Top Ten Annoying Websites That Should Disappear ... Forever
dube.wordpress.com — Some sites are collectively destroying our IQ, one hit at a time. From rip-offs to Friendster, from Reddit to eHarmony, here are a few that really just need to go away.
- 210 diggs
- digg it
- criative, on 04/15/2008, -3/+14Nice list. Pretty much any other dating site should be added to this list under eharmony
- Zarokima, on 04/15/2008, -0/+4It's not nice, it's inaccurate. "Some websites are collectively destroying our IQ, one person at a time" and they left out myspace in favor of one that nobody even uses. It was the same with that ning thing -- nobody uses it, so what effect does it have?
Also, why the hell is ICHC on here? It's definitely not the best site, but it's damn far from being the worst, and if nothing else it's cute and fairly humorous.

- lazycat, on 04/15/2008, -0/+35"Reddit looks like something designed to go side-by-side with DOS."
If only DOS would support modern applications, I would use it today.- lukas88, on 04/15/2008, -4/+1Start>Accessories>Command Prompt
Enjoy it :)- kaykfrink, on 04/16/2008, -1/+5That is not DOS, it is just a command prompt provided by Windows. And no, they are not the samething.
- lukas88, on 04/16/2008, -0/+3Wow, thanks for the lesson.
Just thought I would point out that there is command prompt, which has the feel and functionality of DOS but it can actually run modern applications. For a purist, I realize the fact that it can run modern applications takes all the fun out of it, but who needs those when you have DOS/4GW? And all that pesky multitasking, who needs it? Yes, clearly the original DOS is better.
- lukas88, on 04/16/2008, -0/+3Wow, thanks for the lesson.

- killbert24, on 04/15/2008, -6/+3Wow he's like a modern day Maddox.
- FasmTrout, on 04/15/2008, -0/+0I agree, but it needs more swearing and original diagrams.
- TenebrousX, on 04/15/2008, -1/+6Except more elitist and less funny
- philthetechie, on 04/16/2008, -1/+2Buried - No man shall be compared to Maddox. There will never be another Michael Jordan; there will never be another Maddox.
- BibleNut, on 04/15/2008, -2/+10Eharmony should definately go!
- xTRUMANx, on 04/15/2008, -2/+28Reddit may not look pretty, but its community is great. Surprised the author didn't add a single 'chan' site.
- WriterSD, on 04/15/2008, -1/+3Never heard of chan! Will have to look it up.
- BoMEpsilon, on 04/15/2008, -1/+1I'm so sorry to hear that.
- IAmSam14, on 04/15/2008, -1/+4They didnt add any chans because if annon got wind of it they would instantly DOS it or worse.
- NavS, on 04/15/2008, -0/+2Don't doubt that one bit.
- WriterSD, on 04/15/2008, -1/+3Never heard of chan! Will have to look it up.

- talonstriker, on 04/15/2008, -0/+46. Google (***** monopolistic assholes)
they may be monopolistic, but they give me what I want.....all the time. - AgentMull, on 04/16/2008, -1/+4XKCD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

More about the Serious Internets Movement here: http://www.internetisseriousbusiness.com
Seriously though, I don't see the point of making hate-lists of stuff you don't like. It's a big internet people, you can just move along and not go there.- WriterSD, on 04/15/2008, -1/+5It's because hate lists are fun. :)
- Ajajadude, on 04/15/2008, -2/+7People are bitter that something so simple is so popular...and they didn't think of it themselves.
- ryan926, on 04/16/2008, -0/+1i've never seen it before, and i thought it was funny.
- MsArtGeek, on 04/15/2008, -12/+3They are serious cats. This is a serious thread.
- Glugory, on 04/15/2008, -0/+44Dugg down for inaccurate for not including ebaumsworld.
- WriterSD, on 04/15/2008, -0/+5Ahhh... Good point.
- shondell, on 04/15/2008, -1/+1"9. Blatant Rip-Offs" It would fall under this category.
- Shiftyeyedgoat, on 04/16/2008, -0/+3Ebaumsworld.com is a link-dumping, content-stealing whore of the intertubes.
It rips off the content directly from other sites and posts it as its own, not the ideas behind them to make more clone sites, which is what the article implied.
- Shiftyeyedgoat, on 04/16/2008, -0/+3Ebaumsworld.com is a link-dumping, content-stealing whore of the intertubes.
- GrammarNazi3000, on 04/16/2008, -1/+3I'm surprised nobody mentioned Experts Exchange.
- sexybobo, on 04/16/2008, -0/+2beat me to it damn them every single time i have a problem they are one of the first links. and i can get the answer for a small fee
- shondell, on 04/16/2008, -0/+0you mean ExpertSexChange
- Grova, on 04/15/2008, -1/+6Dubes World
- Gabberwok, on 04/15/2008, -2/+18hillaryclinton.com
- chawkie, on 04/15/2008, -1/+201. dube.wordpress.com
- KMye, on 04/15/2008, -0/+7I think we were supposed to assume the missing #2 was that site...
- WriterSD, on 04/16/2008, -3/+1Jealous much? :-)
- holyskeleton, on 04/15/2008, -2/+74chan anyone?
- yuletide, on 04/15/2008, -1/+30Dug down as inaccurate for not including MYSPACE.

