Rejected Cartoon watch!
youtube.com — This guy actually was hired by these companies to do animations, but instead of doing quality content, this is what they got....

Oops....got beat by rcomegys - everfalling, on 10/12/2007, -2/+28"because of this video, I called my mom a consumer whore."

- MasherSCF, on 10/12/2007, -3/+16It bears repeating:
My Anus IS bleeding!
I haven't laughed so hard in years. - MyDocuments, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3@ 5:52
mr. cloud looks so sad that his anus is bleeding :( - theOster, on 10/12/2007, -2/+21"Life As A Guy" by Don Hertzfeldt
http://www.compfused.com/directlink/1235/ - Misapoes, on 10/12/2007, -16/+1Meh, I found most of it veeerrry funny, but the my anus is bleeding (best part) isn't from him.
I saw it before on a lot of toons. (some from newgrounds to) - SeptBoot, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6Reminds me of The Book of Bunny Suicides by Andy Riley.
http://www.bookofbunnysuicides.com/
Very funny stuff, very similar to Don's work. - Hamsterpotpies, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2some good times.
- Crispin, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8At one of my old jobs I hacked a coworker's computer to say "My anus is bleeding!" when he got email. Unfortunately he got email in the middle of a team meeting one day. I've never seen so many faces turn red from either embarrassment or trying to not to laugh. That was a great job.
- RandomSkratch, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Pure genius AND talent!
Funny as hell!! - kakifry, on 10/12/2007, -14/+5THESE ARE SO OLD
- jmechy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2If you like this, check out "the animation show".
http://www.animationshow.com/
Its a animation festival put together by Don Hertzfeldt and Mike Judge (of Bevis and Butthead and Office Space fame). Year 3 starts January 2007, and they tour the entire country! The first year is out on DVD and is very much worth picking up. - blueblood, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2"an oldie but a goodie"
- queefer, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Sorry but my mind is slow today, I dont get what you mean by "My anus is bleeding". Can someone explain?
- shreveyboy, on 10/12/2007, -5/+16omg im so glad this made digg. The dvd should be out now, buy it.
- mymacsmokespot, on 10/12/2007, -13/+11Awesome...Loved it mucho! Thanks for finding this.
- Dested, on 10/12/2007, -4/+17Where could he possibly have found such a hidden gem?
- hessian, on 10/12/2007, -7/+18Get the DVD rip, at 61M, the quality is fantastic, much better than this 10M one that has been floating around the web for years:
http://www.torrentspy.com/torrent/232841/Don_Hertzfeldts_Rejected_Eng_DVDRip
You can find out more information at wiki
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rejected
- fauxtank, on 10/12/2007, -2/+117It's Don Hertzfeld, he wasn't hired by anyone to do them. That's just a premise. He sends these to film festivals and sells DVD's: http://www.bitterfilms.com/ . He does virtually nothing but good work, so check out his other stuff too.
Oh, and these are definitely quality, even if they don't look like Finding Nemo, or Steamboy.- ImTheDarkcyde, on 10/12/2007, -1/+17they're also well worth buying, none of the horrible youtube compression
- carapi, on 10/12/2007, -85/+4So, he does virtually nothing but good work, and yet some of the non-good work ends up on Digg's front page?
I am SO glad my sense of humor is more advanced that to confuse stupid, random and annoying with humorous. - nreynolds, on 10/12/2007, -5/+40No, I think you're confusing "Shut up" with "Post your stupid opinions on Digg." Those are absolutely hilarious.
You know why Futurama got canceled? It wasn't because it was ridiculous, it was because it was too smart for people. The two can, and usually do, go hand in hand. - baxtermadux, on 10/12/2007, -2/+12how can someone watch this film and then be dumb enough to think that they were actually rejected. what a gullible fool. they definetly rock the socks though
- jtotheg, on 10/12/2007, -7/+9Well, I was gullible enough to believe it..
