Going on vacation is exciting, but dealing with the logistics of travel is nerve-racking โ€” especially in a foreign country. If you're not prepared for the worst, you could end up stranded for hours, days or worse.

Redditor u/yankeevandal asked fellow netizens to share their travel mistakes in hopes that we can learn from them before taking our next trip. After all, nobody wants a surprise expense or a "friendly conversation" for hours on end with random security guards.

Everyone has a travel blunder, what's yours?

I haven't seen my number one travel tip: PICK THE RIGHT PERSON TO TRAVEL WITH!! I came home from Europe a week early because I was afraid if I stayed there with my up to then good friend one more minute, I was going to murder her. Regardless of relationship, make sure you are compatible. Either you have the same ideas of what to do or you're fine with spending time apart and getting back together to discuss. Make sure the compatibility goes to things like room sharing, budgeting, planning, etc. Seriously, mess this one up and it'll be miserable for everybody.
