- DatDudeWiggs, on 02/12/2008, -7/+180***** that. Retire he gets a pension. Fire that fat piece of *****.
- mrdrunkNstoned, on 02/13/2008, -0/+0Hes not old enough to get pension, in CA you have to be at least 50 years old with minimum 20 years on duty, I don't know the way it works MD but i doubt he'd get pension regardless.
- mranderson86, on 02/12/2008, -3/+49That's why youtube triumphs! Video tape, record cops! They video tape and record you!!!!!
- hipnotyq, on 02/13/2008, -0/+7don't forget sites like Digg that inform you of stuff like this :)
- HerrEisenheim, on 02/13/2008, -17/+5He's an ***** for sure, but the video seems to start (as they always do) with no context. Maybe they skateboarded across his car or something. You just don't know.
- SidiousX, on 02/13/2008, -4/+5yeah they usually do provoke the cops. But, maybe I'm wrong, could've just been a bad cop
- franklymister, on 02/13/2008, -0/+11In that case, he should have been writing them a ticket, or, if it were a serious offense, arresting them. There's no police procedure that includes throwing a tantrum at some teenagers and throwing them to the ground for saying the word "dude."
- kingofinternet, on 02/13/2008, -8/+2It's thanks to fine cops like this that baltimore is one of the safest cities in the nation!
p.s.
lots of cops do roids. he's textbook.- antiorblkflag9, on 02/13/2008, -0/+3I hope you forgot the //sarcasm at the end of your statement.
- antiorblkflag9, on 02/13/2008, -9/+2He isn't even a real cop, he is MICA (Maryland Institute College of Art) security guard.
- l2OI3, on 02/13/2008, -1/+2Now we know why.
- franklymister, on 02/13/2008, -0/+8MICA is nowhere near the Inner Harbor - and the news articles linked several times in this comment thread state clearly that he is a 17-year veteran of the Baltimore Police Department.
- EtherGnat, on 02/13/2008, -0/+3"The incident involving Officer Salvatore Rivieri, a 17-year-old veteran, is the subject of an internal affairs investigation, said Sterling Clifford, a spokesman for the Baltimore Police Department and the mayor's office."
Sounds like a real cop to me.
- Happy420, on 02/13/2008, -3/+11Cop should be fired by now. And then publicly ridiculed for the remainder of his fat pathetic PIG life.
- ajwinder, on 02/13/2008, -2/+29Umm, I'm from the area. What you have to understand is this is not an isolated incident. This is the STANDARD baltimore city cop. They're all just utter pricks. I got my ass chewed out because I passed by a cop car with its lights on which was parked in the left hand shoulder on the Jones Falls Expressway while driving in the right hand lane. No traffic cones or anything, just a random cop car parked in the shoulder across 3 lanes of traffic. Another cop pulled me over and starts screaming "DID YOU NOT REALIZE THAT YOU NEEDED TO STOP!!". Before I can answer 3 other cars go flying by and he goes running off after them.
Honestly, Baltimores a cool city, but if you run into a cop, 99% chance they're just such an utter ***** at life, so try not to get on their bad side :P- antiorblkflag9, on 02/13/2008, -1/+1Parts of Baltimore are cool
Trust me, I live there- ajwinder, on 02/13/2008, -0/+7Oh don't get me wrong, Baltimore is an awesome city, I just hate the cops there. There was a story about how a couple was in b-more from out of town and got lost, cop wouldn't give them directions (and ticketed them for some reason), then they try to ask another cop walking by for directions and the first cop screamed at them for asking. They hire anyone, the more unstable the better apparently.
- TheCasablancan, on 02/13/2008, -2/+4You should visit Austin, as long as you're polite and be cool about the situation, most of them are very helpful.
- tgc1, on 02/13/2008, -0/+20*Scratches Baltimore off his list of places to visit*
- darlyn, on 02/13/2008, -1/+1This is the third time I've read such a remark on this thread. Having never visited the city, I'm honestly wondering why its over there. Could someone please explain this?
- antiorblkflag9, on 02/13/2008, -1/+1Parts of Baltimore are cool
- soupnrc, on 02/13/2008, -11/+3While I think that cop is a loser for head locking the kid, I do understand his frustration with them. I'm no officer or anything like that, but for the most part, kids these days just don't know when to shut up and listen to authority. I'm sure he's just had a rough couple days or something and didn't want to take lip from a couple punk skater kids that think they are tougher than anyone else in the world. HOWEVER, the way he treated them in the first half of the video was very poor and should be in trouble for it. BUT, I don't think that demanding them to speak up and with respect is out of order. And the fact that he decided to call the mom wasn't a bad choice either... he could have handled that WAY worse...
But as I said before, I still think that cop is kind of a loser.- Kypt, on 02/13/2008, -0/+3Yup I agree with all you have said IF there was any evidence of disrespect on the video. I honestly didn't see any (not sure exactly what happened before it started though). He goes over the top for "dude"? WTF?
- intothemoat, on 02/13/2008, -0/+4Maybe he could be a professional caddy... judging from is sweet ride.

