A jury of 12 US citizens have been chosen in a Manhattan court for the first-ever trial of a former President, Donald Trump, the Washington Post reports. The group went through a screening process and were vetted for potential biases. Meanwhile, Trump's social media posts regarding the trial have prompted renewed requests from prosecutors to present him with contempt charges. With Trump's claims of bias in Manhattan, prosecutors worry that the jury's security and anonymity have now been threatened.

The selections represent a diverse range of professions and interests in New York, including juror #2, an investment banker who follows Michael Cohen and Trump's social media posts and juror #7, a civil litigator who enjoys outdoor activities with his children. The alternate juror, a financial analyst, stands ready to step in if needed, and claims to have no personal opinion about Trump. Individuals who weren't selected for the jury included those who expressed strong opinions about Trump online.
