Is Facebook’s redesign aimed at Silicon Valley only?

venturebeat.com — It looks very much like Facebook developers spent too much time reading Silicon Valley blogs and browsing FriendFeed while they should have listened to its real users. The redesign is definitely not intended for mainstream users while it really should be - Facebook was never intended for the Silicon Valley geeks only, after all.
