Gene Found That Limits Alcohol Risk

- dacodanelson, on 07/21/2008, -0/+4That's not unusual. Most people also don't realize that alcohol is also a sugar. The cancer is usually caused not by the alcohol being inherently dangerous, but rather because it is acidic and slowly corrodes certain parts of the body (throat, mouth, stomach, liver). The more you need to replace cells the more chance you have to get one that is abnormal, ie. cancerous.

If so, I think I have this gene! - hakkola, on 07/21/2008, -0/+1Appeareantly this gene is found in 31% of Finns, and 49% of Native Americans. As a Finn I like my odds. I'm surprised it isn't higher though.