what makes him a true disgrace is that he's picking on 14 y/o skateboarders when the REAL crime rate is so high...
- DatDudeWiggs, on 02/12/2008, -7/+180***** that. Retire he gets a pension. Fire that fat piece of *****.
- macjaeh, on 02/12/2008, -10/+1133He has been suspended WITH pay pending further investigation. http://wjz.com/local/youtube.salvatore.rivieri.2.6 ... (full story)
- theaceoffire, on 02/12/2008, -6/+175Hopefully he will be fired WITHOUT pay after said investigation.
- macjaeh, on 02/13/2008, -0/+7After doing a bit of factchecking, it so happens that while cops belonging to the police union are under investigation, they are suspended WITH pay, however, if their actions are found to warrant such a penalty, their wages from their suspension can be rescinded after their termination.
- ishotthedoor, on 02/13/2008, -4/+0I don't think you need to make the same reply 10 different times. We got it the first few times. I still think in certain situations cops should be suspended without pay. For example, I believe that undercover cop who killed that guy in that road rage incident in Manhattan a few months ago was only suspended with pay, instead of being arrested. I think there are certain instances where this policy should be rescinded, but not necessarily this one. Does anyone know what happened to that ***** in Manhattan? I never heard about it again
- macjaeh, on 02/13/2008, -0/+5Sorry, i just found it applicable to so many of the comments. My apologies for repeat posting. The Police Officers Union require that officers under investigation be immediately suspended with pay because of previous incidents. One example: Cop arrests Mayor's son. Disgruntled Mayor fires cop. Cop loses pension. It's a rare scenario, but the innocent until proven guilty theory still applies, and it should. In the case of this *****, once he's proven guilty, take away all of his suspended pay. (Although I feel that this might result in termination before the next paycheck...)

- probablyhigh, on 02/13/2008, -0/+2Doubtful. Just look at the other incident. The cop smacked around some kids, put a girl in a chokehold, then headlocked a few because they were skateboarding. He got a paid vacation and all the kids were arrested and charged.

Frankly, the cop is screwed (he was way over the top with a kid not resisting), but you start ALL proceedings this way.- BaronSamedi242, on 02/13/2008, -0/+3Most jobs, you're simply gone. "Many viewers have emailed Eyewitness News supporting the officer suggesting that what occurred before the confrontation was not shown on the tape."
SUPPORTING THE OFFICER? IS THIS SERIOUS?- PhildoVT, on 02/13/2008, -27/+18were you there? you have no idea what happened beore they started shooting. I eyewitnesses are on the side of the officer, maybe he actually has a case.
it pisses me off how quickly people jump to conclusions about stuff on this site- franklymister, on 02/13/2008, -0/+31What behavior would condone the cop's assholism?
- saranagati, on 02/13/2008, -1/+22it didn't say anything about eyewitnesses, it said people who have viewed the video and emailed Eyewitness News. The video is actually kind of clear about what happened prior. The cop told the kid to stop skateboarding and the kid either didn't hear him or just ignored him.
- maexus, on 02/13/2008, -0/+16Short of assaulting of the officer, there is no excuse for this cops behavior and angers me watching these individuals trusted with the power WE give them.
- PoliceAtaque, on 02/13/2008, -0/+5Normally I'd agree with the whole jumping to conclusions thing, but I think that there are very few things that warrant a cop throwing a 14 year old kid to the ground.
- d3lta, on 02/13/2008, -0/+3What is the worst that kid could have done to warrant that response? The officer didn't seem animated or furious in the first few moments of the video. We don't need cops with explosive temperaments, especially self righteous cowards who pick on kids.
- ryanpoleary, on 02/13/2008, -3/+46You can also infer that the kid did call his mom and the officer explained what happened. If the mother weighed THE OFFICER'S ACCOUNT with the content in the video, and still found cause to complain to the department, obviously there was very little off-camera confrontation to speak of.
Rivieri's still a self-righteous douche.
"Disrespected me"? By calling him "dude"? It's just ***** vernacular for a 14 year-old skater bro. At least he didn't address him by "*****." Way too stoic.
"Disrespected this badge"? Really? Police academy that tough? What do they require? An eight minute mile and a high school diploma? I bet this ***** couldn't even do an 8 minute mile.
"Disrespected my department"? This follows from the first quote. The kid didn't ***** do anything disrespectful to the officer, and that thus shouldn't reflect back onto the entire department, who I'm sure really are doing more pertinent and crime-reducing activities. Don't be such a ***** egomaniac as to assume YOU are an exemplar for your department. You're clearly not.
Fire this *****.- Elliuotatar, on 02/13/2008, -0/+6APPARENTLY THAT OFFICER'S DAD DIDN'T PUT HIS FOOT UP HIS ASS ENOUGH TO TEACH HIM THAT RESPECT MUST BE _EARNED_, AND IS NOT GIVEN SIMPLY BECAUSE ONE HAS A BADGE.
- stevene, on 02/13/2008, -1/+18Yes. Even if the kid WAS doing something to piss off the cop, the cop should not have pinned the kid on the ground!
- samssf, on 02/13/2008, -0/+13It doesn't matter what happened before the video. Obvious it was nothing to threaten the officer's life, or nothing violent, otherwise the kid would be in cuffs. The point is the only thing before the video was verbal, and during the video the kid was calm, timid, etc. Yet the cop yelled at the kid and threatened him and talked down to him during the whole video. Totally uncalled for.
- PhildoVT, on 02/13/2008, -27/+18were you there? you have no idea what happened beore they started shooting. I eyewitnesses are on the side of the officer, maybe he actually has a case.
- CthulhuDawn, on 02/13/2008, -6/+36From the bottom: Many viewers have emailed Eyewitness News supporting the officer suggesting that what occurred before the confrontation was not shown on the tape.
Who gives a flying ***** if the tape didn't show what occurred beforehand. That ***** fat pig doesn't have any right to manhandle a 14 year old kid like that.- landosystem, on 02/13/2008, -1/+22At the point he was attacked he had stated he hadn't heard the officer and apologized and said he'd stop the skateboarding, that guy just wanted to pick a fight he could win. He most likely had just gotten his ass handed to him by a jaywalking grandma and had something to prove.
- mike818, on 02/13/2008, -0/+12Did you see the piece of ***** he was driving? I'm assuming he got demoted from bicycle patrol and put on golf cart duty. The only person disrespecting his department is his lard ass.
- allengeer, on 02/13/2008, -0/+4the kid at no point physically threatened the officer, nor did he attempt to flee the officer. there is no reason for physical restraint.

