All I remember was how BAD the acting was, and once in a while the plot was cool enough, but most of the time everything else was just too stupid.

        Is BSG better?

Many of the story lines involve a group of girls of all different ages that end up living with some loser and all want to sleep with him for some reason. Others have mostly nude girls piloting spaceships or giant robots, but all of them have a "hot springs" or "beach" episode so you can see your heroine (not heroin) in as little clothing as possible.

      What does it mean when someone calls that kind of show gay I wonder.

        That's not even counting the vast amount of animated porn. Are you seriously saying you don't think people can be attracted to cartoon characters or just that you don't understand it? Because if you think the former perhaps you should do some reading on how sex sells in video games.

        People can be attracted to cartoon characters in the same way that they can be attracted to a piece of erotic artwork. People get attracted by all sorts of abstract concepts.

        It's not that people are attracted to the actual pencil lines and coloring, it's that they're attracted to the depictions on the page... the concepts that are introduced to them by the artist.

        Sexuality is at the core of our species, it's what keeps us going. It's only natural for an artist to want to pay tribute to that sexuality through drawings or paintings or sculpture (It's happened over and over again throughout history, I shouldn't have to remind you).

        Having an appreciation for that artwork doesn't mean that a person isn't normal, if anything it means that they're more in touch with their own sexuality and haven't restricted themselves when it comes to what they allow themselves to be attracted to.

        Repressing your own sexuality leads to nothing but stress and anxiety, and even mental illness, since you're constantly fighting against your own impulses, which is unnatural and unhealthy.

        People should be free to explore their own sexuality without fear of judgement or ridicule, it would make our world a much happier place.


        TL;DR: Because naughty bits are fun to look at, regardless of what form they come in.

If you mean -however- what is likely to be our future then sci-fis are -to the least- laughable, it's like a renaissance man trying to predict our life. Most probably we would get that science and tech would play an important role in the (his) future but there's no way in hell that he could predict that most people in the western world would pass most of their hours in front of a glass screen (name it TV or PC), or there will such an invention as the Internet.

    Star Trek is intriguing to see how writers of any given era thought about the future, the REAL future would be far different and the sci-fis visions would be as realistic as Cinderella is to a medieval community...
