Serious Xbox 360 DRM Issue Affecting Those With Replaced Consoles
brokenxblm.blogspot.com — If you are an Xbox 360 owner who has had a broken unit replaced, content you paid for that used to be useable on- or off-line and by all gamertags on your unit is now only available to one gamertag and only when connected to Xbox Live. I've created a site to talk about the problem and try to get Microsoft to change this unfair policy.

- Divalent, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2In the Xbox.com forums, there exists a thread with 48 pages of posts since December 2005 and still there is not even official acknowledgement of this problem, much less a real solution.

The number of people effected is only going to get bigger when the Zephyr comes out and people decide to upgrade and whoops! no previously downloaded content offline. This problem is not limited to those with broken units replaced with refurbs by MS. It also effects those with stolen hardware, multiple consoles in the same household and those getting consoles repaired or replaced at retailers. - Mapatazy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Bill Gates laughs once more

3 dead 360 consoles in less than 12 months is bad enough, but to know have to fight for the right to play for what Ive paid for already is enough!!! (Not to mention the data cost of the constant reload's that my ISP loves so much!!!
Mapatazyis4drmreformRU? - jadedhellspawn, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Something has to be done to fix this problem with the DRM.
- HybridIllusion, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1This is an issue that needs to be fixed
- gibbsman, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I've been affected by this issue too. Their workaround sucks.
MS Get on the ball and get this issue fixed! - ErtaiWizAdept, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I agree the DRM should be fix both on XBL marketplace, arcade, and on the Zune. Plays for Sure music, which is/was sold by Microsoft doesn't even work on the Zune, a Microsoft product. I want a zune pretty bad but not until the DRM issues are fixed. I have cut down my purchases on XBL marketplace, items that have a DRM like arcade games, won't buy many if any at all.
- brendar, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Wow, after paying 135 dollars to get my console "fixed" (read:replaced), my wife got totally pissed last night when she found out she can't access most of the XBL arcade games we've downloaded. I was double pissed when I discovered I can't access any downloaded content if I'm not logged into XBL. I'll report back how my dealings with Xbox customer service go this weekend.
Is MS actively trying to fix this problem or are they trying to keep it a secret? I'm starting to see why my friends are trading in their 360's, there are two other next gen consoles that gamers will easily spend their money on when their frustration levels get too high when dealing with crap like this.