- Lord60, on 02/12/2008, -22/+1012I disagree. I don't hink he needs to retire. He needs to be disciplined and fired for his actions. For starters, he abused his authority. Second, he made unnecessary physical (rough) contact with that 14 year old (a minor) without his parents present. Third, he took his skateboard away for no reason. Fourth, his verbal abuse coupled with the fact that he's an authoritative figure and carries a gun, made that contact aggravated assault, and that's a felony. Fifth, he's obviously beyond the point of reason, and at the end of the video he is clearly asking if the video camera is on, and in the middle of a new threat to a new person when he says "is that camera on?... if I find myself..."
This cop is clearly not fit for the job and the only one I see disrespecting the cop, the badge, and the department is himself.- EBFoxbat, on 02/13/2008, -85/+13For starters, he yelled at a kid who was trying to be tough in front of his friends, that's not abusing authority.
Second, you comply with a cop and sort it out later. You don't resist.
Third, he gave the kid a chance to go away. He didn't. He could have been arrested on the spot.
Fourth, he being an authoritative figure and carrying a gun is entirely unrelated to verbal abuse.
Fifth, he's not beyond the point of reason. The kid could have said 'Sorry officer, I shouldn't have done that. I apologize."
I would argue that the office did over-react. Not knowing any other facts beyond the video, I would say he may need some time off. He may have person trouble, he may have worked a 70 hour week last week, we don't know. Moreover, the kid could have been causing all sorts of trouble. He could have been throwing rocks at old ladies which caused someone to call the cops. The incident started with the officer far away. The kid could have acknowledge the cop and the situation would have ended.- lougoose, on 02/13/2008, -3/+41The kid didn't do anything wrong. Sure, he said "dude", but that isn't wrong. It's how he talks, and how most of this generation talks. It's a word. Get used to it.
- EBFoxbat, on 02/13/2008, -3/+1Example: out current president is a duchebag. You still respect the position by calling him President. Same with a cop. You respect the position by calling him officer, duche or not.

- shodanx, on 02/13/2008, -2/+17so "Third, he gave the kid a chance to go away. He didn't. He could have been arrested on the spot".
if I understand correctly a cops tell you to leave, not doing so is an arrestable offence ?
even if you have the right to be there?
I mean because if I have the right to be somewhere and some cops tries to get me to leave even though he doesn`t have the authority to do so, then wouldn`t it be our duty to resist ? (although most people reasonable people will fold and give up any personnal liberty at the slightest provocation)- suprchunk, on 02/13/2008, -9/+4You don't have a right to be there if it is indeed considered trespassing. Which, from my experiences, skateboarding always seems to be 'not allowed' at any public place.
- tgc1, on 02/13/2008, -5/+7How can you be that dumb?
- FatherVic, on 02/13/2008, -26/+1The kid is a typical smartass douchebag. The cop should have tazed him, bro.
Kid got what he deserved. - Slavidskis, on 02/13/2008, -0/+15If the officer worked a 70 hour week or had personal problems than he shouldn't have been working that day, that is no a valid excuse. He is in a position of authority and with that comes responsibility. A grown man should have enough restraint, honestly.
- SpeedSteamBoat, on 02/13/2008, -1/+13Okay, so the next time I'm having a ***** week I'll just drive on over to YOUR place, scream at you for a few minutes and then push you on the ground. It should be okay, you know, because I had a bad week and for all I know you're a child molester.
See how this argument doesn't make sense? What's more important then you understanding this is that the law agrees with me on this. A bad day is no excuse for assault, and the police are not allowed to do what ever they want to you on the loose assumption that you may have broken a law they didn't know about.- RenJen42, on 02/18/2008, -0/+0cool, next time im having a bad week i will just take it out on my fellow coworkers by being a complete douchebag. - dagnome1984, on 02/13/2008, -1/+131) The police officer broke the law by committing battery
2) The police officer broke the law by stealing property that did not belong to him
3) No police officer should be above the law and be allowed to get away with it like he just did because no charges have been filed.
4) The officer was allowing his emotion to control him rather than using his reason (that is assuming he has the ability to do so).
"I would argue that the office did over-react. Not knowing any other facts beyond the video, I would say he may need some time off."
Nothing grants the officer permission to commit a crime.- EBFoxbat, on 02/13/2008, -2/+2Allowing emotion to control him is wrong. As I said, it needs to be addressed. However, he committed no violation of law. He is allowed to do everything he did. The law is such that you have to listen to a cop. ESPECIALLY if you're recording it and the cop's wrong. You follow instruction and sort it out later.
- rajkalex, on 02/13/2008, -7/+1Just remember, EBFoxbat, being dugg down or up has little to do with the validity of your comments. It's too bad that not a tenth of the people on Digg have the maturity or level of understanding of people that you seem to. My favorite comment is the one above, kids are disrespectful these days... get over it. I don't think most kids are that disrespectful, just the ones that have you-tube in mind.
- nnagflar, on 02/13/2008, -1/+4I recommend discussing the issue, not questioning a group's maturity level. If you have something to add to the discussion, we'd love to hear it. Personal attacks accomplish nothing.

