How to Outsell World of Warcraft watch!
wegame.com — It's easy to see why this game could kill WoW by this video.

- Archeologist, on 07/08/2008, -5/+113It must be impossible to get anywhere in Age of Conan.
- Jhiaxuz, on 07/09/2008, -12/+8Actually, the moving system in AoC is pretty stupid. Full plate wearing Guardians can use stealth is an example of this.
Assassins are pretty much boned on the one skill and advantage they have because any class can stealth.- DMDekoth, on 07/09/2008, -0/+15The heavier the armor, the less effective the stealth is. Guardians in full plate are very easily spotted. Also, non rogue classes use tons of stamina to stealth and move very slowly. It's not even worth investing more than one point into stealth as a Guardian.
- NICU, on 07/09/2008, -8/+19Getting somewhere isn't the problem in AoC, the problem is that there's no where to go... The game is incredibly boring, and the cool features that everyone bought the game for (huge PvP sieges) don't work. The game requires a top of the line PC just to play - any average gamer would lag so badly in PvP combat that they'd never see what killed them.
Save yourself the $50 + $15/month that video you just watched is the best part of the whole game.- HotDogBun, on 07/09/2008, -18/+6*****.
It's a very fun and engaging game that does not fall into the same worn out grooves as other MMOs. The wife and i would rather play AoC even with it's lack of polish, as opposed to the mindless boring grind of WoW. - paintaddict, on 07/09/2008, -3/+10You nailed it man.
Game needs polish and 5 more months of development time - spaceman84, on 07/09/2008, -3/+12Don't forget the complete lack of decent loot. Blizzard knows the importance of loot. It's a big factor in WoW - just look at the instance grinding for complete sets and the continual introduction of NEW armor sets, and hell, they've made two Diablo games that basically center around the acquisition of new gear. Age of Conan on the other hand, has really *****, generic loot, not enough of it, and WAY too frequently reused models and textures. The lack of decent loot eliminates half of the reason for griding in an MMO, which makes the game feel incomplete and unsatisfying. There's no tangible reward for the time invested.
- Cerialthriller, on 07/09/2008, -0/+7grinding the same Villa quests everyday for 3 or 4 levels is very engaging and fun.
- HotDogBun, on 07/09/2008, -18/+6*****.
- themastersb, on 07/09/2008, -1/+5It's reasons like this that people I know have stopped playing. Mostly in pvp though.
- Raingwc, on 07/09/2008, -0/+1People need to stop posting the videos made by Goons as something else.
- Jhiaxuz, on 07/09/2008, -12/+8Actually, the moving system in AoC is pretty stupid. Full plate wearing Guardians can use stealth is an example of this.
- DxunOrdo, on 07/08/2008, -1/+44Hi ho Silver!! away!
- marcc16, on 07/09/2008, -20/+199This game is a joke. I hit 80 three weeks ago and there has not been any fix or addition to end game content, which at the time is nearly non-existent. Feats are still broken, PvP is unbalanced and the massive PvP that the game boasts resulted in my guild mates falling through the map and unable to rejoin the game. The crafting system has been called the worst in MMO history, not to mention alchemy still flat out does not work. The petitions you file actually EXPIRE after 4 hours, and there is nothing you can do if the GM does not respond. The only reason this game was released when it did was because they were losing funding and couldn't continue to work on the game without any more money. And this video is funny, until you actually realize you can stealth or crouch to walk through the person. Worst $50 I ever spent.
- Archeologist, on 07/09/2008, -0/+40Wow that sounds pretty bad actually. I've only heard good things about the game until now.
- Jhiaxuz, on 07/09/2008, -4/+38It was a fun game for the first week that I owned it. The innovation of the combat system and the M rating content only last so long before it just feels like an over used and over rated gimmick.
Traveling before getting to level 40 (who am I kidding, getting 3g by 40 is retarded unless you can use that garbage auction house well) alone was a big turn off for me as well. Compared to wow (time wise), it would be like running from Thunder Bluff to Ogrimmar to catch a Dirigible to Undercity and run to Eastern Plaguelands for some quests.