What can you believe on the Internet? Part of me is still wanting the story behind it to be true because it makes it even more funny! - calvinosaurus, on 10/12/2007, -5/+0I'm pretty sure he did those Poptarts commercials too. I dunno if they get airtime anymore but I remember seeing two or three cartoony commercials that were very much his style.
- baxtermadux, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3the cartoons are clearly structured so that it flows as coherent message, a setup, a middle, and an end.that does not happen by accident.
- gaijin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8"I'm pretty sure he did those Poptarts commercials too."
Nope. Hertzfeld has never done commercial work, and, as he has stated numerous times, he never will. See the wiki entry here:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rejected - raid517, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Now that is what I was thinking - what exactly isn't quality about this? It has all of the professional animators art right there - it is cleverly constructed - and downright hilarious - and any advertising company who had been sent material like this would have to have been insane to reject it. This person is very talented because he plays with or perceptions of what animation is - and he manages to tell an amusing and convincing story in the process.
- garg, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2The poptart ads look similar.
- Agret, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3"It's Don Hertzfeld, he wasn't hired by anyone to do them. That's just a premise"
Yep, buried as inaccurate. These cartoons were pretty awesome back when they first came out, wish you could bury for multiple reasons (Inaccurate & Old News) - theGrue, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Yeah, the Pop-Tart commercials were definitely inspired by his work. As were scenes in the Broodwich episode of Aqua Teen Hunger Force.
- chijim70, on 10/12/2007, -4/+4BTW, New futuramas due out in 2008...
http://www.tvsquad.com/2006/06/22/new-episodes-of-futurama-coming-to-comedy-central-for-real/ - chaimpot0k, on 10/12/2007, -7/+1Futurama? Too smart for people? That's a ***** good one man.
- megagram, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Just put an order in for his DVD. Thanks for the link and further info! Can't wait to watch!
- sl4x0r, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2glad to see so many hertzfeldt fans here...everybody check out the bitter films dvd, it's great stuff. it was literally years in the making (just like most of his films), and the quality is amazing (they did tons of remastering, and even rerecorded the soundtrack for "ah l'amour" (the one where the guy gets killed by a bunch of different ways by girls).
- TheCheeks, on 10/12/2007, -2/+21Super old, but still a good laugh.
- StarManta, on 10/12/2007, -1/+11"ITS LIKE I CAN TOUCH YOU!"
- MasteRR, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9"Damn the illusion of movement! Damn the illusion of movement to Hell!"
- sl4x0r, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2animation in the thiiiiiird dimension!
- Shrooms27, on 05/15/2008, -0/+0ROBOTS!!!!!!!
- samesong, on 10/12/2007, -8/+13I'm a banana!
- carapi, on 10/12/2007, -68/+2I am not buying the premise of this at all. I really doubt there was any Family Channel contract, etc. I think this is just some extremely unfunny animator who cofnuses stupid and weird with funny and decided to give his idiotic artoons a better backstory than just "I suck at cartoons, these are proof." So he made up a fake sotry about the Family Channel.
And god....there is nothing more annoying that having to read a long sentnce with small letters in the Dr. Katz shaky style of animation,- saralk, on 10/12/2007, -0/+23Of course the premise if fake, the whole thing is fictional.
Its a pretty good video, a lot of people try and be funny by trying to appear spontaneous, but usually ends up looking forced. Dan manages to pull it off with impressive results though. - Geener, on 10/12/2007, -2/+15Hey Carapi, did you know that the word gullible isn't actually part of the English language. Really. Look it up.
- sakuraz, on 10/12/2007, -22/+3http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/gullible
Gullible, now even in english language. - lawrencec, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2This film was nominated for an Oscar for best animated short in 2001 and has won many festival awards. It's quality whether you choose to believe it or not.
- 2012, on 10/12/2007, -12/+3Actually Gullible is in the dictionary.
http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/Gullible
Obviously...was it.. carpy...no wait...it was...crappy....no...no...oh yeah, carapi is describing his own affliction. - fraggle35, on 10/12/2007, -3/+12I can't believe they were gullible enough to check the dictionary for gullible!!