- The3rdMan, on 02/13/2008, -0/+1Interesting that you rationalize the officer's behavior and not the citizen's. You see we have a little things called the constitution as well as individual rights enumerated in the bill of rights that protect the ordinary citizen from abusive behavior from the state - not the other way around. Besides all the laws against unlawful search and seizure there is a beutiful thing called free speech - that includes being able to call anyone dude. If the officer can't handle it he needs to find another job.
You want to give away your rights that is your business.
- lougoose, on 02/13/2008, -3/+41The kid didn't do anything wrong. Sure, he said "dude", but that isn't wrong. It's how he talks, and how most of this generation talks. It's a word. Get used to it.

Why don't police take out their own trash like this?
- sotopheavy, on 02/13/2008, -0/+3The guy should just face assault and harassment charges like any other citizen. The kid should get skateboarding fine. The cops are very very very nice and helpful. You can stop by these booths to ask for directions, to stay the night if there are no vacancies in any hotels nearby, collect your lost items, etc.
In america, cops walk around with a hard on at all times and pull you over so they can make some more money. Our president takes away our freedoms and wastes our goddamn money. ***** America.- The3rdMan, on 02/13/2008, -0/+1Well in Japan the cops are allowed to beat confessions out of prisoners which is why they have a 98% conviction rate. They are now trying to reign in the police with a lot of resistance.
- Lord60, on 02/12/2008, -3/+18Not if they make cops responsible for their actions. This cop and others like him need to be made example of so that other cops take into consideration that more and more people are carrying video devices, they WILL be caught, and they WILL be held accountable and/or fired for their stupidity. additionally if you are confronted by an angry police officer do what you can to manage that officers anger level. Why irritate a heavily armed person that is certain they are right. - Sadly a fourteen year old doesn't have the life experience to know any better.
The Baltimore ABC TV news site has a story about another police officer that fractured a 16 year olds jaw with video of the teen in a hospital bed after 8 hours surgery to rebuild his face.- Battleloser, on 02/12/2008, -6/+56That's the kind of attitude that let police think they have a right to act this way in the first place. We need to start baiting these assholes (and have someone film it) to escalate the situation so we can show what cops do when you don't kiss their ass. Plus he's a total fatass. - nosecohn, on 02/13/2008, -0/+6> Sadly a fourteen year old doesn't have the life experience to know any better.
And this is the lesson to be learned here. I've long taken the view that a good percentage of cops go into that line of work specifically so they can intimidate people. When I'm stopped, I make sure to act super-intimidated, even if I'm not. It makes the cops feel good about themselves and they'll usually let you go once they feel like they've accomplished that. There are two caveats: always know your rights, and always note the name and badge number of the officer so you can call in a complaint later.
To me, it seems like the ***** cop in this video just didn't get a sense that the kid was intimidated, so he kept pushing it until he felt the job had been done. He definitely deserves to be fired, and probably brought up on charges for aggravated assault. - The3rdMan, on 02/13/2008, -0/+1Interesting that so many people here rationalize the officer's behavior and not the citizen's. - briankoenig03, on 02/13/2008, -1/+21Most likely, his blood sugar dipped (not spiked) because of the physical exertion of skateboarding, possibly accentuated somewhat by an increase in pulse rate and adrenaline from the nervous confrontation. Most likely it won't affect the lawsuit since the kid's lawyer won't be able to prove that the physical exertion wasn't the cause of the drop in blood sugar.

What you see here isn't a bunch of kids. It's a bunch of rational people who don't think it's alright to bully others, especially children. BTW, why are you online? Taking a break from beating your kids?
- chicofaraby, on 02/13/2008, -1/+6One of the people in the confrontation is an adult, one is a child. The fact that you blame the child and wish him harm says more about you than it does about the video.
- jaxcs, on 02/13/2008, -0/+2why do people always want to comment on stuff that we don't see? If this kid was a bastard, it really isn't on this vid. You must be watching the extra long extended version. In this vid, the cop is on the verge of losing it, and to what effect? Do you think the kid learned not to call police offices "dude" or to hate cops? If the kids weren't supposed to be there, by all means shoo them away, but that berating wasn't effective or necessary. In all likelihood, the cop wanted to show these kids who is boss so that if they ever come back they would be afraid of him and be more docile but it comes with cost.
- Audacitor, on 02/13/2008, -0/+1Dude, the cop said the kid was gonna die, not the other way around. Dude.
- starkruzr, on 02/13/2008, -1/+5Wow, big Air Force tough guy. Yeah, it's great how the cop assaulted the kid for doing *precisely nothing*. Skateboarding is a crime. Awesome. PROPER response of the cop to this: Walk over to them, stand right next to them and say "Guys, I gotta ask you to leave, you can't skateboard here." If the kids had said "***** you, pig," there might have been cause for him to at least START some of this behavior. In this case, he just gets out of his pathetic little GEM car and starts screaming at the kids for no reason about "respect" and all this other *****. Respect is earned. None of this had to happen AT ALL.