Crafting? I couldn't even do the first crafting quest because it failed to recognize the leathers I had previously acquired and it just so happens they drop about as frequently as the sky.
In all honesty, AoC reminded me of the good things WoW has mastered. For better or worse, WoW is about as good as it gets in terms of crafting, grinding solo, and content for pve and pvp. - Pake, on 07/09/2008, -1/+7Yeah, it's a fun game until you hit 50 and then everything goes downhill quickly. I was playing as a ranger and made it to 49, not to far from 50 and then they released a patch that managed to break pretty much half my abilities (what wasn't broke before that is, which means 75% of my abilities were now pretty much junk). So without quest to do post-50, any class that isn't OP has to grind out boring ass mobs with no real drops. What I mean by no real drops is that stats on armor doesn't even work, so you might find a chest piece that is filled with stats, but the only thing it does it change what you look like in the end.
- jaspr180, on 07/09/2008, -21/+7Jhiaxuz
I was going to agree with your post until I read your last paragraph and negated any credibility. I hate to ask this but it seems for many WoW was their first and only MMO, maybe your in this category. I will agree with you that WoW has mastered the "solo grind" and I found the pve to be rather fun also. I will not agree that it has done anything else for the genre. Though I am truly fond of SWG crafting system I still wouldn't say they mastered it but came far closer than what Blizzard ever has. I also see you believe blizzard has mastered MMO pvp. Yep thats right other companies should just stop developing and copy "battlegrounds/arenas" so we can all be content with that since that IS the best. Get out of your hole and go play some Eve online or daoc and you can see what real pvp is like.
On a side note, I played WoW on release and there were a lot of bugs / missing features. You can judge this game in another 5 months I say. - Jhiaxuz, on 07/09/2008, -2/+19Jaspr180
I was going to agree with your post until I read your entire paragraph. You are basing the fact that I, a newcomer to the world of MMO, is giving me a false sense of what is good and what is not. This is irrelevant in that we all have different opinions of the topic at hand and some of us are not graced with having a MMO trophy for amount of titles played. To some of us, the newcomers to the MMO genre, what we found in WoW is a solid and easy title to grow into if we so chose to. The same goes for any other MMO game out there. In comparison, the crafting system and PvP between AoC and WoW are like night and day.
As a casual player, like many out there, we play to what appeals to us; however, in your case, if we play to what does not appeal to you and enjoy it above another game, we are treated as ignorant to other titles because we do not have the ability, time, and/or finances to play every game cast under the sun.
So please, don't be so ignorant. Case in point, I have played Eve Online and I was not fond of it. Does this mean it's not a good MMO? Of course not! I just have the luxury of understanding that we all have different preferences in terms of good or bad and that we gamers appeal to different titles, whereas you seem to lack this ability.
To negate credibility due to my opinion truly speaks wonders on your character and for that, your post holds no credibility. - cheeseron, on 07/09/2008, -1/+3@jaspr180
Yeah, star wars galaxies did so many things wrong but the craft system was awesome, the completely player propelled economies were awesome, the pvp wasn't terrible, the level up system was awesome. no need to make a new character if you decide to be a medic. - nickbertovich, on 07/09/2008, -0/+0It was very highly anticipated, as I recall. But now that it's been released, the general opinion has reversed.
- Cerialthriller, on 07/09/2008, -0/+1all the reviews say good things because they only play the first 10 or 15 levels on the starter island where all the NPCs have voice-overs and its nice and polished, and its pretty fun until you get into the 50s and there are no more quests to do.. and you have to kill thousands of cannibals over and over. or do the same 4 repeatable quests over and over..
- Jhiaxuz, on 07/09/2008, -4/+38It was a fun game for the first week that I owned it. The innovation of the combat system and the M rating content only last so long before it just feels like an over used and over rated gimmick.

