        reasons the photo isn't likely to be fake...
        -That "drop shadow" is 100% consistent with a flash being just above the lens.
        -The lack of motion blur follows the flash scenario. Not a whole lot happens in 1/100,000th of a second so things look like they don't move.
        -That guy in the background has redeye. Flash clues are adding up here.....
        -The lens is dirty as *****. Who bothers adding real looking garbage to a photo? This looks like a frat anyhow so things are going to be dirty.
        -It's trivial. Would you rather photocrap something worth laughing at or just take a real photo?

        That's probably abusing the comment system but I'd rather that than be told that I scratched together some facts off the internet to look like I know something..........

          Photo two, composition could be improved if you had the full reflections in the water. You put the subject right in the center. It would have been better to have 2/3 water, 1/3 lighthouse. Look up "Rule of Thirds"

          Photo Three would not be a bad shot if you had the camera level. It has fairly good composition.

          Photo Four. way too much sky. You know lightning isn't going to occur where there are no clouds. Even if you didn't zoom in, CROP IN.

Besides that, change won't happen unless people complain about the problems of the status quo, so it's only natural and necessary that people complain about pictures being the main focus of Digg these days.
          And as an aside, I remember that Digg as well. It was good, and people were intelligent. I actually felt comfortable using the site to replace televised news. Now, I go to Digg if I want to see something funny and spend 20 minutes trying to find some important, relevant news article.
