Set Firefox 3 to Launch Gmail for mailto Links
lifehacker.com — When you click an email link, Firefox 3 can launch Gmail instead of a desktop app. By default, Firefox RC 1 only comes with Yahoo! Mail as a possible mailto: link handler, which leaves Gmail users out in the cold —unless you know how to set it up by hand. Here's how to configure Firefox 3 to use Gmail as your default mailto: application handler.

- praveenmarkandu, on 05/22/2008, -0/+2i have no idea why the "Bug 413630 – web-based handler en-US default options" has taken so long to be fixed. firefox is basically googles browser and i find it weird that they had not integrated GCal and GMail sooner. i would digg this twice if i could. good tip lifehacker.
- Atomic1fire, on 05/22/2008, -0/+2Now if only there was a webapp manager.
So you could like, manage what webapp you use for calander and the other stuff. - human3rror, on 05/22/2008, -0/+0freakin' awesome. works like a charm.
- enignock, on 05/22/2008, -0/+2That is both good and bad for me. I usually reserve my gmail address for actual humans that I talk to and number of other crappy web-emails for any websites that would actually utilize mailto... oh well, I guess it's good for buying model trains and crab meat on craigslist.