Glad I didn't try this one, or any of the 200 other MMO's that have come and gone since WoW.- HotDogBun, on 07/09/2008, -14/+5Well, you won;t hear much good about AoC from the no-lifers who play an MMO 21 hours a day in desperate hopes of attaining a level of superiority in the game that helps them compensate for the psychologically damaging inadequacies they suffer through in real life. That's why they hit lvl 80 in 2 weeks and get bored.
My wife and I play games casually, and thusfar we have found AoC to be immensely enjoyable. - Rodalli, on 07/09/2008, -3/+30Yeah, it's pretty bad. I didn't even finish playing my free month before I uninstalled. The huge guild city building/siegeing system that was supposed to be the main feature of the game that everyone was so worked up about? Yeah, it's not implemented. And judging by the other parts of the game, if it ever is implemented, it probably won't work. Total faceplant fail of a game.
If you don't believe me, don't waste your $50 to find out. on the flipside, the patches have been fixing alot, by the time WotLK comes out it should be a viable alternative.
i was hoping the game would be closer to a MMO with Jedi Knight movement and gameplay.... man i was off.
to be fair, its not too bad, its a 7/10 in my book, just not worth as much as i threw at it.- digichris, on 07/09/2008, -0/+3Looking back...I also got caught up in the hype of Vanguard... payed $50-something for a digital download. Played it for about 3 days. I learned my lesson tho =]

