340lb BattleBot Malfunctions Nearly Kills Microsoft Employee watch!
talk.bmc.com — So this weekend BarCampAustin3 (held during SxSW) featured a ton of amazing things including some fantastic sessions, a mini iPhoneDevCamp, and a singing Unicorn at Karaoke Apocalypse. All went well save one small incident involving a 340lbs BattleBot malfunctioning and then taking off as fast as it could for the closet Microsoft employees.

You thought Halo was cool? Wait 'til you see this! - schavira, on 03/12/2008, -0/+3In other news BattleBots still exists.
- brutimus, on 03/12/2008, -1/+3I think that was far from "Nearly Kills".
- scabbers, on 03/12/2008, -0/+4You have fifteen seconds to comply.
- sfrench, on 03/12/2008, -0/+4"340lb BattleBot" .... shame! Just cause you don't like Steve Balmer doesn't mean you have to resort to calling names.
- pokemonfan4eva, on 03/12/2008, -0/+3Battle Bot- 1 AC- 0
- inferno10, on 03/12/2008, -0/+5I'm making a note here: HUGE SUCCESS!
- smurf22, on 03/12/2008, -3/+1 "340lb BattleBot Malfunctions Nearly Kills Microsoft Employee" It didn't nearly kill him, it barely scratched him. Burried as inaccurate sensationalism.
- DiggLive, on 03/13/2008, -2/+1Killjoy.
- blackrage, on 03/12/2008, -0/+2I dugg this story before I even watched the video. The title alone made me laugh.
- blackrage, on 03/13/2008, -0/+2Update...the video was a bit of a let down. But I'll let the digg stand for ***** up that smug air conditioner.
- Impeller, on 03/12/2008, -0/+1Holy crap! That fat man's lucky he's walking... even after the ***** on his pants...

- haqattaq, on 03/12/2008, -2/+2Ok. This is lame.
- czeman, on 03/13/2008, -0/+2Poetic justice if it was powered by Microsoft. :)
- chubbybubba, on 03/13/2008, -1/+3If it was an Applebot it would have Killed everyone in the crowd with both Grace and Style. (but it would cost 4 times more.)
- BiggRanger, on 03/13/2008, -0/+0I think it was heading for the Steve Balmer looking guy. Perhaps it thought it was taking out ChairThrowerBot's creator. By the way it looks like it wasted that air conditioning unit!
- mstachiw, on 03/13/2008, -1/+2that guy almost seen his blue screen of death.
microsoft=crashing - Paulish, on 03/13/2008, -1/+1No worries, Microsoft employees are all too familiar with such errors.
- calebjenkins, on 03/13/2008, -0/+0I think that it was *really* going after that metal AC unit... then it said, "and STAY DOWN!" what?!
- Andrewbot, on 03/13/2008, -0/+1Incase anyone was wondering robot fighting competitions are still taking place around the country (non-televised).
Check buildersdb.com and botleague.net to find events near you. - crossers, on 07/11/2008, -0/+0good. I think the plan works!
