people who have something to say no nothing about the game.
- dowegotproblems, on 10/10/2007, -9/+3Piss off Barry Bonds.... you and Al Sharpton degrade Black America to the lowest possible degree.
- DiggzDE, on 10/10/2007, -3/+3Damn, that was fast. I was watching this on TV, came on here, and saw this and it already almost has 100 diggs.

- Dethblow, on 10/10/2007, -10/+5***** Bonds, the steroid-pumped, elbow-"Brace", cheating bitch. How in the hell can you congratulate someone who's a ***** cheater?
- Davisourus, on 10/10/2007, -9/+3I miss my pride in America. Between our politics, sports, and prejudices I've lost faith in our integrity. If only we had some integrity.
- sliderocity, on 10/10/2007, -8/+18Regardless of whether you hate Bonds, or if you believe he used performance-enhancing drugs, the bottom line is this: it was never proven. Innocent until proven guilty is the motto of our justice system, and it can't be selectively applied. Therefore, congratulations, Barry. You earned it.
- dboy3587, on 10/10/2007, -8/+2i still dont get how his head got to be so big
- subxero37, on 10/10/2007, -2/+4Just a few more. I want 768. That way, it's 256 + 512. God, what's wrong with me?
- joewashere, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4you guys dont actually know he did these steroids. stop being such asses about it. you prolly watched sportscenter once in your life and think your all knowing. who cares. this is a big feat none the less. so give up on your booing and stars and just take in the history
- huszar02, on 10/10/2007, -2/+0Yes. We do. In leaked testimony, he admitted to using two substances. But, judging from your grammar, I assume you don't read anyway.