- NICU, on 07/09/2008, -1/+10I got suckered into buying this game with the promises of PvP that's better than WoW - full guild vs guild cities in epic sieges... The sieges don't work. The game's requirements are so incredibly high that unless you have a top-of-the-line PC you'll never see what killed you in any mid-sized PvP fight. Don't waste your money on this junk.
- HotDogBun, on 07/09/2008, -23/+1I have a a1730n HP machine with a 99 dollar gfx card. Runs smoothly at high settings no matter how crowded the city is. Your comment is just another lie from a WoW fanboy.

- Nodaki, on 07/09/2008, -9/+15AOC Review:
I certainly wont throw away much time on it; not like the total addictive time suck that WoW is.
I find it very easy to play as a casual player. I have been playing since launch and I have one level 42 Guardian. I have run one group instance (Sanctum) and thought it was done brilliantly albeit too easy.
I have not participated in organized PvP except for fighting the normal gankers you fight on a PvP server. The fights are typically long and full of action but many times a losing party can just do a snare/root combo and run away.
The boobs, mature story line, beautiful scenery, and ultra-violence are icing on the cake. I would recommend it to the casual gamer who does not want to spend more than ten hours a week on it. I would not recommend it to the person that wants to devote their life to a game and is burned out on WoW.
Rant about the haters:
MOST of the people complaining about this game have already spent a vast amount of time playing it. These people are complaining about a game they have thrown a 100+ hours on already. Where else are you going to get 100+ hours of entertainment for 65$? Perhaps, these people who have already maxed out are people have spent their entire summer thus far, couped up next to their computer. Perhaps they have a rash on their ass, bad posture, and smell like that guy at work who games too much. Perhaps being pissed about a game that does not deliver the tingle up the nutsack rush that only sex, and enjoying life delivers is more understandable now.- spaceman84, on 07/09/2008, -1/+9I don't think I've even spent 20 hours playing AoC and I'm already tired of it. The loot sucks and looks the same, so there's no tangible reward for my time and effort, and the whole world feels like a generic single player RPG with most of the role playing and multiplayer elements removed. I'm not even going to bother playing for my entire free month - the game is ***** BORING.
- Emelius, on 07/09/2008, -0/+5I would say thats a fair review, I spend about 1-2 hours a day playing it, and I can gain a level a day with just that, and I find it very entertaining.
- Th1rte3n, on 07/09/2008, -1/+9The problem is, it's the hardcore players who have spent 100 hours on the game who are complaining now, but eventually the casual players will have logged 100 hours played as well. It will just take them more time (and consequently more money) to reach the same inevitable state of boredom.
You can rag on Blizzard all you want, but they've got one thing right: they don't release a product until it's good and ready. - Llanowar, on 07/09/2008, -2/+4It could be just me, Th1rte3n, but from what I've heard the release of WoW didn't exactly go smoothly.
AoC just needs some more time. And they better spend that time right otherwise this mmo will fail horribly. If they do it right it might still be a huge success. - ConceptualTrap, on 07/09/2008, -0/+4Llanowar...I was there at WoW's launch and besides some server issues the launch was the smoothest I've ever seen in an MMO. The game was "finished" when it launched. And as for the servers, the first few months of WoW were filled with Blizzard giving you extra days on your monthly subscription because servers were spotty for a few hours on Wednesday night.
That said, I'm so burnt out by WoW at this point that I have zero interest in WotLK. What WoW needs now is content for people that don't want to raid and pvp grind. Player houses, more complex crafting, professions that actually matter.
- themastersb, on 07/09/2008, -0/+6marcc is obviously a victim of being kicked off a cliff.