Man, can we all live in your fantasy world where facts don't apply, and we all just assume *****- usafdave, on 02/26/2008, -1/+0Everyone seems to be forgetting that the kid's buddy took the video. Gee, I wonder why we have no footage of what could have set this cop off. I bet you all believe reality shows just happen to tape all the good ***** with no editing.
My bad, there are no good parts of reality shows... except what they put on the Soup. - Firgof, on 03/11/2008, -0/+1Better phrased: "My bad, I can't possibly ever consider anything that might contradict my former line of thinking, thus forcing me to publically apologize and/or change my stance in an obvious, visible fashion."
What if there were aliens in the background that were edited out? What if the tape has some leery connection to Osama Bin Laden? What if the tape was, in and of itself, the anti-christ, Allah, and the Norse Gods, physically incarnated? What if, USAFDave. What -if-.
Oh, my bad, there's no possibility you would ever consider this comment anyway... except if you wanted to bash me, slander me, or otherwise demean or rebut my character and, in stead, not direct your attention at all toward the video but toward the people responding.
Buried on a second comment. Escalated on my scales to 'suspected troll'.

- Raptor007, on 02/13/2008, -3/+11Generally skaters give themselves a bad name, but this kid was quite submissive. There was no reason for the cop to be such an *****.
- mcm020, on 02/13/2008, -14/+3I'm not taking up for the cop, but you could tell the kid had a little attitude. Same little punks that are on xbox live. Screw that kid.

- mcm020, on 02/13/2008, -2/+1Can you read ***** minds? He did, and then he told me to give my dead grandma a rim job.
- RenJen42, on 02/18/2008, -0/+0lol maybe thats the real reason the cop was pissed. "You might have pwned me on xbox, but its my turn now punkass." What a sore loser/n00b
- aphexflip, on 02/13/2008, -0/+8you're just mad because that kid probably pwnd you playing cod4
- mabhatter, on 02/13/2008, -0/+5The kids stopped skating to listen to him. If the officer wanted, he could have chased them home, but the officer attacked the kid, walked over to him from 20 feet away to physically assault him for "mouthing off". There is no excuse in our society to do that. We need to bring back public flogging for these guys.

OK so the head of the police union has not seen the video, but he is sure that it shows only part of the story. I don't care what part of the story it shows, there is nothing the kid had done to warrant that type of abuse.
- Smoove, on 02/14/2008, -0/+1Best part of the whole vid, and a telling quote. Didn't know he was being recorded? "Honest, your honor--I only brutalize kids when nobody is videotaping me. This was my first slip-up; I didn't notice the camera until too late."

- synaesthasia, on 02/12/2008, -11/+172There is nothing in any of the kids' behavior that warrants the kind of physical and verbal abuse heaped on them by a man who is obviously working through some deep insecurity issues. With a gun. Every one of these kids' respect for the law, and for law enforcement officials, has just taken a major hit. Probably permanently.
Way to go, Officer. Good thing the camera was rollin', the officer (and I use that term lightly in this case) would probably come up with some BS story to justify getting physical with the young kid.
- leonhyral, on 02/13/2008, -0/+7He no doubt would anyways, considering the tape doesn't show what transpired beforehand. But given what we have seen, the cops behavior was irrational to put it lightly.

Whats your excuse?? I'm sure you have some other innocent civilian to harass. God knows you aren't EVER somewhere that your needed.
Example: I live in South Florida(where traffic is hell to begin with), and everyday on the way home from work, the intersection of Andrews & Mcnab is completely *****. Traffic is backed up from the on ramp to 95. So I'm waiting in line for a good 15 minutes to make a right turn, only to be cut off by every douche bag that is making illegal right turn from the straight only lane. I've actually almost gotten hit a couple times because of that. ONE time there was a cop there, and that was like almost a year ago.
Not only that but i see cops all the time driving by accidents, people broken down, people flying by them at 49643978 mph and don't do anything. But dammit don't skateboard near them, that's a beat down.
- ggacid, on 02/13/2008, -1/+31I guess he'd rather them sitting at home smoking bongloads getting fat like him instead of exercising..
- tehbored, on 02/12/2008, -12/+72Do those cops really expect anyone to give them even an ounce of respect while they're wearing those ridiculous yellow uniforms? I'm sure the kid was being a douche, but no where near as big a douche as that piece of lard trying to pass himself off as a cop.

