My husband and I are both very politically active, and since we have a small child, we've begun to think about having a back up plan should something both of us get arrested, or if both of us happen to be in a car accident or something. We started talking about making a will, and we've made some phone calls to my mom to ensure that should both of us get arrested, she knows that we wish her to take care of our daughter until things get straightened out. We are going to draft a transfer of care for her, so that we have it officially documented and notarized, just in case.
This isn't conspiracy theory stuff, this is really just making sure that our daughter's care is covered, and that everything is legit, should the worst happen. But I'm definitely going to be making some phone calls on Monday, to make sure that we both at least have a business card for a lawyer so that we don't find ourselves without one, and waiting for a public rep. - zappa717, on 12/11/2007, -0/+3Great advice.