HELLOOOO?!!!- saxreturns, on 04/15/2008, -0/+3Almost everyone already bashes myspace though... what's the point?
- moocow1452, on 04/16/2008, -0/+2Well, that one shouldn't disappear, less leave a void for a more powerful and corrupt...
Ah, who'm I kidding? Burn the Servers! - TomTruelle, on 04/16/2008, -1/+1hi
- Bamshackle, on 04/15/2008, -0/+1how about http://igxe.com and http://foxnews.com
- TenebrousX, on 04/15/2008, -0/+8You know what should disappear? Websites that use the javascript site previewer when you hover over a link.
- GerryBot, on 04/15/2008, -0/+8How about *.blogspot.com? That would clean up 80% of crap on the internet straight away.
- cmdrNacho, on 04/15/2008, -1/+5dube is a douche canoe.. make a f'n better site
- WriterSD, on 04/16/2008, -0/+1Ah yes, since the blog has had something go popular on digg, it obviously needs to be better...
- i70CuDa, on 04/15/2008, -0/+10about.com is just a cycle of links, it makes me puke
- wefarrell, on 04/16/2008, -0/+3Agreed. about.com's sole purpose is to generate hits for other websites to increase their search rankings. It isn't intended to educate or inform and it represents everything thats ever been wrong with the internet.
- cheappop, on 04/15/2008, -1/+3Dugg for Friendster and icanhascheesburger. I love how the image for the site in the link was stolen off of 4chan and then misrepresented.
Seriously, Basement cat vs. Ceiling cat?- WriterSD, on 04/16/2008, -0/+1Ha! Really? I didn't know that. It makes it even funnier.
- sixsidepentagon, on 04/15/2008, -0/+12So did everyone else notice there wasn't an entry number 2? Cheeseburger is that bad, eh?
- picpak, on 04/15/2008, -0/+11So this guy seriously doesn't understand the purpose of anonymous proxies? Visiting sites blocked at school/work, anyone?
- WriterSD, on 04/16/2008, -0/+1That's definitely a legit use for it. Sadly, some people use it for other reasons. :(
- Petrarch1603, on 04/15/2008, -1/+8this is a pretty lame list, whoever made it should add their blog to the list for making the same mistakes he accuses others of making.
- gibsonstar, on 04/15/2008, -2/+2But then he shows a lovably bizarre icanhazcheesburger item. He should have shown something more cutesy. That cat vs. cat battle rocked.
- wiachy, on 04/15/2008, -7/+4i wish i could dig this many many more times on the sole fact that Reddit is on there. that site is UGLY and crawling with liberal "spewage."
- keyboardduder, on 04/16/2008, -0/+2I cant believe we share the same icon. Reddit is awesome. liberal thoughts are all that are left after the last eight years. The site is aesthetically pleasing. White back on blue text. Doesnt hurt the eyes and they gont have to pay for crazy bandwidth that digg and other aggrigator sites have to pay. I think its clever.
- qetuo, on 04/15/2008, -0/+5Reddit is badly designed and has its own issues, but it is more serious than digg, on digg, there is a really nice mix of fun things and serious things on reddit it is mostly serious things so there is a big difference. So i use both websites for different things, digg is for fun, and reddit is for information. But i do find that people on reddit are really quite rude to each-other at times, where as here on digg we a more polite :-).
All in all digg is more fun, because it has a better user design and the people using the site are more laid back than most of the people on reddit. At least i think so, although i could always be wrong.- scy1192, on 04/15/2008, -1/+1ha, polite. tell me, have you ever seen an article about creationism or Mac/Linux/Windows?
- mcool119, on 04/15/2008, -2/+7He doesn't know what normal people might use a proxy for? And he doesn't like LOLcats? This guy's a douchebag.
- nickclicker, on 04/15/2008, -0/+9Yeah, all the sites he left out makes this list rather irritating, it needed to be 25 at least.
- Simonft, on 04/15/2008, -1/+1#11: yahoo.com
- Catbert107, on 04/15/2008, -0/+411: wordpress.com
- bozukarob, on 04/15/2008, -1/+7all those sites have more traffic and money than this *****'s.
- Wiini, on 04/15/2008, -0/+1clearly www.makemetheking.com has been overlooked.
- texxet, on 04/15/2008, -4/+0Where's number 2?
burried inaccurate :P - Ockniel, on 04/16/2008, -1/+1Microsoft? Where is microsoft.com?? Endless friggin flash popups that you can't block and that lag up any computer ever. auhhghhghh!
- Anthonym1987, on 04/16/2008, -0/+1I like the cheezburgerz but I am getting sick of seeing NOT CATS on there.
- whatthefu, on 04/16/2008, -0/+6"Sure, the site’s [Perez Hilton] entertaining." No it isn't.
- moocow1452, on 04/16/2008, -0/+2http://icanhascheezburger.files.wordpress.com/2008 ...
I thought it was funny. - Irfit, on 04/16/2008, -0/+6Pretty lame list. Reddit and icanhaz are amazing websites.

- wonkavsn, on 04/16/2008, -0/+4Just about any WAREZ-OMFG site
- doshindude, on 04/16/2008, -0/+24chan?

- mrfreeziexp, on 04/16/2008, -0/+1Collegehumor.com should definitely be on there.
- ladyarcher85, on 04/16/2008, -0/+2I have friendster but only because its the preferred social networking site here in the philippines and I had to create an account because of my peers and most people I want to keep in contact with.
I HATE it!- WriterSD, on 04/16/2008, -0/+1Haha! Never knew anyone who actually used friendster before. Thanks for the knowledgeable review. :)
- ladyarcher85, on 04/19/2008, -0/+1Its quite big in Asia, particularly in the Philippines, Malaysia, Indonesia and Singapore as far as I know.
- WriterSD, on 04/16/2008, -0/+1Haha! Never knew anyone who actually used friendster before. Thanks for the knowledgeable review. :)
- laconica007, on 04/18/2008, -0/+1eharmony is awful on 29 levels. it is homophobic, reductive and expensive. do a little research and you will see that eharmony's biz affiliations are not so replete with "everlasting love."
- SevenineO, on 04/25/2008, -0/+1He should lose the word "top" from his title.
