          The New Zealand accent has a notoriously shortened long-i (/iː/) vowel sound. It has almost reached the point where it's really just a schwa. On the other hand, the Australian accent has a notoriously lengthened long-i sound.

          So, when New Zealanders make fun of Australians, they do it like this: "fiiiish and chiiiips". But, when Australians make fun of New Zealanders they hit a problem: there's no easy way to notate a schwa without resorting to IPA. So, they replace the vowels with a 'u', which in Australian English is quite a short vowel sound. Thus: "fush and chups".

          When talking to Australians, just pretend you agree with them. Ditto for Kiwis. It's not worth getting caught in the middle.

      It's definitely not a Kiwi accent. There's no need to speculate about that, because at 6:17 she says "dance". New Zealanders (myself included) pronounce dance with an /ɑː/, the same vowel sound you hear in "father" or "pa". She pronounces it with an /æ/, which is a key shibboleth (along with the /ɪ/ to /ə/ shift in Kiwi-speak) to distinguish Australian speakers from New Zealand ones.

      Rule of thumb to remember: in New Zealand English, "dance" and "romance" don't rhyme.
