    what i would like to know is are these photos for the xbox 360 or the PS3, which next gen console should i dispose all of my hard earned money on to play GTA:IV on...?
    if its any help i am a veteran of the GTA series on PS2 so that might help some how....

      However, that is because I own PS2 games, and a PS1/PS1 games. I am biased.

      So, a Biased opinion from the PS3 side is this:
      Free online play, Upgrade your harddrive with any notebook hard drive, free browser and stores all your memory cards into the hard drive for the older games (which reduces load times). Free Blu-Ray player, music player, and free themes, wall papers, icons, etc. Very stable and quiet, comes with free wifi. Motion sensitive controller that can is rechargeable with any USB 2.0 connector. Supports usb/bluetooth mouse, keyboard, and it allows external Fat32 hard drives. Oh, and games can be hosted by ps3's or by online servers at the choice of the developer. You can download games you buy onto 4 other PS3's (5 total). And there is no size limit on downloadable games (Xbox's Arcade has a size limit of 150MB per Arcade games as of now).

      My Biased 360 opinion goes like this (I believe, please someone correct me.):
      360 has a small fee for great yearly service (Xbox live), comes in parts so that you can pick what you want (Get one with a hard drive anyway), you can plug in a cheap usb wifi thing so you don't have to get the MS one, there is a larger community online (Not sure about this), you can talk to people/etc from within games (need this confirmed), it has some great FPS games like Bioshock (BUY THIS, IT ROCKS) and Halo 3 (I liked it), it doesn't have install times for games (No hard drive on some models). The Xbox might have some technical issues, but if it is the RRoD MS will replace it for free (And revalidate your purchases for the new hard drive) if it is within 3 years. It is also smaller than the ps3 I believe. The price is lower than the base price for the PS3 (If you don't buy one with a hard drive, and you don't play online, etc).

      Like I said, I picked the PS3 because I had a library of games. I got the 60 GB version (Which you can still get on Ebay), cause it can play all ps2 games with very few if any issues.

The only thing separating the two versions is that the 360 version will have some exclusive downloadable content on the way. If you see yourself hooking up your 360 to the internet and spending money on future content, you should give the 360 some serious thought.
      In my opinion, check out the game libraries and features of each console and decide which you would rather like. Would be silly if you bought a console for one game and hated everything else about it.

    • MrZop, on 04/09/2008, -0/+5From what i've heard, the two versions (PS3/360) will look the same. only a slight difference in lighting. I think the PS3 has a brighter lighting scheme, they call it 'Warmer'). So they're the same. 3box wins on Downloadable content if you plan on buying the expansion packs eventually. ps3 wins for sheer power. but it really depends on two things: 1) what games do you play? if you want halo, get an xbox, if you want Metal Gear solid or Gran Turismo, get a ps3. pick whatever console has the games you most want to play. the games are more important than the hardware running them. 2) what do your friends have? if they all have 360's you may want to get a 360 so you can play with them online. same with the PS3.

      I'm in the same boat as you. i cannot decide what console to get. i have until GTA4 launch day to decide. I sort of want a 360, but my friends have PS3's, and i really want to play all this Multiplayer with them.

      Disregard the spelling. i see all the red sqigglies, but i don't care.
      • samuraix98, on 04/10/2008, -0/+1At least I'm not the only one whose still deciding... the thing that sucks is I'm more leaning towards ps3 but most of my friends have 360's but then again Ive loved the square, circle, triangle, X since the beginning so it might be hard to get in to an xbox360 controller after all that Ive done with the ps2 ones....ehh we still have a few more weeks, but its totally coming down to the wire.
    • ATLien74, on 04/09/2008, -3/+3PS3! I had a 360, and I had problem after problem with it. I sent it back to MS 3 times for repairs and was without it for 1/4 of the year. The last time it malfunctioned was beyond the warranty period, so I traded the broke 360 in and a PS2 (fully funcional after 6 or 7 years) and bought a PS3. It haven't had a single problem with it. Plus online play is FREE!

    • TomFrost, on 04/09/2008, -0/+2The problem with torrenting multiplayer games is that often you can only get the LAN multiplayer to work. Sure, you can whip up a decent LAN game with Hamachi, but this is one of those games you just gotta buy :)

  • freakydingo, on 04/09/2008, -0/+4I've been really skeptical about the GTA multi-player, but after reading an article in OXM and now this one from Kotaku, I'm really beginning to become convinced this could work out. The author of this article seemed to have the same point of view I had previously. And plus he wasn't foaming at the mouth like everyone else is, he even said the single-player "didn't seem to include any giant leaps forward for the franchise." (This convinced me he wasn't just a fanboy.) I have to stop procrastinating about pre-ordering this darn game!

    So, it's your choice, I just think that this is very much worth considering.