- bizz0ris, on 07/09/2008, -5/+5NEEERRDD RAGE!
- Emelius, on 07/09/2008, -1/+4This game isn't that bad, and the end game siege content is in, actually, its just that with the best top-of-the-line PC you only get 2-4fps, imagine having the crappiest machine. This is the only game that measures FPS as SPF when your machine is really bad (Seconds per frame), imagine getting 5 SPF. Makes you want to shoot yourself.
- thedarkwolf, on 07/09/2008, -0/+2wholly crap. 5 FPS makes me want to shoot myself. 5 SPF or (1/5 FPS) would make me jump out of an airplane with no parachute while stabbing myself repeatedly in the eyes all the way down.
- ChiBull23, on 07/09/2008, -10/+1Computer Game - $30.00

Watching 30 year old idiots play games online - Priceless- Yesplease, on 07/09/2008, -1/+5what a strange and uninformed comment. "Computer games" cost around $60 (this one in particular is 65 I believe), there is no need for an external hard drive (is there something wrong with the internal?) Laughing at gamers? That stopped being cool right after I got laid and got a life.
You should try it.

- AbsurdParadox, on 07/09/2008, -3/+1Have you considered trying Eve Online? If you're looking for a game with great PVP, tons of complexity, and a change of pace, its got a ton going for it. A lot of people have trouble switching from Fantasy to Space-sci-fi, but it really is the biggest, most "hardcore" MMO out there.
- cawfee, on 07/09/2008, -0/+1Enjoy your second day job.
- evetsleep, on 07/09/2008, -0/+1Some people could say the same for WoW (except those who literally play all day and in some cases...to death).
- SpeedSteamBoat, on 07/09/2008, -0/+1Eve has to be the biggest yawn fest ever. It was cool for all of a day and a half for me. Grinding the same half dozen quests (and all the quests are the same everywhere) is not engaging, and the ships I buy are not rewarding. Even the combat is boring. *Lock-On* *Wait...* *Lock-On* *Wait...*
The GUI is also very clumsy, and the community generally feels disconnected if not non-existent. Most of the time I felt totally alone.
The whole thing quickly became no fun at all. - allenthar, on 07/09/2008, -0/+1My primary issue with Eve is that I can play a second game while I'm traveling anywhere. It just takes so freaking long to get anywhere that any fun is sucked from the rest of the game. The whole crafting system and player corporations is cool as hell, but they need to find a way to cut out the boring sections of the game so that it is more engaging. When it takes 15 minutes to loot everything after a big mission, something is messed up.
- digichris, on 07/09/2008, -0/+1Eve online was the most boring and over-elaborate game I have ever played (for about an hour, in which i think i was still reading the tutorial with my sound turned down to avoid the annoying computer voice reading it to me). Thank god I did their trial and wasnt suckered into purchasing a digital download.
This is all of course, IMO.
- Uciaf, on 07/09/2008, -1/+0You need to remember AoC is a _new_ MMORG. MMORGs have LOTS of flaws in the beginning. Just look at WoW. At first, it sucked. But now it is full grown. See what you think about it in a year before you loose AoC players on Digg.
- ConceptualTrap, on 07/09/2008, -0/+2People always say WoW sucked in the beginning. WoW was addictive right off the bat when those servers launched. Things have greatly improved but the most notable change since launch is simply server stability.
- Thorlord, on 07/10/2008, -0/+1being somone who has played wow 8 months before it launched. i can safely say:
no, WoW never sucked. it only began to suck when you had done everything, been everywhere, and had a level 60 of each class. BC came out and gave me a little more joy, but right now, the only thing that has any value in WoW, is the PvP.
- BobOki, on 07/09/2008, -0/+2No MMO I have played or betad since Ultima Online has had THIS many problems and NOT delivered what is clearly written on the box.
Ignore things like spellweaving not working like its written,. half the classes not working like they are written, and more than 3/4ths of the world not populated, the game does not even have the technologies in place it promised. There is STILL no DirectX10 support. There is STILL no phsyx support. Rich voice acting? Yeah, for the first city which is 10 levels, that's IT.
I will not say anything about the end game content or how EASY it is to level, that's already been said, but man, I'll be honest with you, this game IS in beta. I was in on the beta and I could hardly call that ALPHA.
How many MMOs do you play with area loadtimes? How about loadtimes when you go in or out of a building? Oh yeah, you CAN be ganked while loading... there is a short period of invulnerability, but if you are on a slow pc that is over before you are even half load. I have a uber machine and this game is still slow on it.... slow on a dual 9800 gx2 system?
The graphics engine seems like it has not been optimized at all.
All in all, the game IS fun, the graphics look decent, the MATURE CONTENT IS FREAKING AWESOME AND NO omgomgomgwtfbbq kids running around is a godsend, but really, this game is not currently worth paying for. They have a LONG way to go to get to what is even written on the box you purchase. Just go to their forums and .... oh, thats right, they don't let you see all the complaints on their forums unless you are a paying member.
Last words on this, "Funcom" - DisturbedOne, on 07/09/2008, -1/+0Awesome, never getting this game, thanks for the heads up. Alrhough I must say, that is pretty hilarious to be able to kick people off cliffs like that

- Brad324, on 07/09/2008, -2/+15yeah, if you're setting the bar at WoW, you're only setting yourself up for major disappointment.
- debuggercll, on 07/09/2008, -2/+9That's what she said!
- Gregus1032, on 07/09/2008, -9/+4Lineage 2 has sold over 20 million copies. WoW has sold 10 million. What's so funny about outselling wow?
- JeffD, on 07/09/2008, -0/+14WoW has over 10 million current subscribers, not 10 million copies sold. I'm sure the number of people who bought the game and played it for a few months before getting bored is higher than that... they cant have a 100% retention rate.
That said... yeah outselling WoW isn't that hard, its keeping the number of paying subscribers that WoW has thats the hard part. - Gregus1032, on 07/09/2008, -0/+1JeffD, they sold over 10 million copies and has over 8 million subscribers last i remember. even if im wrong, i know they haven't outsold lineage 2 or lineage 1 (lineage 1 is over 43 million)

- Final, on 07/09/2008, -1/+3The only thing to outsell WoW and REALLY steal customers will be SC2 and D3.
- thedarkwolf, on 07/09/2008, -1/+2really steal customers. lol. Take a guess at which company creates SC2 and D3
- ConceptualTrap, on 07/09/2008, -0/+1I assume you realize that SC2 and D3 are both made by Blizzard. But you're right. The biggest hit to WoW, subscriptionwise will be Diablo 3.
- Brad324, on 07/09/2008, -2/+15yeah, if you're setting the bar at WoW, you're only setting yourself up for major disappointment.
- morninglorii, on 07/09/2008, -2/+20Before the abbreviation fully registered in my head, I was thinking "Wow... Dark Age of Camelot looks a LOT better than when I last played."
- flashingcurser, on 07/09/2008, -0/+3Is that game still going? I really liked it as distraction from eq.
- milsorgen, on 07/09/2008, -0/+4i thought the same thing, then i wondered where the D was
- DforSpiD, on 07/09/2008, -0/+3Yeah they appear to be, I might get into it again too, it was always my favourite MMORPG