- molochi, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1The gullibility index of humankind is served here - http://piv.pivpiv.dk
- billymachine, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Hahahahaha, they even posted links to the definition for us! How thoughtful! : D
- kbox, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5"Actually Gullible is in the dictionary."
You ***** moron.
- saralk, on 10/12/2007, -0/+23Of course the premise if fake, the whole thing is fictional.
- ImTheDarkcyde, on 10/12/2007, -4/+21A true classic, but no digg for "how the ***** can the submitter not know the real story behind these videos?!"
- bdrydyk, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6I agree that description is way wrong, but this video is hilarious enough to deserve a digg anyhow. Anyone with their head on straight will be able to figure out that the premise of the film is fiction.
- bdrydyk, on 10/12/2007, -10/+1ugh, accidental double post.
- mediaphile, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3could be submitter was trying to keep the suspension of belief alive for people who hadn't seen the video before.
but probably not. - Porkinsred6, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Thank you! Jeez, some people on digg can be such assholes. "no digg......buried as inaccurate.....buried as old news....." Your the first person to give ANY slack whatsoever. Your awesome.
- michir, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1is this the same guy who made the "salad fingers" clips?
- nreynolds, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4salad fingers is so weird. It's not as funny, just... way... not.... a thing.... Really though, Salad Fingers is the weirdest thing ever.
- cr3ative, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5No, that was David Firth.
- everfalling, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2this is by Don Hertzfeldt, as it says in the credits. salad fingers is david firth.
- Teacup, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Nope, that's David Firth of fat-pie.com.
- michir, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1thx for your info
- qwertywatcher, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5oh my god you've made me so happy
- Porkinsred6, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Your Welcome
- Spo8, on 10/12/2007, -8/+6If I had a dollar for every time this was submitted...
I would have a good amount of dollars.- Porkinsred6, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2In your defense, this same cartoon was in fact submitted about 7 or 8 times before. But none of those previous submissions received a substantial amount of diggs. So you would only have 7 or 8 bucks. You might be able to buy a happy meal with that....depends on where you live.
- Pedlya, on 10/12/2007, -19/+1If I had a dollar for every time...oh you got it before me.
STOP RESUBMITTING - teddyrux, on 10/12/2007, -0/+34For Halloween, I dressed up as someone wearing a silly hat, carried with me a giant sign that said "Silly Hats Only" and a baseball bat. Nobody got it.
- Shrooms27, on 05/15/2008, -0/+0digg for the effort
- recipher, on 10/12/2007, -1/+23People that don't like this video are probably a giant bucket.
- Shrooms27, on 05/15/2008, -0/+0or maybe they forgot their coat on Tuesday
- Johnnycashak, on 10/12/2007, -9/+3The whole thing felt like Seth McFarlane to me. I swear I heard the voice of the perverted old next door neighbor in there, as well as the voice of Pinochio in Shrek.
- Coffeedemon, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2He probably stole it then ... this is as old as the hills and judging by the fact I see the same goddamn joke all the time on Family Guy, McFarlane isn't exactly full of new ideas.
- Shrooms27, on 05/15/2008, -0/+0Right you are yet unfortunatly they're funny
- Johnnycashak, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4Um... why did I get negative diggs for mentioning it felt familiar? You people are really interesting.
- Coffeedemon, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2He probably stole it then ... this is as old as the hills and judging by the fact I see the same goddamn joke all the time on Family Guy, McFarlane isn't exactly full of new ideas.
- xenoploid, on 10/12/2007, -9/+2Inaccurate. This was a joke as part of a short film.
- Porkinsred6, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2OH GOD! NO! YOUR KIDDING! WHY, GOD, WHY!
- everfalling, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Don Hertzfeldt for the ultimate win.
the description is accurate in that this is what the short film was about, but such a commission never transpired. - xenoNfluX, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Such a classic. Digging up since I've never seen it on here before.
- CaptShmo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3yeah, i bought the dvd off his website a while ago.
this cartoon is worth every penny. - TheWriteGuy, on 10/12/2007, -1/+12MY SPOON IS TOO BIG!!
