The Beijing half marathon has come under fire after footage shows Chinese runner He Jie making his way past the trio of Kenyans Robert Keter and Willy Mnangat and Hailu Bikila from Ethiopia.
Mnangat later told the BBC that he wasn't racing, and was a pacemaker for He. But in an initial reaction he said He was his friend, which is why he let him pass.