- wexmajor, on 07/09/2008, -15/+2AoC sucks, WAR will pwn everything. It won't outsell WoW though, because it's not aimed towards preteens.
- Borgcube636, on 07/09/2008, -1/+4Too bad WAR looks graphically very similar to WoW. The animations are horrible (they look mechanical/robotic), and combat looks just like WoW. Boring. Nothing new.
- Nextrix, on 07/10/2008, -0/+1Ya it is too bad that the Warhammer game sets came out before Warcraft period. Who stole from who now? I still have to give Blizzard credit for polishing a great game no matter what ideas they used to make it. I just don't see any real innovation be presented into the world anymore. It was a large leap when it was first released and now what, they are adding siege weapons in WotLK... wow I am sooo impressed...
But really I am not interested in WAR because of the graphics or models, it is more about the gameplay and what I can do as a character I am interested in. Nothing new, WTF are you talking about. Have you really done any research on the game at all. A lot of the ideas they got on the table are much more innovative than anything I can see from other MMO (well besides EVE and maybe APB) that are willing to risk to implement.

- bman85, on 07/09/2008, -3/+6crappy shows dont last ten years.
- Zaggynl, on 07/09/2008, -2/+2ZING, nice one bman85
- seraph582, on 07/09/2008, -2/+1Yeah no kidding. That show is effing horrible.
- weinystew, on 07/10/2008, -1/+0Its last 10 years because of little fan boys like bman calling into production companies to keep it on. Jericho? How do you think a show like that lasted this long. I'll tell you why because the network caved into a petition. The Stargate movie was a pile of filth, and the show follows pursuit rather nicely in that same pile of filth way. The only reason the movie got any props was because it was the 90s when it came out. Do you know what was else was popular in the 90s? Full House, MC Hammer, and torn jeans......
Pogs were popular.....end of statement.
- boshuda, on 07/09/2008, -1/+6Wow...they said that about AOC as well... people ae starting to come back to WoW.... I'd hold my tongue.
- Llanowar, on 07/09/2008, -0/+1They have said that about tons of games.
The simple thing here is, WoW doesn't require a huge computer, already has a huge fanbase (with the name behind it it had a huge fanbase even when it was first mentioned they were making it)
And there aren't a lot of companies who can put so much commersializing behind their products as blizzard.
But surely it will be dethroned some day. As I don't doubt even Runescape will have better graphics soon. :p

- randomguy7824, on 07/09/2008, -2/+1If the other MMOs were better, more people would play them.
- MrG021, on 08/05/2008, -0/+0Yeah. It has nothing to do with pre-teens taste in entertainment or anything.
Pokemon, Helly Kitty and WoW are just the 3 best forms of entertainment on the planet.. period The numbers prove it.

- Switch22, on 07/09/2008, -9/+4Actually, my friend was mind controlling players off cliffs in WoW.
- bigp3rm, on 07/09/2008, -2/+12I played that game for a few hours.. Man did it suck.
- analogkid01, on 07/09/2008, -3/+2Isn't that kind of like saying, "I ate that entire large pizza...man, it tasted terrible"?
- Lythium, on 07/09/2008, -0/+2A good MMO should keep you amused for months. If it only got you to log on for a few hours, it's more like taking a tiny nibble on the edge of a pizza and spitting it out in disgust.
- ConceptualTrap, on 07/09/2008, -0/+2I disagree with this notion. WoW, from the get go had people hooked. I think it was the animation, very obvious level progression, and the fluidity and cohesiveness of the graphics. I played AoC for a few hours at a friends and it just didn't hold me. There's something that seems decidedly unpolished about it. The animations are smooth but the transitions between them are very clunky. Everything feels stiff and without personality. I mean, it's not EQ2 bad, but I had little interest in seeing anything more.
WoW, the first time I logged in I played for about 4 hours and the only reason I logged off was because the servers crashed (that was launch). I'd still be playing WoW if I didn't hate the endgame so much. - Nistelrooy, on 07/11/2008, -0/+1Wow, I cannot agree more with the WoW endgame.
- analogkid01, on 07/09/2008, -3/+2Isn't that kind of like saying, "I ate that entire large pizza...man, it tasted terrible"?