- Shrooms27, on 05/15/2008, -0/+0!! I AM A BANANA !!
- tito13kfm, on 10/12/2007, -13/+4Is this supposed to be funny? Is it supposed to be some sort of social commentary? Maybe I just don't "get it" but I thought this was one of the dumbest things I have ever watched.
- FireStrife, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8You are just too smart for us I guess.
- 2012, on 10/12/2007, -5/+6You probably don't laugh at farts either.
- Vwise, on 10/12/2007, -9/+3tito13kfm, your not alone.
- WolfProtagonist, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5This may help you understand a little better tito.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dada - Lardquake, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2You don't get it.
- youdlike2know, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3that was genius.. nice digg!
- zero01101, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1i wondered if this would ever make it to digg.
jolly good show.
god, for the love of silly hats only.
brilliance. - gopy, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Older than the internet.
- mooosic, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1Yeeah! Old school :D
- dipiddy, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Even though this is old, it's worth the digg for those that have never seen it before.
- rawkes, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Haha memories! I forgot all about this little gem.
"I am.. a BANANA!" - craigily, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3hahaha ah yes. i have seen these but never with the premise that they were rejected! that makes a little more sense, even if it is part of the act. honestly tho, there is no way that would happen. i do animations for commercials and there is an extensive approval system for every client.
- Mitchbones, on 10/12/2007, -3/+0Maybe they learned their lesson by hiring this guy?
- farther, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7Old, but still irresistably awesome!
"Mah spoon's too big... mah SPOON is too BIG! I am a BANANA!" - macmcrae, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Best piece of animation of all time. Watch it bitches and you will know all that is good.
- iCupcake, on 07/30/2008, -0/+6This is some of the most stupid ***** I've seen on internet, and I've seen a lot of *****.
"My anus is bleeding" "MY ANUS IS BLEEDING!"
Couldn't stop laughting. - Viremia, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4SWEET JESUS!!!
- dvfreelancer, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4This is why repeats, if they're spaced out at a tactful interval, aren't all bad. Especially on a site like Digg where the headlines move off the front page pretty fast. I'd never seen this before. Laughed so hard my anus started bleeding.
Yeaaaaaaaahhhhh! - lazerdave, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5And how!
- merimeet, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2This is a classic.
- displaynone, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1those were horrible! +digg
- SeptBoot, on 10/12/2007, -3/+4That was so sick I had to show it to my 8 year old sister, she's crying. :-(
Ehh, she laughed for about 5 minutes than just started bleeding and crying, what's up with that? - zerovirus34, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Ah...the memories, I found this about 3 years ago...good thing its on youtube
- AndreGerber, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2This is sad. i can't view it because YouTube says I must be 18. anyone know how I can "fix" that? I can't find an option to change my age in my youTube profile...
- knuton, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Marketing: http://johannes.emerich.de/helferlein/stilts fixes it.
- SeptBoot, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2Reminds me of The Book of Bunny Suicides by Andy Riley.

Very funny stuff, very similar to Don's work.- bwishey, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Log out :p
- AndreGerber, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1But I can't log out because then it gives me the same message, but including that i should log in...
- merimeet, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Ha, I have that book. Everyone should read it
- bwishey, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2You know how hard Don Hertzfeldt's been trying to keep this moving from leaking around the internet everywhere? I'm burying this to help preserve his work, even though it is an amazing piece of animation.
- molochi, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Too late. It's been everywhere for a long time. Now it's mentioned on Digg and gobbs more people will buy the DVD. Either that or his anus will be bleeding. Has Adult Swim contacted him yet?
- Zlatty, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I love how this movie comes back from the dead every other year and reminds us how much DH attains.
- colemip, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Old news, but BRILLIANT. BS about keeping this off the internet. Had I never seen this, I wouldn't know who the hell Don Hertzfeldt was and I sure wouldn't care about buying his DVD (which I plan to do).
- Ambassadeur, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3DIGG for the SWEDISH Christmas song "Nu är det jul igen", playing while his anus is bleeding...
