Backing up Un*x systems
halfgaar.net — Seriously: no öne seems to get this right. But, my buddy, Halfgaar, will show you how it should be done. According to him, most of the helpful backup advice given on forums and mailing lists won't help much when you actually need to use a backup. At this time you'll discover that most of these backups simply won't help you recover.

If you can't restore, you didn't do a backup. Would be nice if the author included restore instructions.