- Tyrghast, on 07/09/2008, -2/+5Summoning people off cliffs or jacking your friends account and putting his hs in the bank and leaving him naked in the middle of tanaris with no gold is more fun.
- YevS, on 07/09/2008, -0/+4Doesn't Tanaris have a bank?
- MendozaLine, on 07/09/2008, -0/+2Leaving them in Blackrock Mountain was better. don't forget to destroy the hearthstone!
- lantza, on 07/09/2008, -0/+1Auto unstuck to the rescue.
Better trick, change your mage friend's ice block and blink buttons to a macro (with the correct icon) that says "LOL ICEBLOCK" and "LOL BLINK" and THEN summon him off a cliff.
- lantza, on 07/09/2008, -0/+1Auto unstuck to the rescue.
- boo19, on 07/09/2008, -0/+1Naked in the middle of Tanaris? A level 40+ zone? Who cares? The mobs do like 2 damage each. But I guess nobody's played burning crusade. I mean, Blackrock Mountain? Seriously?
- decker12, on 07/09/2008, -0/+1Put his HS in the bank, equip him with only a diving helmet or that water breathing staff from Gnomergon, and swim him way the ***** out in the water (and dive very deep) near Azshara. There are a few places where you can swim far enough out that you can't see land, and your blip will show up "in between" maps, so your buddy won't have much of a clue where he actually is.
- knodi, on 07/09/2008, -7/+2Hahaha that was mad funny.
- ppilatee, on 07/09/2008, -0/+3Too bad they broke the mount abilities two or three patches ago, and are currently non-existent.
- jcani, on 07/09/2008, -8/+2funny but outsell WoW ? please try again
- Gregus1032, on 07/09/2008, -2/+4It's been done. WoW has just done a better job at keeping players. There is a big difference.
- DarkDx, on 07/09/2008, -2/+2How to outsell WoW:
1. Make a mMo with updated graphics
2. Promise a good ***** of stuff that wont end up win the final product for at least the first 5 months.
3.???
4. PROFIT!
(3= players left after 1 month but you at least outsold wow). - jcani, on 07/09/2008, -0/+1I'd like to see some facts behind that Gregus. "WoW has just done a better job at keeping players. There is a big difference."
Care to explain the difference? Since you prefer to get anal... - Gregus1032, on 07/09/2008, -0/+1@jacani http://gonintendo.com/?p=11488
Lineage was an MMO and it sold 45 million. WoW has sold 10 million copies. Not to mention Lineage 2 sold about 20 million copies.
The reason why it's a big difference is because if people dont keep playing it they won't keep talking about it. This is why you don't hear about Lineage and Lineage 2 over WoW.
- DarkDx, on 07/09/2008, -2/+2How to outsell WoW:

- Morghin, on 07/09/2008, -2/+6AoC lacks polish. It's like playing a beta. It's oddly reminiscent of WoW in late alpha...
- kinjutsu, on 07/09/2008, -0/+6Horse kicking was nerfed a while ago.
AoC may be able to redeem itself in a few months if Funcom pushes out tons more late level content and fixes the horrible bugs that still plague it but at this point I'm doubtful.- Genrre, on 07/09/2008, -1/+2From playing Anarchy Online, Funcom's earlier game, I can tell you that they are all about late level content.
- rYno, on 07/09/2008, -3/+7Funny video but bad title..
- Borgcube636, on 07/09/2008, -4/+1I can't wait to start doing that once I get enough gold for a horse. But in the meantime, knocking people around with the Mammoth mount is still very fun :)
- 00slash00, on 07/09/2008, -8/+5i quit wow over a year ago but the last 6 months i was registered to it, i averaged maybe 2 hours a month. it was fun for a little while but it just got so boring. age of conan i have only been playing for about a month, but i definitely find it more fun than wow was. the combat system becomes much less of a big deal after a couple hours but it keeps the game from feeling boring and that was what i hated about wow. very boring combat and while aoc doesnt have a great story, at least it has one. still, conan feels very unfinished right now. still like it much better than wow but it definitely wasnt worth upgrading my computer for