- mbraynard, on 02/13/2008, -22/+2You would think someone with a cop for a dad would refrain from calling them 'pigs' - no?
- MrMaster2, on 02/13/2008, -1/+22I wouldn't think so. The poster is merely calling a spade a spade. The guy in this video fits the very definition/stereotype of a pig cop. Someone with a cop for a dad might be more likely to call this guy a pig because this ***** is giving good cops a bad name.
- xtc46, on 02/13/2008, -3/+8pig is a derogatory term for cop...some cops are indeed pigs. I have had mostly good run ins with cops. They let me off with warning's frequently and don't hassle me. In fact, the only people i know who get "harassed" by cops...are total assholes who think cop's suck and don't think rules apply. I find the same thing occurs with black kids who think any time a teach gives them a poor grade it is racism...not that they are ***** morons who didn't do the work.
- ganjadude4391, on 02/13/2008, -0/+4ive dealt with quite a few cops in my day... maybe its cause of my name lol but seriously maybe 1 out of 10 is an *****. most the time the cops let me go or even if im wrong (i have family who are cops so i know how to talk to cops, im not some 14 year old kid BTW) i respect them and they respect me. but there are some who just think a gun and a badge is all they need to do whatever they want to. those cops are the minority, they just stand out more because when a cop does his job right, you dont even notice them around
- Dustmuffins, on 02/13/2008, -1/+5It's like chris rock refering to some black people as "*****"
- mattmy, on 02/13/2008, -1/+1just a word.

- thebitghost, on 02/13/2008, -1/+10"show respect and there are no issues." problem is, most cops have a greatly inflated idea of what it is to show respect. They are almost certainly not going to give as much respect as they demand and that is a problem.
- Ellipsys, on 02/13/2008, -1/+8Agreed. There are good officers out there. These are the people we employ to be "above" being provoked. Look at some other police videos - hell, even look at "Cops" now and then. Many of the officers are calm, collected and even understanding when it comes to dealing with irate suspects. When you're employed to look out for public safety, you have to be above outbursts like this. Otherwise, you're just a bully and a criminal with a badge.
- fatcatman, on 02/15/2008, -0/+0"show respect and there are no issues." -- I'm sorry, but ***** "show respect." Just because you completed some training and get to carry a badge and a gun doesn't mean you are worthy of respect. You have to earn it, from each and every person, each and every time you interact with them. You can do so by speaking politely and being a nice person. If you act like a prick, or have an attitude, or otherwise try to demand respect you haven't earned, I'm going to have an attitude right back at you. Your badge and gun don't mean a ***** thing to me.

- Phatlip012, on 02/12/2008, -3/+44Haha, thats funny.
- Typhoon2009, on 02/13/2008, -25/+16Careful, you'll get dugg down.... I'm not saying I totally agree with the cop's actions (frankly he went way out of line) but when a cop tells you to STFU or stop doing something, DO IT. The funniest part is watching people on Digg bitch about how they "woulda" or "shoulda" done something to the cop. Please. I bet almost everyone on Digg (including me) wouldn't dare try and run from a guy with a gun. You all act like you hate "the man" when you're just following the crowd, and not thinking for yourselves, knowing in the back of your heads you would probably follow what a cop tells you to do.
That said, this guy should get serious reprimands for that.- Narcism, on 02/13/2008, -11/+5I agree with you. All the comments I want to digg are under -10 diggs though. :(
- Bilabrin, on 02/13/2008, -0/+2That guy lost control of his temper in an attempt to "show this kid who's boss." When cops represent themselves this way it makes all cops look bad. It's not about a 14 year-old being a punk. It's about a police offercer not acting lika an adult.
- HoboMaster, on 02/13/2008, -1/+14You try to run or use force against the cop, you deserve the beating that's coming, since you're no better than he is anyways.
You get right back up in his face and tell him if he doesn't back the ***** down, you're gonna have a lawyer and a slew of lawsuits to do your damndest to get him fired. I know my rights, and he has no place physically or verbally abusing someone for skateboarding and "talking back."
Besides that, the kid's "talking back" was mostly trying to explain himself in the way that 14-year olds normally do. 14-year olds are defensive. Be a ***** adult. - omgsolzar, on 02/13/2008, -1/+3It's kind of ridiculous you think almost everyone on digg is just "following the crowd". Yes, some people, like to flex there e-peen. But mainly, people are expressing how they felt about watching the video, and what it made them them feel like doing. Personally I would have complied with his orders, but watching the video, i felt like punching the dick officer in the face, although i would never do such a thing.
Also, all your doing is saying what you "wouldda" or "shouldda" done ( obeyed the officer). - jaymzdean, on 02/13/2008, -1/+5When a cop tells you to STFU...you DO it.
When a cop tells you to punch yourself in the balls...you DO it.
When a cop tells you to suck his *****...you DO it.
When a cop tells you to stand on your head and sing jingle bells...you DO it.
When a cop...
Yea whatever.
***** YOU.

- dmeyers, on 02/13/2008, -0/+21I'd agree if he didn't grab the kid and physically attack him. Him demanding respect and maybe yelling at them to try and scare them a little is one thing. Him going up to the kid and taking the kid down and ripping the skateboard away is something else.
- Stiffler, on 02/13/2008, -3/+2Yeah, I agree with that too. Obviously someone needed to give the kid a lesson in respect, but he didn't deserve being manhandled. This kid lacks a strong authority figure in his life.

