Cool AJAX RSS Feed Aggregator
osxcode.com — jMe 1.0 Beta, a very original feed aggregator implementation. The interface is very simple and neat, divided on three section where you can search, select, then post your selected feed items to your blog, forum or other. There is currently a hand selected collection of OS X, Web 2.0 and programming related sources that you might enjoy reading.
- 765 diggs
- digg it
- jwyles, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2Someone (not me) should make a similar WordPress plugin using this as a foundation
- KCorax, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Yeah but with less psychedelic colors.
I think www.retrevo.com is the kind of the three pane layout. - persaltier, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8Whether the design is to busy for you or not...it's important to point out it's using jQuery as its JS framework.
http://www.jquery.com - raindogmx, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Cool enough for a digg.
- KCorax, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Yeah but with less psychedelic colors.
- matthewaaron, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5I like the look... I'll have to see how usable it is before I digg this.
- matthewaaron, on 10/12/2007, -15/+2Just what I thought... this is mostly OSX and Apple crap... no digg for me.
- ziki, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6i digg for sexyness
- phatvolvo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Fitts' Law, anyone?
- fuelvolts, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5that got promoted to the front page awfully fast
- Avili, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5it's cool and all, but the interface is a little messy and hard to follow.
- MasterWizard, on 10/12/2007, -2/+10Sorry, no digg. Its innovative, but not practical.
Just needs that certain something. Like ease-of-use. - Lumiras, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Good looking, but once you have more than one or two feeds, it's going to be a chore to wade through everything.
I'll stick with Google Reader, thanks - razei, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3It's a bit much to take in at first. I don't think I could see myself using something like this as my primary feed reader, but it's nice eye candy.
- ajaxatheism420, on 10/12/2007, -14/+3Who the ***** uses ajax anyway? What a pile of *****. And it doesn't help that 100 BEST AJAZ TUTORIALS is on the damn front page every day.
- devin_mm, on 10/12/2007, -11/+8Who the ***** uses [insert what you use]? What a pile of *****. And it doesn't help that 100 BEST [insert what you use] TUTORIALS is on the damn front page every day.
there fixed, feel free to use it as a template
- devin_mm, on 10/12/2007, -11/+8Who the ***** uses [insert what you use]? What a pile of *****. And it doesn't help that 100 BEST [insert what you use] TUTORIALS is on the damn front page every day.
- fuxjoey, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1slick design. i see myself using it if i can add my list of feeds in. and can actually post to a blog like blogger for example.
- BlackAle, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7nice design, bad colour choice, too hard on the eyes.
- devin_mm, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3my exact first thoughts when I saw the site.
- ethergy, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4pitty its all mac stuff, well done none the less
- lemz, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4very counter intuitive interface imo... things arent obvious
- jalenack, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3It looks cool and has so far stood up to Digg, which is cool. Not digging because of the retarded article title.
- utcursch, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Source code?
- clinko, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2View Source
If you can figure the javascript/"ajax" out, the backend is a joke.
- clinko, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2View Source
- n00bvin, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2How is this possibly any better than Netvibes?
- jpfree, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1It's fancy and fairly cool if utterly ludicrous colour wise. Not something I would be using frequently.
Google Reader FTW. - Nerevar, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Color scheme is definitely weird, I'll stick with Netvibes
- OBKenobi, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2If only Netvibes could speed up the interface a bit more...
- shortcircuit13, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Netvibes has much more intuitive navigation.
I use Netvibes for digg, tech news, and general news, while I use Bloglines for smaller blogs and comics.
Works like a charm. - dministrator, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0In my office, any site that ends with 'vibes.com' is allowed. Most of the sites are blocked. So I access those sites via netvibes. Besides the UI is terrific and way easier than any other. Wish yourminis.com works at work.
I'll stick with netvibes as well. - diabolicglacier, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I'd like to see the options on the left as drop downs instead of having to click through endlessly to get to the source, etc, I'm looking for.
- mogabog, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2It's like Sage:
http://sage.mozdev.org/
But not built in to my Firefox. Sage has some CSS things that work like this. Although this looks a little cooler.- chapium, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I'm sorry, but sage and that barely even compare. For one, sage is usable.
- Lewiji, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5How many net-based buzz words can you fit in one title?
- compubomb, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1I have one huge problem with javascript, only until recently has it become somewhat easy to debug with Firebug. Previous to recently, javascript was like flying a plan in the rain without instruments helping guide you through along with a map. If you are willing to spend 3 months learning the DOM API and you are fairly experienced with coding, your all set. It's one of those languages you only feel comfortable tackling once you know how to code in say C/C++/Java and have done some extensive work. Either way, it requires more time than most other languages without the benefit of server side functionality. Ajax is great, if you know javascript, but schuck who knows nothing about coding says i want to make my site in Ajax. Got some money ? hire someone who's been wasting many thousands of hours learning to work with it. usually on their own time.
- Subway, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8I'm the developer of this. A few things to note:
1. This is still a beta version with some missing features
2. This is not meant as a replacement for something like netvibes
3. There will be different styles in the final release
4. Before I get to many emails: Yes, this will be opensourced someday!
5. I'm surprised my server is getting through this. ;-)
Fredi - bretterson109, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Until I can select my own feeds, it's pretty pointless...it's a cool idea though.
- inkubux, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Netvibes ftw
- andrei, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Or try mine (Ruby on Rails open-source app):
http://velakor.com/?page_id=47 - rYno, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Forbidden
You don't have permission to access /feedsearch/ on this server. - otto713, on 11/25/2007, -0/+0Cheapest and the best data recovery service in the world.
