Fullscreen Mode Gets Serious in Firefox 3
lifehacker.com — Firefox 3's new and improved fullscreen browsing introduces a truly fullscreen experience, utilizing every last pixel of your monitor for the web page. By default the new fullscreen autohides any visible toolbars, though you can bring them back at any time by hovering your mouse over the top edge of the screen.

- meeces, on 06/23/2008, -0/+7I don't use fullscreen mode very much, but I have to admit... firefox 3 might make me start.
- angelabrooks, on 06/23/2008, -2/+0I have not used foxfire much. Just because it is new to me. I have not taken the time to learn more about it yet. I am sure I will have to in the future.
- Lynx55, on 06/23/2008, -0/+0While I love Firefox ( although I left FF 2 for awhile cuz it ticked me off!) , 3 is fantastic...so far anyway. But I am not a huge fan of full screen...I guess it's all in the way we use our browsers and what for! Great article though!
- wjcormier, on 06/24/2008, -1/+6I've been using Firefox for over three years - and hands-down it beats IE and every other browser I've used. I guess I'm what you would call a power-user, and because of my political research, I keep 12 to 15 Internet sites open at all times and it has always worked without a glitch and allows me to write without having to cut-and-paste notes and other information that is always at my fingertips. Further, Firefox has shut-down and identified several sites that were dangerous and even identified one site that was "phishing," Firefox is the cutting-edge of Browsers and I would recommend it to anyone, especially those people who have to engage in research and need to have information right at their fingertips without having to resort to bookmarks to bring back up a site which shouldn't have been closed in the first place.
- bennovw, on 06/24/2008, -0/+2Aaand... it has Adblock Plus!
- 10goto10, on 06/24/2008, -7/+1I have been using this for years on Opera, nice to see it on Firefox as well.
- thetacticus, on 06/24/2008, -1/+2looks like you won't need that addon to do this anymore...good news for the eeepc!
- carlhudson, on 06/24/2008, -0/+3I still get a small bar at the top - just me?
- dpollitt, on 06/24/2008, -0/+1I didn't try f11 till I saw this article on FF3, but it does work great - nice improvement
- bongbishop, on 06/24/2008, -0/+1This is the best fullscreen has ever worked, and without an add-on to boot. The previous add-ons for FF2 always had some catch to them. This is a nice surprise. I would have had no idea had I not read this.
- iamvahe, on 06/24/2008, -0/+1I wish there was a way to remove the scroll bar on the right while in full screen mode. about:config maybe?