- pyro789x, on 07/09/2008, -0/+1Thanks :D
I made it myself about a year ago, but didn't think that anybody would really be interested in it.
I just submitted it =p http://digg.com/pc_games/World_of_Warcraft_knockba ... - digichris, on 07/09/2008, -0/+1well nice vid =] so when you throw a snowball at the enemey in AV it does a knockback now? when was that added in? I remember when you could throw a snowball at your party member and it would knock them down/stop their casting. I killed a couple ppl with that until it was nerfed. But that's pretty cool that they added in the new ability you demonstrated.
- pyro789x, on 07/09/2008, -0/+1Thanks :D
- Klak, on 07/09/2008, -0/+1way better. you actually go down and kill them after knocking them off

This is the only reason to get Age of Conan.- spaceman84, on 07/09/2008, -0/+3I just saw it on the Internet. No reason to buy it now.
- HotDogBun, on 07/09/2008, -15/+3Well, you won;t hear much good about AoC from the no-lifers who play an MMO 21 hours a day in desperate hopes of attaining a level of superiority in the game that helps them compensate for the psychologically damaging inadequacies they suffer through in real life. That's why they hit lvl 80 in 2 weeks and get bored. HOW WILL THEY COMPENSATE FOR THEIR SMALL GENITALS???
My wife and I play games casually, and thusfar we have found AoC to be immensely enjoyable. It's pretty damn good for something that has only been live since may. And this ***** about it requiring a top end PC to play is ridiculous. We both run it on a HP a1730n (A pretty cheap stock rig, under 800 bucks when we bought them over a year ago) with a Nvidia Geforce 8500 GT Graphics card (99 bucks, new)
Yes it's unpolished, but it already shows itself to be far superior to the mindless hundred hour gold/rep grinds required in warcraft, and most importantly it doesn;t look like a goddam bugs bunny cartoon. - HotDogBun, on 07/09/2008, -17/+0Well, you won;t hear much good about AoC from the no-lifers who play an MMO 21 hours a day in desperate hopes of attaining a level of superiority in the game that helps them compensate for the psychologically damaging inadequacies they suffer through in real life. - Annon201, on 07/09/2008, -0/+9The only way to outsell WoW is to get all the WoW players to switch to a much less harmful drug like Heroin, Crack Cocaine or Methamphetamine.
- Vertigo131313, on 07/09/2008, -1/+0This (among many other reasons) is why I just canceled my AOC subscription.

- seraph582, on 07/09/2008, -0/+1Oh yeah - a game featuring the misogynistic, retarded version of John Wayne running around shooting weapons too stupid to be invented by NERF r&d will definitely topple a billion dollar a year franchise.

- Zaggynl, on 07/09/2008, -0/+3So, when Diablo 3 comes out, the Duke will be there too? Awesome.
- homeagain1, on 07/09/2008, -0/+1Pretty funny, but could have been edited better.
- traveler19, on 07/09/2008, -0/+1When your paying $15+ a month to play a game thats suppose to be updated with new content monthly, I'd at least expect the game to have it's core mechanics in check. I enjoyed AOC don't get me wrong, I leveled a necromancer to 76 in the 1 month time span. It was refreshing to be able to see new stuff, new shiny graphics, and new game play mechanics (Albeit not so good) but there was one flaw that really got to me and that's Zones.
Don't get me wrong, Zones are fine to a degree, but this game made it silly. It's not you going to the end of a map and loading a new zone. Pretty much you talk to an NPC guy at the end of a map, and he says, "Want to go here?" And then you click yes or no.
Maybe in a years time we'll see a flushed out masterpiece, who knows. -