Women sue police in stop-and-strip scandal
By James Langton in New York
Last Updated: 3:55pm BST 19/06/2001
A NEW York patrolman is now in hiding, accused of stopping women drivers and ordering them to strip.
A dozen women have come forward claiming that Police Office Frank Wright and at least two other policemen ordered them to take off their clothes after stopping them for suspected driving offenses. But according to his neighbors, Frank Wright liked nothing better than having a pizza with his wife and two children.
Authorities in a string of suburban communities on Long Island are now examining arrest records for the past eight years amid fears that the cases could be the tip of the iceberg. In one incident, a woman under treatment for breast cancer says she was told to remove her blouse after being stopped with an out-of-date driving license early on New Year's Day.
The woman, known only as "Mary", has told reporters that she tried pleading with Wright to be allowed to keep her clothes on because of her surgical scars. However, she said: "I took my top off because I didn't want to go to jail."
The alleged incident that broke the scandal also took place on January 1. Angela Torres, a 27-year-old from Mastic Beach, Long Island, says she was handcuffed by Wright and driven off in his police car after failing a breathalyser test.
Five streets away from her home, she says she was told to undress and walk the rest of the way wearing only knickers and shoes. She and two other women have now launched a $15 million (£10.3 million) lawsuit against Suffolk County Police.
Wright is currently suspended without pay and could face criminal charges. His lawyer says Wright's 12-year police career is in ruins and he is now looking for a job outside the force. At least eight of the women who have come forward in the past month have identified him as the officer who made them strip.
Tracy Deon, 34, told investigators that she was sleeping in her car after a row with her husband in a bar when Wright approached the vehicle. Mrs Deon, a waitress, said: "He cocked his head to the right, implying that I should pull up my blouse. I pulled up my blouse and he kept looking. I then pulled up my bra and he flashed the flashlight on me."
Julianna Rubio, a 20-year-old student, says she was forced to strip by Wright after she failed a breath test. She said: "I thought he was going to rape me." Although Wright is not accused of sexually assaulting his victims, at least two other women have come forward to make more serious allegations against so-far unidentified policemen in the same district.
One officer is alleged to have entered the bedroom of a woman he had previously stopped five times for minor traffic offenses, taken off his trousers and demanded sex. She was able to persuade him to leave. The publicity given to the case has led to a spate of similar reports from other parts of New York State.
Another Long Island policeman, Matthew Murphy, is now facing sodomy charges after allegations of sexual assault that were not investigated properly until five months after a complaint was made. In the town of Wallkill, a number of officers have been suspended and are accused by New York's attorney general of shining torches on women's breasts and offering to drop tickets for trumped-up traffic offenses in exchange for dates.
We need more cops like this, huh? Im sure these women totally deserved it right??
They must have mouthed off
Imagine how many cases of this we don't hear about simply because alot of cops cover eachother's asses.
- phenry50BMG, on 02/12/2008, -14/+468From the fat ***** piece of ***** in the bumblebee outfit with a tin badge @ 1:59 : "...the sooner you learn that, the longer you're going to live in this world. 'Cause you go around doing this kind of stuff, somebody's gonna kill you!"
If you were to say that to a cop, it would be considered a death threat and you'd be looking at some serious *****. Apparently it's OK for the boys in blue...er bumblebee costumes...to say it to us.
That bastard should be removed from the force immediately. If you cops want our respect, you EARN it. I don't respect anyone just because of some badge, black robe or ***** title. My respect is earned rather than given. Fear and respect are two completely different things.
You'll follow a man into battle that you respect. You'll frag the ***** you fear.- Mr8lack, on 02/13/2008, -3/+21well said...
- BryanJK, on 02/13/2008, -0/+16i think i just died when you said "bumblebee costumes"
- Knucklecallus, on 02/13/2008, -1/+1I was just about to comment on that
- Disease, on 02/13/2008, -0/+13His outfit makes him look like he's wearing his pants up to his chest.
- stackered, on 02/13/2008, -0/+9I wonder if its legal to stop an abusive cop by citizens arrest. I know that I would have definitely approached him if I saw this going on, I really don't care about the consequences.
- kcap122, on 02/13/2008, -0/+2LOL I'm sorry did you just suggest that we still have the power of citizen's arrest in this country?
- sykotik, on 02/13/2008, -0/+4I agree, had I been passing by I would have certainly intervened. That dude(HAH!) seemed to be yelling as loud as he could to get the attention of passers-by. I would have been one passer-by that he would not have wanted to get the attention of, a badge means nothing to me. You're still human, you still bleed. I'm not saying I would have gotten physical, that's just the way I view the world. Earn respect, don't try and force it from people, that just doesn't work.
- fatcatman, on 02/15/2008, -0/+1I agree with you completely, except that, when he attacked that kid, I WOULD have gotten physical. His badge means NOTHING to me, either, with the exception that it makes this situation so much worse. He is supposed to be held to a higher standard.
- moonym, on 02/13/2008, -0/+7I put on my black robe and wizard hat...respect me
- starkruzr, on 02/13/2008, -0/+10If you go around calling people "dude" and skateboarding, someone's gonna kill you.
Wow. - earlcandlelight, on 02/13/2008, -4/+0Why the hell would a person that risks his life every day to make sure that you live safely need to earn your respect? Granted, this cop is a bit wound up and probably should be receiving some punishment for his actions, but it pisses me off to hear assholes spouting off about cops being respectful. You should be thanking every cop you see. Don't take what you ave for granted, without cops, you would be a very unhappy person.
- Smoove, on 02/14/2008, -0/+3I carry a firearm. I'll protect my own safety, thanks. Meanwhile, stormtrooper wannabes like this ***** can go the ***** home and whack off to Dirty Harry for all I care.
- Samtherocker, on 02/16/2008, -0/+1You seriously think that *this* cop risks his life every day for the good of others? Not all cops are good people you know.
- Bukowsky, on 02/12/2008, -4/+95This really pisses me the ***** off. Why wasn't this cop arrested for that? I would be arrested if I did that to someone for NO REASON!
- Tyrghast, on 02/13/2008, -16/+2uh, he had a reason to confront those kids. they were skateboarding where skateboarding is strictly prohibited. the kid also refused to listen to the cop initially. the manhandling was uncalled for but everything prior to that the cop was in the right.
- superdoofus, on 02/13/2008, -1/+1the manhandling was not only uncalled for, but illegal and therefore punishable by dismissal and/or sentencing. get it right.
the fact that this occurred against a minor amplifies the severity of the officer's actions, which will be taken into consideration during the course of the investigation. an officer that breaks the law ceases to be an officer OF the law the moment he places himself willfully within the realm of criminality. - starkruzr, on 02/13/2008, -1/+3Wrong. They stopped what they were doing to listen to him. All the cop had to do was walk up to them and ask them to please stop and go somewhere skateboarding was allowed. That was apparently too much, because the cop was overweight and preferred to stay in his incredibly badass electric go-kart.
- superdoofus, on 02/13/2008, -1/+1the manhandling was not only uncalled for, but illegal and therefore punishable by dismissal and/or sentencing. get it right.
- IChazI, on 02/13/2008, -1/+3I watched this video, and it made me want to give him a piece of my mind. Cops aren't supposed to talk like that, if someone addresses them as dude whoop dee ***** doo. The kid wasn't being rude or raising his voice at all, and here the cop was yelling his ass off. What is up with that? It's a 14 year old kid.
- Brennan, on 02/13/2008, -2/+1RIght on man, so when this goes to court he can just call the judge "dude" instead of "your honor". whoop de ***** doo right?
- parkermauney, on 02/13/2008, -0/+1Someone could kill your friends and family and you'd still be arrested for doing that.
- jtingley, on 02/12/2008, -10/+72Yes Most Baltimore Cops are just like this piece of *****! I should Know, I'm from that ***** hole!!!

