One of the babies was a polydact (?) and had 6 fingers on one hand but the extra little finger would hang off, it was only attached by skin and it looked like anyone could just pull it off like a broken nail. The head of the home told me that it's not a rare condition, but it is rare that the parent doesn't opt to have it surgically removed at birth. In this case, the 16-year old mom thought it was cool but everyone agreed that she was going to traumatize her kid.