- thzae, on 02/13/2008, -0/+4Same, I've been pulled over for some of the dumbest ***** imaginable.
The cops around here are just absolute pricks. - Hangly, on 02/13/2008, -1/+1To many cops become cops to boost their failing self-esteem.

Man. My bad. I just got back from a trip to Philly... maybe that was it? I don't know. Dementia.
Wow. Epic Fail.- Jibberwalk, on 02/13/2008, -0/+26We'll try one more time. I have a trip to Dallas in a week... hopefully I don't ***** up this time around.

Shows the maturity around here.- Vapor17, on 02/13/2008, -8/+2his original post says Philadelphia, not Baltimore

His information showed up on a cop talk message board, then he started recording cop cars sitting outside his house and following him around as soon as he would leave.

- Mist0r_Wiggles, on 02/13/2008, -0/+7don't all cops have tasers now?

- TehSwat, on 02/12/2008, -21/+11Very end of the video: "Is that camera on... because if I find myself on you-..."
Oh snap. - GeorgeStone2, on 02/12/2008, -34/+4Wow. The second that cop laid a hand on me I would have floored him.
Especially as it was all on film.- phenry50BMG, on 02/13/2008, -1/+27From looking at him, I'm guessing that tossing a couple of donuts on the floor would have done the trick. He'd have pounced on them like mother's milk.
- mbraynard, on 02/13/2008, -3/+26Hah. Internet tough guy syndrome.
- jaymzdean, on 02/13/2008, -1/+1It's funny. People think that there are tough guys and then there are the pussies that use the internet. But no tough guys on the internet. An irrational thought from the irrational mind of a pussy.
- GeorgeStone2, on 02/13/2008, -1/+13Question.
If you restrain a policeman after he wrongfully attacked you.
Will the law be on your side?- GIFF3, on 02/13/2008, -0/+13heck no.
- xtc46, on 02/13/2008, -0/+9no. You will be tased and possibly be shot.
- techmaster, on 02/13/2008, -0/+10Is the law ever on your side?
- MacGyverDXS, on 02/13/2008, -0/+6no.
- likwidfuzion, on 02/13/2008, -2/+6Resisting arrest/physical contact with a police officer is stupid, no matter the situation. It's wiser to obey orders for now and then seek justice in the courtroom.
- xtc46, on 02/13/2008, -0/+7no you wouldnt. Especially if you were half his weight and about a foot and a half shorter.
- kita8, on 02/14/2008, -0/+1hehe, half his weight? i'd say more like an eighth of his weight, fat ass cop
- GeorgeStone2, on 02/13/2008, -0/+3It doesn't seem fair that they can do illegal things with delayed and unfair consequences..
They attack him, scare the little kid *****. And in maybe 6 months he will be found not guilty.
Restraining him would have been swift and fair justice.
Yet it doesn't work like that, because he has a badge. - Hangly,
